Clark County commissioners signaled Tuesday they will begin developing regulations for data centers — and are weighing a possible pause on new applications — after an outpouring of public concern over the industry’s environmental impact.

No formal action was taken, but Commissioners William McCurdy and Tick Segerblom said they plan to work together on a framework that could set uniform standards for future projects, an effort McCurdy described as potentially “Herculean.”
