The Pain Story or the Soul Lesson?

Angela Myer/Kerie Logan Season 4 Episode 100

Send us a text

The raw truth about our pain stories is that they're not just wounds—they're doorways to profound transformation. At some point, we've all found ourselves stuck in the friend's trauma loop, reliving our heartbreak and betrayal until it becomes part of our identity. But there comes a pivotal moment when we must ask: what if this pain wasn't meant to break you, but to wake you up?

This transformative episode explores the crucial difference between our human experience and our soul's purpose on earth. When a friend came to me shattered by divorce, still loving his ex-wife despite her destructive path, I asked him questions that stopped him in his tracks: "What was the gift she came to give you? What did she teach you?" Two months later, he texted that the list of gifts from this painful experience was "endless"—the perspective shift had completely transformed him.

The alchemy of consciousness happens when we transition from 3D thinking (victimhood, confusion, blame) to 4D awareness (purpose, lessons, growth). This doesn't mean the pain disappears, but it's no longer the center of our story. The ancient wisdom teachings remind us: "There are no mistakes, only lessons" and "Others are merely mirrors of you." When we understand these truths, we begin to recognize that even the most toxic relationships serve as profound teachers.

Consider your own pain story—what memory loops inside you like a ghost with no home? More importantly, are you ready to find the lesson it came to teach? Because whatever broke inside of you might have been just the shell, and what's being born now is the real you—wiser, more compassionate, more embodied. This is your invitation to cross the threshold from victim to alchemist, from broken to becoming.

Take a moment to reflect on these journal prompts: What pain story have I been repeating? What soul lesson might it be carrying? What gift or strength did I gain? Remember, you are not your pain—you are the one who witnessed it, learned from it, and chose to rise anyway.

Speaker 2:

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Undetected Narcissist. Today we're going to explore some deep, deep concepts the pain story or the soul lesson. The Pain Story or the Soul Lesson this episode explores how we can shift from a state of victimhood to one of soul alchemy, transforming heartbreak into healing and pain into a source of power. Today I'm going to pierce the veils for others who are still caught or unconsciously invested in the loop of the pain story. So please sit back and get ready to dive into the deep end of the ocean with me. Okay, we all carry a story full of pain, heartbreak, sadness, disappointment and regrets. The betrayal and breakup can be all-consuming and overwhelming. To handle these fragile moments when everything fell apart, a moment that split us open, a person who left us aching, a chapter that felt like the end, sound familiar? It sure does to me, because I have walked that path a few times in my life. We repeat it to ourselves and others, sometimes for years, stuck in the friend's trauma loop of trying to figure out why this happened to me, feeling raw and extremely confused. We rehearse the pain until it becomes part of our identity, a kind of a scar. We press A scab. We keep scratching over and over to remember we're still alive. But what if that story wasn't meant to break you? What if it was meant to wake you up, like mine did and many others I've helped over the years?

Speaker 2:

Recently, a friend came to me. He was shattered, full of shame, stuck in the salvation mindset. Stuck in the salvation mindset, and his heart was cracked wide open from a painful divorce. He shared the rawness of his journey, the grief, the disorientation, the shame, guilt and the ache of loss. Tears perched and just stood in the little corners of his eyes as he spoke because deep down inside he still loved her. He was so stuck in the human experience that he could not see past the soul's purpose. I listened with compassion and felt his deep pain. It made me recall a few moments in my life when I questioned why someone I loved so deeply would not and could not change because they were on a self-destructive path. Since I am here to heal, not harm or just bitch about his ex, I knew he needed my support. So I gently asked him a few questions that I've learned to ask myself and others when the soul is ready. And it stopped him in his tracks. What was the gift she came to give you? What did she teach you? What did you learn? Do you see the gifts she gave you? I knew the gifts, the teachings and the lessons, but I wanted to know if he could see as well. He was so invested in his human pain story that he couldn't see the gifts his ex-wife gave him from a soul perspective, and I knew that once he grasped it, everything would transform.

Speaker 2:

The sad truth is that being human is not easy. In fact, at times it sucks big time. Our painful emotions can stop us from finding a positive solution. That is why most people cannot separate the soul's purpose here on earth from the human experience. We are not taught to distinguish between the soul and the human experience, but that is why I'm here Additionally. I believe that is why Pixar created the animated movie Soul to help us humans understand that our soul is here to learn lessons and experience life in this physical form. This is what it said online about the movie Soul. The Pixar movie Soul explores the meaning of life, challenging the idea that purpose is solely defined by career or ambition. It suggests that life's richness lies in appreciating everyday experiences, human connections and the simple joys that makes us feel alive, rather than solely pursuing a singular grand ambition.

Speaker 2:

Back to my friend. So he didn't have an answer right away. That's okay. The soul takes time to digest the medicine of a lesson. It can be like a pill that is too big to swallow. We need to break it down into pieces before we can fully digest it.

Speaker 2:

Therefore, two months have passed, but this morning he texted me. This is what he said. You were right. It took me a while, but I understand the questions now. Thank you, god bless you, my friend.

Speaker 2:

Ever since you asked me those questions and told me to think about it, I haven't been able to get it out of my head. Over time it changed me in so many ways, all for the good. My list is endless. Endless, that's the word he used. Endless, because once you shift your perception from wound to wisdom, the whole story begins to change. The pain didn't disappear, but it no longer is the center of the story. Let me make this crystal clear the rawness story.

Speaker 2:

Let me make this crystal clear the rawness. The open wound was no longer picked at daily. The wisdom he gathered and integrated within his consciousness released the invisible etheric emotional cords which were the main reason he was still energetically in pain from the thoughts of grief, sadness, heartbreak and shame. Instead, what spiraled to the surface was a deeper knowing, a soul recognition. Thus the experience came bearing gifts, even if they were wrapped in heartbreak.

Speaker 2:

Once we step out of the human experience and align with the soul's purpose, we begin to look for the lessons and the gifts within the grief. That is when the entire universe rearranges itself and responds to our call to awaken and remember, to remember who and what we are. You are more than this physical form. And he got it. It just took him a little while to grasp the concept, because the grief was overwhelming and kept him trapped in 3D human consciousness. We are not here to suffer. We are here to expand, learn, grow and evolve into a higher state of consciousness. That is why these painful life lessons serve a positive purpose. Without chaos, there would be no need for change or expansion.

Speaker 2:

And the reality is that we cannot see it when we are stuck in the lower thought patterns, behaviors or expansion. And the reality is that we cannot see it when we are stuck in the lower thought patterns, behaviors or beliefs. We must spiral upward, and that takes courage, because our prideful ego wants to keep us stuck and controlled by our negative emotions. It's almost like a fear virus is controlling us and we need to detox. Those who can master their emotions are brave warriors, because it takes a great deal of strength to stand in the face of contempt, deception and fear. We grab hold of the courage within us to see it for what it truly is, in the face of another wanting to destroy or cripple us. It is not about you, dear one. It is all about them feeling small, out of control, powerless, weak and insignificant. It is like a mirror projection that blinds us from seeing the truth. But it is not a light that blinds us, but the dark shadows of deception and trickery.

Speaker 2:

The trick for us humans is to learn how to see past the human experience and into our soul's lesson here on earth through the eyes of compassion, wisdom and strength for what it is, not what society, family or social media wants you to believe. When we all learn this trick, we will be in alignment with our true power and purpose, aligned with our soul's purpose to evolve, expand and gain a deeper understanding of life on earth. What felt like punishment becomes initiation. In fact, what seems like a loss becomes liberation, and what hurts you now humbles and heals you simply by stepping out of the human experience and into the soul's journey here on earth. That is why I say that everyone is a teacher and student to one another.

Speaker 2:

Are you still confused, or have I nailed it? Here are some examples. One if your parents sucked at parenting and you are an awesome parent, that's a gift. You have broken the cycle of generational trauma and abuse by modeling what an awesome parent is like for your children. You should be proud of this achievement instead of stuck in disappointment that your parents sucked at parenting, because we must remember, the way that they were parented was much, much worse than yours. So count your blessings.

Speaker 2:

Two your ex left you for another. When we begin to begin the healing process, we eventually realize that we don't want him back. Good riddance, and I feel sorry for the next victim. We recognize that this person taught us what genuine love is not. Taught us what genuine love is not, and now we are open to discovering and experiencing authentic love one day, either through friendship, owning a pet or having a partner.

Speaker 2:

Number three some people are here to teach us about self-respect, why we should not settle for less, why boundaries are necessary, how we should give and receive, and that we are worthy of receiving. Where everyone was verbally abused, you will learn the importance of why we should not weaponize our words to wound another, how to speak from our gentle hearts and not our wounded hearts or ego. That is a gift. The lesson was painful, but you can break that cycle of abuse. But you can break that cycle of abuse. And last one, number five unconditional love is the hardest lesson to learn. That is what my friend had to learn and it hurt.

Speaker 2:

He wanted his ex to stop doing drugs, selling her body to purchase drugs and go to rehab, but she refused. Purchase drugs and go to rehab, but she refused, threatened to even kill herself. His love for her was so deep but instead of feeling like a failure because he couldn't save her to heal and learn life lessons, he had to see it from a higher perspective. It is like that saying you can take a horse to water but you cannot force it to drink. He wanted her to drink, but her soul did not. She is a profound teacher for him.

Speaker 2:

I know this might seem like woo-woo stuff, but it's the truth and it's what helps us heal, to detach from the grief and remove the veil that keeps us stuck in fear. He even texted me back when I shared this concept and he said you're very good at it. With a smile emoji. He feels so blessed and you can too one day. This is the alchemy of consciousness Transitioning from 3D to 4D and removing the veil that blocks our ability to see the truth behind the pain, tears and heartache. Some of us might not like this truth, but this is how we evolve as a species. We get to decide how long we intend to or want to suffer, as seen in the story of Sue, who was stuck in people-pleasing. I realize in my healing journey that this is the missing golden key for transformation and soul remembrance. For example, remember the rules for being human from the ancient transcripts. I have not shared this wisdom on this platform yet and I've only shared it on my other website and podcast, master the Upper Rooms of Human Consciousness. So let me read this ancient wisdom the rules for being human. One you'll receive a body. You might like it or not, but it will be yours for the entire period.

Speaker 2:

Round Two you will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called Life. Each day in this school, you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid. Three there are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error. You're experimenting. The failed experiments are a much part of the process of the experiment that ultimately works. Four a lesson is repeated until it is learned. A lesson will repeat to you in various forms until you have learned it. Then you can go on to the next lesson.

Speaker 2:

Number five learning lessons does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned. Six there is no better than here is no better than here. When your there has become here, you will simply obtain another there that will again look better than here. Number seven others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself. It reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself. Number eight what you make if your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours. And number nine the answer lie inside you. The answer of life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

Speaker 2:

Since I am raw and honest, I want to remind everyone about the gifts and lessons toxic and narcissistic people gave us. If you read my book, you're familiar with my pain story. I was dragged through court for my spiritual beliefs. The lies he told left me speechless. I froze in shock. Therefore, I was trying to please and appease everyone, to reveal the truth, but nobody would listen to me. Instead, the legal system believed the narcissistic smear campaign against me. Therefore, I was devastated and angry. I almost quit everything. I even lost faith in humanity and our Creator.

Speaker 2:

But the Divine sent me a Catholic nun, someone who matched my PTSD, to remind me of my light, my truth calling from the divine and soul purpose. You would not be listening to this wisdom if our creator had not sent her. After one session with me, she knew that the divine spoke to me and worked with me to heal, not harm, another. I do it through compassion, kindness and unconditional love. I mirror to them what they seek because I see the light and potential within everyone I meet. Therefore, the most significant blessings and gifts for me have been this podcast and blog post content.

Speaker 2:

Our creator and others called me to create this information to help heal the world, because I could have sat in my pain and felt sorry for myself, cut off from the world, close my practice and believe the world is just too dark for me to handle. I never got justice, sympathy or kindness. Therefore, everyone can go to hell. I could have allowed all this divine, ancient sacred wisdom and teachings to stay bottled inside of me and let others suffer like I was. Suffering inside, was suffering inside, yet I would not be true to myself or my soul's purpose. All this information you hear or see is divinely called upon for me to write and shed light upon, because currently the world needs more hope, inspiration, guidance and people are waking up as a societal whole.

Speaker 2:

We are tired of the 3D framework and our hearts and soul now yearn to live, not merely exist. We learn to live in a more harmonious world, such as 4D and 5D ways of thinking, acting and behaving. Our hearts and soul desire peace, not war. Clean water, not toxic water, organic foods instead of foods filled with pesticides and other chemicals that cause disease within the body. We want affordable housing, child care and other reusable natural forms of energy. Imagine a world of connection and community rather than one of separation and fear. It would be amazing. Therefore, if I wanted to heal and then heal the world, I had to get out of my human experience and into soul remembrance. I had to learn the art of forgiving the unforgivable, how to accept and communicate with toxic people. How to spot the traits and behaviors of toxic or narcissistic people, to understand that we create narcissists and sociopaths. Flip the script pain story into self-empowerment and rebirth. Remember why my soul is here and let go of my attachments to the human experience and rise above it like the phoenix. When someone is our mirror. Now, some people are mirrors and I must explain this concept.

Speaker 2:

I was working with a podcast lady and she shared her painful story for about 30 minutes. It was like she had a lot to say and she did. Her physical pain is linked to her relationship with her vulnerable, narcissistic mother. This woman makes her feel and think that she is undeserving and will never be good enough. Her mother, when she remarried, never included her in any family gatherings or photos. She felt abandoned by her and judged. When she tried to reason with her mother and explain how she felt, she would guilt, trip her and fill her with shame. I could hear the unspoken words of why, why, why. Yet I knew the why and I had to shine my light into those dark, painful corners where the truth exists.

Speaker 2:

When I said to her, your mother is your mirror, she was puzzled. She said what do you mean? I told her she is the polar opposite of you. You are here to heal, not harm. She gets off on judging people and you believe in equality and acceptance. You are kind, loving, funny, rebellious and refuse to conform, yet you remain liberated. She looks down upon everyone, uses your physical pain conditions to gain sympathy from others instead of supporting you and is a miserable human being. Count your blessings. You are not her. She is here for a reason and she is a teacher of the polar opposite. You inspire growth with your podcast, but she does not, because she is stuck in a 3D mindset. That is why she cannot understand you. Her soul signed up for this job to be your teacher in this lifetime.

Speaker 2:

For example, you use words of kindness instead of verbal abuse, kindness instead of verbal abuse. And how she has power and control over you is by lowering your vibration, by making you believe or think that there is something wrong with you, when in fact there is nothing wrong with you. It is your pain story that keeps you stuck. We must understand that we are multiidimensional, encompassing both the soul and the human experience. When we do not understand this wisdom and truth, that is when they have complete power and control over you the way you think, act, behave, believe and live your life. And the truth is she is excellent at controlling you.

Speaker 2:

Can you now see the difference and why she is here? She is your mirror and that is why, when you try to talk about the traumatic experiences with her, she says what trauma experiences with her. She says what trauma she cannot relate. She stuffs down her feelings, is stuck in denial and pretends that her shit doesn't stink. Can you see the truth now? Do you get it?

Speaker 2:

She was quiet for a while. I could see the wheels spinning in her mind. Then she said you are correct. I never thought about it from that perspective. I could see her pain and heartache softening with this new realization and wisdom. Then I said she is your teacher. You have transformed your pain into empowerment by creating a fabulous podcast about the struggles of dealing with physical pain. This is a gift. Now we need to transform that physical pain into a place of healing for you. Transform that physical pain into a place of healing for you, this pain can soften and no longer feel like a life sentence. So I ask you now, dear one dear soul, on the path, what have you lived through that still feels like a wound, but might actually be a teacher? Like a wound, but might actually be a teacher? Ask yourself what was the gift the person came to give you, what was the gift they came to provide you with? What did you learn? What was this experience here to show me? What soul pattern was it mirroring that I cannot see or understand? What strength did I grow because of it? What truth did I reclaim? What part of me came home? Let yourself write the list. You might be surprised how long it is Endless.

Speaker 2:

Maybe Pain is part of the human experience, not the soul's. But staying stuck in the story is a choice. You can rewrite it and you can find the golden nuggets in the ashes. Just like the phoenix rises from the ashes, we can too. I did, he did, you can too one day, and when you come upon that day of self-discovery and awakening, you too will feel blessed instead of wounded and shattered inside.

Speaker 2:

So again, I ask you now? What pain story are you still carrying? What memory loops inside of you like a ghost with no home? And, more importantly, are you ready to find the lesson it came to teach you? Are you ready to find the lesson it came to teach you? Because the truth is that person, that relationship, that rupture, it may have broken something up inside of you, yes, but maybe what broke was the shell and what's being born now. Is you the real you? Yes, the awakened you, the wiser, more compassionate, more embodied you. So here's your invitation Take a breath and ask yourself what was this experience here to show me?

Speaker 2:

What mirror did I hold up to my soul? What did I reclaim because of it? What boundaries did I learn to hold? What love did I learn to give myself? Write it down, speak it out loud, let the answers surprise you, and if you feel like saying my list is endless, then welcome, soul traveler. You've found the lesson. You've crossed the threshold from victim to alchemist, from broken to becoming. Here are some journal prompts and take these into your own sacred practice.

Speaker 2:

What pain story have I been repeating? What soul lesson might it be carrying? What gift or strength did I gain because of it? Am I ready to let the old story soften, and here is a positive affirmation you can write down and repeat throughout your day I am not my pain, I am the soul who rose from it. Like always, I have a gift for you, dear one.

Speaker 2:

I have created a guided meditation titled Finding the Gift in the Pain. Listen as often as you need to crack open that shell of pain. This gentle meditation guides you inward to receive the wisdom, reclaim the gift and rewrite the story. As we close for today, remember you are not your pain. You are the one who witnessed it, learned from it and chose to rise anyway. This is the sacred art of the soul's transformation, and this is what we're here to do together. Thank you for walking this path with me. If this episode touched you, share it with someone who's still stuck in pain. Their pain story, be the mirror of transformation, be the midwife of their awakening. Until next time, stay open and soft and remember the lesson and teachings are already inside you, in love and light. Angela Meyer, carrie Logan Bye.
