Ohio Water Means Business. An Ohio Water Partnership podcast
Ohio Water Means Business, the Ohio Water Partnership podcast series, is setting out to prove that water is not only Ohio’s greatest natural resource, but one of Ohio’s greatest economic ADVANTAGES. Water fuels Ohio's economy: small businesses, manufacturers, restaurants, tourism, research, and the outdoors. And does it all, 24/7. Without water, there's no reeling in walleye from Lake Erie, no boating on Buckeye Lake and no beer at happy hour . The Ohio Water Partnership proudly brings you this informative and yes, motivational podcast about a remarkable Ohio resource for all of us to highlight, preserve, and celebrate.

It's June which means people are in, on and enjoying Ohio waters statewide. For this episode of 'Ohio Water Means Business', we have the very latest numbers for Ohio's boating industry and they're flat-out stunners. Recreational boating pumps $6 billion, yes with a B, into our yearly economy and provides nearly 20,000 direct and indirect jobs. The $6B number now eclipses the amount from the RV industry. Joining us to talk about it are Michelle Burke, President of the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association, Shawn Kasych of the Kasych Group and the Honorable State Senator Kent Smith. Sen. Smith's district borders Lake Erie and he's a fierce champion of both protecting and promoting our precious resource. Shawn is also a principal of the Ohio Water Partnership and rounds out the conversation with waters' dynamic importance to virtually every aspect of the broader economy.
