The River and the Rock Guided Meditation

Angela Myer/Kerie Logan Season 4 Episode 96

Send us a text

Take a journey to the river of your soul in this transformative guided meditation. Through gentle visualization and breathwork, you're invited to discover the profound wisdom that exists when we learn to flow with life rather than resist it.

At the heart of this meditation lies a powerful metaphor: you are a river, fluid and wise, encountering a solid, unmovable rock in your path. Rather than teaching you to overcome or eliminate obstacles, this practice reveals how true grace emerges when we acknowledge and accept what we cannot change. The simple yet revolutionary phrase "you belong too" becomes an invitation to include rather than exclude the challenging aspects of your experience.

As you're guided deeper into the meditation, you'll explore the delicate balance between surrendering to the flow of life and honoring your own solid presence. "I am the river. I surrender to the flow of life. I release the need to control what I cannot change." These affirmations help integrate the practice, reminding you that you contain both qualities—the adaptability of water and the groundedness of stone.

Whether you're facing difficult circumstances, challenging relationships, or inner resistance, this meditation offers a path to greater peace through acceptance. By the time you gently return to awareness, you'll carry with you the knowing that you can weather any storm with ease and grace, flowing around obstacles rather than exhausting yourself fighting against them. Listen when you need to remember the art of allowing and the freedom that comes with it.

Speaker 2:

Hello, welcome. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, gently close your eyes and take in a deep breath and slowly exhale. Let your body begin to soften. Imagine the spine lengthening your shoulders, releasing your heart, becoming more open. Breathe in and breathe out. Allow the outer world to fade as you come home to yourself. Now imagine before you a vast and beautiful river. The water sparkles with the light of your soul. It flows gently, rhythmically, with purpose and peace, for you can weather any and all storms. This river is you. Step into the water now, see and feel it, wrap around your and, welcoming With every breath, allow yourself to dissolve into it. You are no longer separate. You are the river. You are fluid, wise, fluid, wise, ever moving life in motion.

Speaker 2:

As you flow downstream, you notice a large rock in the middle of solid, unmoving storm and rock before you. Breathe here, for the river does not argue with the rock. It does not resist or try to change its shape. It flows around it with grace. Let this rock symbolize a challenge, a person or a part of yourself. You once resisted. Acknowledge it now. Breathe into the presence of the rock. Say, silently or out loud, you belong too. That's right, you belong too. There is no longer a need to force, to fight, to fix. Just as the rock belongs to the river, this moment belongs to your path.

Speaker 2:

As you continue to flow, weathering each and every storm with ease and grace, you, dear one, feel a deeper sense of peace entering your being. You are learning the art of grace through acceptance, and repeat gently these words in your heart I am the river. I surrender to the flow of life. I release the need to control what I cannot change. I honor all things, both the flow and the stillness. I find peace in allowing. I am grace in motion.

Speaker 2:

Now, as we begin to close, feel yourself, slowly, begin to return to your body, feel the ground beneath you that supports you, become aware of the breath in your lungs, the quiet presence of your heart, softer now, more open, for you can weather any and all storms with ease and grace. You carry the river within you, always flowing, always free, and you carry the wisdom of the rock, solid, unmoved, simply being, simply being. Both are sacred, both are you, both are you. When you feel ready, gently wiggle your fingers and toes, maybe stretch a little and open your eyes. Welcome back, my friend, welcome back, welcome back. Therefore, we are complete, and this is wonderfully so.

Speaker 1:

Thank you.
