Praying Identity Truths

Receiving Peace And Closing

Welcome to the Father's Business Devotional Podcast, which flows from the heart of Sylvia Gunter and her deep desire to help people know God. May God quiet your spirit and soul, draw you close to the Father's heart, and anchor you in the unshakable truth that you are deeply loved and securely held. The world feels heavy right now. Every headline seems to carry more darkness, every conversation holds unanswered questions. We're living in a time of uncertainty, and it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and even powerless. It doesn't take much for fear to slowly move into the center of our thoughts, but today we are making a choice. We are choosing to cling to who is unshakable. God is ever constant. He does not shift with circumstances, he is not reacting to events, he is not surprised by what unfolds, and our identity is secure in him. Philippians 4 7 promises that when we bring everything to God, not just some things, not just the spiritual things, but everything to him, his peace will surpass all understanding and will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. And some days that's exactly what I need: a military strength guard of peace, a guard over my mind, a guard over my emotions, a guard over my soul that loves to worry. So we choose to bring everything to him, every fear, every unknown, every what if, and what we get in return is him. And it may be a minute-by-minute choice, but it's what we choose to focus on. And that is the heartbeat behind revealing the treasures, which is over 400 pairs of who God is and who we are in him. And so today we're going to pray some of the truths from revealing the treasures. God, because you are able, able to make all grace abound, able to sustain and strengthen and uphold, I am standing. I am not collapsing under pressure. I am not defeated by what I see. I stand not because I am strong, but because the Lord is able to make me stand. God, because you are above all, above every ruler, every power, every headline, and every uncertainty, I am a citizen of heaven. My identity is not rooted in earthly instability, but in the unshakable kingdom of God. My future is secure, my allegiance is eternal. God, because you are faithful and true, you are the amen, the trustworthy witness, the ruler of all creation who does not change. I am steadfast in you. I am being made strong, firm, and established. I am anchored to the one who keeps his promises. God, because you are my shelter, my refuge from the storm, my shade from the heat, my strong tower when fears rise, I am safe. Not untouched by circumstances, but protected within them. I'm not abandoned in difficulty, but covered and kept by your name. Because you reign, I don't have to strive. Because you carry me, I don't have to fall apart. Because you guard my mind with your peace, I don't have to live in fear. Because you are strong, I can stand. Because you are faithful, I can remain steady. And because you are my shelter, I am safe. And when fear tries to rise, help my spirit, soul, and body to return here. You are able, you are above all, you are faithful and true, you are my shelter. Because of who you are, I am secure. So, Father, we thank you that you guard us. You stand over our minds like a military guard, protecting us from hostile invasion. Father, refuse fear permission to take over and keep me from fleeing into panic. Father, I want your peace not just to keep worry out, but to keep me steady, firm, and steadfast in your character. Thank you that you are able to make grace abound, that you are able to make us stand. I can't stand on my own, but in you I can stand. God, you are the banner lifted over the nations, and your banner over us is love. Therefore, we live under love and not under fear. You are the creator of the ends of the earth, and you have carried us since birth and will carry us still. Therefore, I am not forgotten or overlooked. You are the God of love and peace, and you have lavished your love upon me. Therefore, I am deeply loved, not just barely tolerated. You are the God who hears before I call you answer. Therefore I am heard. You are the one who quiets the storms and quiets us with your love. You calm the winds around us and the winds within us. Therefore, you are our shelter from the storm. Your name is a strong tower, and we run into it and are safe. Father, anchor us in who you are. When fear tries to rise, remind us that you are able and allow the truth of who you are to displace our anxiety and fear. Thank you, Father, that you give us the gift of your peace, your peace that transcends all understanding, and your peace patrols the borders of our hearts and minds. So, Father, we receive the peace of Christ to stand guard over us today. We say that fear has no entrance and that worry must lose its voice. Because we stand firm in you because you are able. We feel carried and heard and sheltered and quieted by your presence because of the depth of who you are that you have given to us that is higher and deeper and wider than we can begin to comprehend. Allow the roots of our identity and our emotions to go deep down in the soil of who you are so that we will never be shaken. Thank you, Father, that for everything we face today, there is an aspect of your character ready to meet us there. Help us to understand the treasure of who you are and the vast, deep reservoir that you have for us today. We pray this in your name. Amen.
