It takes a village – Home Health Nursing

Happy New Year, Listeners!! 

We introduce our new theme for the year, “It takes a village.” Our family is very blessed by the community of people that help us raise and support our daughter—from adoption to providing specific medical care needs; we know it truly does take a village to raise our child. In this episode, we introduce our listeners to Adira’s Private Duty Home Health Nurse, Julie Ann Melton. She plays a vital role in our family, administering and advocating the appropriate medical needs for Adira. 

Julie Ann Melton, RN, BSN, is Adira’s private duty nurse through Pediatric Home Healthcare. In this role, she provides one-on-one care for Adira in her home and school environment. Such care includes promoting health and disease prevention, medication/feeding administration, providing emotional support, assisting in virtual OT, PT, and Speech therapy sessions, and providing primary daily care such as personal hygiene and grooming. In addition, home health care offers medically fragile patients continuous nursing care in the comfort of their homes.
