The Shayna Show

Are You Purposely Staying Confused?

Shayna Season 1 Episode 2

Sometimes in life, we purposely stay confused so that we do not have to act. We give away our power to san unknown that never gives an answer, because there is no answer. But we spend our time waiting. And we end up waiting for too long.

When do you stay in a state of confusion so that you do not have to take the next step?

Well, I stayed "confused" for so long on creating this podcast. I didn't know if I should have started a podcast or video channel. So instead of choosing one and going for it, I didn't make a decision and ended up not starting either.

This is your time to start!

Come with me along my journey of creating this podcast. Learn from my mistakes and realize that you are not alone. We are all, after all, in the same boat.

Whatever you believe becomes your reality. This is Shayna Weldon. Thank you for tuning in. It is time to elevate your life. Twice a week, I give guidance for you to pursue your passions and live your best life. And it's go time!

I purposely stay in a state of confusion, so I do not need to pursue what I want to pursue. Where in your life are you purposely stay confused so you don't have to pursue your next action? Take your next step?  Where are you staying confused?

See, I called my friend Collina, my really good friend, and I asked him if I should do a podcast or if I should do a YouTube or which platform I should do and I don't know which one is the best.

And I realize than in asking him, first, I already knew the answer. And second, I wanted to stay confused. So it makes sense and it doesn't. It doesn't make sense because I'm saying I want to stay confused, that I just don't know the answer.

So I guess I stay confused because I really don't exactly know the answer because there is no right answer on which platform I should use. I know that. Yet I stay confused because it's easier to sit here and stay confused than to actually choose a platform and take action.

So in asking him if I should do YouTube or should I do a podcast? Well, Youtube is better for money. And I said. Well, if this was about money, I would frickin be a civil engineer. And I feel more comfortable with the podcast because the focus isn't on how I look, it's about the content. And then I realize that I knew the answer all along. I need to stop sitting here and saying I don't know and trying to find this right answer that I know isn't there.

I think it's important to ask yourself, when do you ask questions when you already know the answer? So usually we ask questions because we want to hear a certain answer back. Most people do that. Should I wear this red dress, which makes me look super cute or this pink dress?

Well, the answer is already in the question. It's the red dress woman. When we ask it. And if our friends says pink, we would say, I don't know, red. Why do you ask in the first place? Or sometimes we'll ask red or pink and whatever our friend says, we will wear. As if their opinion somehow is better or more qualified than ours. I do this too. That's why I asked Collina. I was talking about YouTuber podcast, and if he told me YouTube, I would have done it, and if it went horribly, I could then blame him.

Because he told me to do the YouTube. So it's his responsibility and not mine. So now I don't have any responsibility in this. It's not my fault. I'm not to blame. I'm not in the wrong. And I hope you realize in your life when you ask a question, what do you really want to hear or why are you asking the question? Just to be aware of what's going on.

So you already know what you should really be doing. But instead of sitting down and really asking yourself this question, sitting in a space, preferably a quiet space or wherever, that gets you thinking and really in touch with who you want to be and what you want to create. Instead of getting to a place like that, you ask your friend on a whim what their thoughts are anyway. And you wither follow that, or you don't. Or you stay confused and then you don't move forward.

And then you are a week later not doing anything, staying confused, asking all your friends questions as if their answers were right. Though, you know, there's really no right answer.

So I hope from this you take away to really go after whatever you want!

And instead of asking questions and looking for an answer, to look for the answer in yourself and go for it. Wear whichever dress makes you feel the most confident in. Take whichever platform you feel most comfortable in. Pursue whichever direction that really resonates with what you want to do and then do it and see what happens.
