Welcome to The Pursuit of Wholeness Podcast! My name is Sally and I am obsessed with all things wellness! The basics like food, nutrition, and fitness, and all the other things that make us feel well, like mind-body medicine such as meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, thought work, and more tangible things finding balance, creating better habits, and figuring out how to do all the things and feel our best as a woman, a mother, a multi-faceted human. And I understand this balancing act because in addition to being a dietitian, and an integrative wellness practitioner I am also a mom of three busy kids, just trying to do my best every day. I am excited you are here as I share my knowledge and experience and we seek and learn together about to feel well, be healthy and live a fulfilling life, In our own pursuit of wholeness!

24. Starting a New Exercise Routine with Andy Twellman M.ED., CSCS, FAFS
Today I am talking to Andy Twellman, the owner and head trainer at Driven Performance Training in Austin...and my husband!
Andy is an expert in training, movement and pain reduction. I am excited to share his wisdom with you!

- Start developing a routine. The most important exercise is one you will do regularly and consistently!
- Begin where you are! Don't try to go out too hard (or where you were in your 20s) because it's not sustainable, and you may get hurt!
- It's never too late to start! You can start a fitness journey at any time!
- Try to incorporate resistance and weight training! Muscle mass is so important to healthy aging.
