TRUST 101, Lesson 3

Matt Trusch & Felix Frydberg

B"H

TRUST 101 IS THE FASTEST WAY TO LEARN THE GATE OF TRUST OVER THE 8 DAYS OF CHANUKAH!

Since G-d has these Trust-worthy qualities, times Infinity, shouldn’t I trust in G-d exclusively?  Does that mean I can quit my day job?

Lesson 3 discusses:

  • 5 things that G-d requires for my Trust to work -- Recognition, Sincerity, Exclusivity, Obedience and Partnership.
  • G-d wants me to work: (1) to Test me and (2) to keep me Preoccupied.  Some Good Guys ace these 2 and don’t have to work.
  • Yet, some Good Guys may suffer for 5 reasons, and Bad Guys prosper for 6.
  • My job suits me: physically, intellectually, and based on my nature.
  • I can’t quit my day job, because that’s how I serve Hashem!
  • My income is determined by G-d, not what I do 9-5.

Rabbi Mattisyahu Trusch (Matt “Trust”) used to worry too much, but thanks to the Gate of Trust, no more!  Matt earned a masters from Harvard University in Chinese Studies, speaks fluent Mandarin, and leads the Wellsprings project – translating the Tanya and other seminal works into Chinese.  An ex-investment banker, these days Matt works a “day job” as a real estate fund manager, and also moonlights as a podcast host.
