Mental Health and Caregiver Burnout, Part 1
Hey there, listeners! We are back from a much-needed vacation!! In this month’s episode, we are talking about caregiver burnout with Donna Costa and Greta Johnson. Our guests explain what caregiver burnout is and provide some practical tools to our listeners.
Donna Costa, BSW, MSW, is the Director of Education and Outreach for NAMI San Antonio and the Cohort Development Coordinator for NAMI-Bridges to Care San Antonio program. In these roles, she connects faith communities and organizations with mental health training that support them with creating mental health initiatives within their communities. The goal of NAMI-BTCSA is to assist others by providing pre-crisis prevention training and assisting with identifying community resources to promote mental health and wellness.
Greta Johnson, B.S. Psychology, M.S. Psychology, is the Senior Family Case Manager for Haven For Hope. In this role, she is responsible for the coordination of service delivery, data management, and coordinating staff training for Case Management Team Members assigned to Haven to Home Teams. The Senior Case Manager provides technical assistance support and monitors caseloads for accuracy of program rules and identifies areas from process improvement to support the program. This position requires advanced skills and knowledge related to individuals who are experiencing chronic homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, substance abuse, criminal justice, and other traumas.
We hope you enjoy this conversation with Donna and Greta and look forward to part two of our conversation.
