Today we're diving deep into a topic that's close to my heart and crucial for any business looking to thrive in today's competitive landscape the power of company culture Whether you're a CEO or a team leader or an employee looking to make a difference, understanding and harnessing the power of culture can be a game changer. So let's get started. First things first. What exactly do we mean by company culture? It's more than just casual Fridays or having a ping pong table in the break room. At its core, company culture is the set of shared beliefs and practices that shape how work gets done in an organization. It's really the personality of a company, and it influences everything from decision-making processes to how employees interact with each other and with customers. So why does company culture matter so much? Well, a strong, positive culture can have a profound impact on a company's success. Research has actually shown that companies with strong cultures see higher employee engagements and lower turnover rates, and even higher profitability. In my own experience, I have seen how a positive culture can change an entire business. When employees feel aligned with their company's values and their mission, they're more motivated to be creative and more likely to go the extra mile, not just for you, but for also your customers. So how do we build and maintain a strong culture? Well, it really starts at the top, and leadership needs to not just talk about values, but they need to embody them. So I have a few key strategies I have four that you can use that will help build that culture within your company. The first one is clear communication. You can regularly articulate your company's missions and your values with your employees. They can be brought up at every meeting. Touch on at least one of them every meeting so that your team knows what you stand for as a company. The second, I believe, is the most important, and that's leading by example, making sure that your leadership actions and the leadership actions of those at the top of the company align with what you say your company stands for.
Jennifer Johnson:And then hire for a cultural fit. Look beyond skill when you're hiring somebody for a position. So maybe you are hiring for Technician ABC and Technician ABC comes along with a bunch of different certifications and things like that. But you have somebody who comes in and applies Maybe they don't have that certification. Is it something that you can send them to school to learn that certification? Because you really like their personality, you really like who they are. That's what we need to hire for.
Jennifer Johnson:And then, finally, recognize and reward, celebrate employees who exemplify your cultural ideals. Did somebody go above and beyond and that's one of your company core values? Reward them with something little, whether that's a gift card somewhere you bake them a cake, you bake them cookies, whatever it is. Do what feels right to you, but celebrate that employee. Remember a strong company culture isn't just a nice to have, it's a must-have in today's business world. It's the invisible force that can drive your company to new heights of success and fulfillment. Whether you're just starting out thinking about culture within your company or you're looking to strengthen an existing one, I hope this discussion today gives you some food for thought.
