Like you really came back to listen to another episode . Like , oh my God . Like , oh my God , I'm so excited . Today's episode of Mind Over Matter we'll be talking about your thoughts , your mind , your subconscious versus your conscious mind . We're going to be talking about imagination , creativity and a whole lot more . So if this is something you're interested in , kick back , relax and enjoy this episode .

Nobody tells you how hard it is to rewire your brain to allow amazing things to happen to you After so much hurt , after so much loss . Allow amazing things to happen to you . After so much hurt , after so much loss and so much trauma , it's so easy to go back to that negative cycle . Let life happen , let it flow . Stop resisting it , stop questioning it .

We live in a society where , if you're optimistic , it's always challenged or always questioned . Continue walking in your purpose and living in what God tells you . You are not what the world is telling you you are . Speak life into your days , even if it may sound narcissistic at first . Normalize happiness , joy , peace . Too many times we normalize just self-doubt and complacency . This cycle can be broken by rewiring your subconscious mind . Rewiring your brain is something that takes a lot of work , but it's an amazing thing when you do get to the end of what you're trying to accomplish . When it comes to just reengineering your mind , rewiring your mind always starts with the subconscious mind , and I want to break down what that is . Watching a movie , for example , like there's a bunch of thousands , millions of images flashing past , but you can't recall every single image , but your brain still received it .

So , that's the subconscious , okay , things that were like from when you're born . Certain things , experiences happen to you , so we're always like taking in things from , like our environment , from soon as we open our eyes , and I think , like your subconscious is basically the things that you've taken in , that you're not aware of . The best time to train an animal or a person is in their childhood , your deep memories that you didn't really pay attention to , but you still took it in . And then the conscious , the conscious is what you're able to recall .

Right .

And what you're able to trace back . You know what I mean , like things you're aware of Right , like , okay , I don't trust niggas because my mom Right was a single mom and my dad wouldn't shit . That's why . But then there's a deeper thing to it too that you have to trace back . That's the subconscious . It's like , okay , it's something deeper there . You know what I mean , but it's so hard to rewire your subconscious , your habits , because , like that's , it's hard to be aware of it , because it's in your subconscious , it's in your subconscious .

You know what I mean , what you grew up in , what you used to do yeah , and when you're living in it it's hard to like , pinpoint okay , I move like this because of this happened to me and this happened to me , you know .

Right right .

And that's why I think this way , that's why I believe this , that's why I have these habits . It's so important to even have that awareness and to just go through that whole therapy process , trying to find a good therapist , till this day till this day I cannot find one like yeah you just don't be clicking .

Yeah , it's tough , but you gotta just find that . Find one who's interested , like who's highly interested , exactly , I think just the zoom , the , the whole Zoom sessions .

Speaker 2

Yeah , no , that's not personable , yeah it feels very distant .

I'm just like I want to be on the couch with the pillow laying down on my back .

Like girl you're not going to believe what happened this week .

Speaker 3

That's how it should be . That's how it should be , and you should always look forward to it every time . That's how it should be . That's how it should be , and you should always look forward to it every time . That's how I got through .

Speaker 2

When it comes to just re-engineering , my mind is that I have to fake it until I make it in a way . You know what I mean , I know what you mean , I have to literally picture myself doing big things before it actually ?

Speaker 3

falls into place . It's funny I've been told that so many times Like you got to fake it till you make it Like in the workspace sometimes .

How's that working out ?

Yeah , I can never fake it till , I make it , but , like you know , Wait why ? Because just the word fake it's not in me , I can't fake it no scratch all the way . I like that I can't . You're a real one . Yeah , I'm too real If I feel the way you're going to see it . That's why .

I always say I'm probably going to be .

Speaker 3

I won't say fake it , then it needs a better saying . It needs to be a better saying because a lot of times I I've been told that like on the floor or like by like people , and I'm like I can't do it , like , and if I can't do it then I probably shouldn't be here , like you know , like in a sense , um , but that's what I said I'll probably be like the greatest actor ever just because I , like you , could see my emotions all the time when I'm feeling it . You know .

Speaker 2

So it's just a matter of um , just finding the right space , because I won't say fake it till you make it . I'll say , like doing everything right now in your reality , as if you already are the version of yourself you want to be . That's better . Yeah , I like that . I know that's very wordy . No , but I understand that completely .

Speaker 3

Yeah , it's because of , like you said , rewiring your brain . That's part of the process , exactly Of doing that , and if you know that you are this person , you can go to the next level . You have to automatically think that and be in that . Yeah , present yourself in that way everywhere you go .

Speaker 2

You just made me think of something Like when you , when a lion is raised to feel like it's a sheep , right , and you continuously tell like the lion is trained to move like a sheep .

Unleashing Your Inner Power

Speaker 2

When the lion gets in other environments , the lion is going to think that it's a sheep . It doesn't see its power . And that's what sometimes , when you do adopt certain ideas , that's what it does to you . It domesticates you , it makes you feel like you can't do certain things . That's why it's so important to do that work , that shadow work and re-engineering your mind , because sometimes the ideas you have are making you like you're Superman in a room full of kryptonite , because you don't realize your power , because you haven't done that . Is that like ?

yeah , you haven't done that .

Speaker 2

The work , the work to like , consciously try to just make everything match right what you want to be yeah , what you want to be , not what other people are telling you you are , even if you don't go through therapy like the conventional way , like just to be more mindful about the reason you're feeling the way you're feeling , right , right , because , like , these emotions are always passing . You know what I mean . Yeah , but to like trace it back is really where the rewiring happens , and when you consciously try to pinpoint why you're moving out of this like emotion , that's where the rewiring happens . You know what I mean and it's so important because , like , I was reading this book called like the Body Keeps Score and it was talking about like we are creatures or we are beings of like habit .

Speaker 2

Humans , they learn off of patterns , they learn off of habits . Kids , like children , they learn off of habits repetition , they learn off of patterns , they learn off of habits . Kids , like children , they learn off of habits repetition . And that's literally the way our brain is wired Certain neurons in the brain go off based off of what it remembers .

Speaker 2

You know what I mean . If you're always sad , those neurons are always going to be going off .

Speaker 3

That's your default setting in a way . Yeah , you , I mean . I know exactly what you mean , because even when I'm stressed , I go straight to trolleys .

Speaker 2

That's my default . Yeah , the neurons in my brain ? Yeah , because your brain like damn , I don't feel good . Let me try to pick up my dopamine and do this . And when you make a habit out of that , it's like it's kind of gets really exactly daily , depending on what you're doing .

Speaker 2

Exactly . Hmm , yeah , that's deep . That's why it's so important , especially as you get older , to try to do the work to rewire your mindset in such a way that it matches the person you want to be Right , because if you're not doing that , then it's like you're literally doing the opposite of that . You're just being complacent and you're going to . Life is just going to present you with the same thing over and over .

I think the imagination is so powerful too , because that's where everything stems from . Is you like creating up this whole narrative in your head of you completing something and you achieving something , and you have to think it first before it becomes reality ? Made it to the end of another episode . Make sure you tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend . Mother , that is to mind over matter , baby .
