When two people embrace, they wrap their arms around each other to form a unified whole. The two join together as one. It is this joining that pictures our natural state of being as God created us.
Unfortunately, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, the originally unified whole split into seemingly separate independent parts. Ever since, humanity has attempted to live as if these separate parts were wholes. They are not. And because they are not, human history has been riddled with wars, famines, sickness, suffering, and death needlessly for thousands of years. When we lost our wholeness, we lost our peace.
Jesus came to correct our error and to teach us how to once again restore ourselves to wholeness. But how could he do that perfectly unless he was joined as one to another human being himself? In this episode, we learn that Jesus was indeed joined as one to another human being . We identify who that human being was and how their relationship impacts the way we interpret his teachings.
