King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12: "Two are better than one... If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
In this episode, we learn that there is indeed strength in numbers and nowhere is this more true than in holy relationships. We demonstrate from the gospels and other sources that contrary to the world that teaches that strength is characterized through independence, Jesus imparts strength to his disciples by sending them out 'two by two' to clearly demonstrate that God's Presence is in their relationship. And for the disciples that experience His Presence in this way, a whole new world rises before them.
