Hello, friends.
I made a post on IG about today’s topic a while back but wanted to expand upon it a little here. I’ll be diving more fully into all of this in my upcoming book - but the book is not in any kind of rush. I’m taking my time on it, which is a first for me - instead of going at the pace of my extreme hyperfocus, I’m allowing the natural ebbs and flows of my energy to move through me. This kind of book isn’t one you can pound out in a few months. So keep on the lookout, but don’t be waiting with bated breath. Ok? Ok.
A few months ago I created a survey that covered lots of questions having to do with the general life arc of fellow autistics, especially late-diagnosed autistics. I received hundreds of responses and was fascinated - but not surprised - to learn that the majority of us experienced an arc that was essentially the same in many crucial ways. Of course the finer details will always be different because we’re dealing with individual life experience, but there was a basic framework - and in today’s episode I’ll be outlining that framework.
What does it mean to have an awakening? What does life look and feel like during and after such an experience? How can we navigate the shock, dark night of the soul, and deep discomfort of being spiritually blown wide open? This and more is the exploration in today's topic.

Hi all, it's been a minute! In this episode I dive into discussing where I'm at in my post-autism diagnosis process, how unmasking has been going, how my burnout is doing and the ways in which I've gained new understanding of this epic unfolding. In this episode, I discuss my own run-in with a corrupt predator under the guise of a Kundalini teacher, and how new age spirituality manipulates narratives around Kundalini in order for capitalist profit and egoic platforming. This is an excerpt from my NEW ebook, Kundalini - which is available through serpentfireshop.ca!
In this episode, I tell the story of that fateful day - November 17th, 2006 - when my entire life changed overnight and I had a full-blown, spontaneous, Kundalini awakening as a result of psychedelic drugs. This is an excerpt from my NEW ebook: Kundalini - available via serpentfireshop.ca!
In this episode, which is in celebration of the launch of my latest oracle deck, YOUR WISE ANIMAL BODY, we discuss what is the nervous system, and how do we regulate it?
In the frenetic, late stage capitalist, consumer-driven, production-pressurized world we currently live in, we often must push aside the call from within, the little to big signals from the animal body we call home.
The body is always asking us to listen. It always has an interesting landscape, weather patterns, changing tides - there is a whole world in ‘inner space.’ And I would argue that the body always knows what it needs to be its best, most optimal, self.
We’re just trying to live our lives in a way that feels remotely healthy, aligned and safe. So how do we do this? Is it even possible?
The answer is yes - so let's take a little deep dive into what the nervous system is, how trauma impacts us, and what we can do about it.
You can preorder YOUR WISE ANIMAL BODY here!
Welcome to Season 3 of the She Wolfe Podcast!
In this episode, we explore the question that has been on all of our minds these days: How, and why, should we continue on like nothing's wrong, while the world continues to careen into the abyss?
How has a sense of meaning and purpose been indoctrinated?
How do we live mindfully in late-stage capitalism?
In the final episode of this series, I give a platform to other chronically ill voices. I asked a while back in my Instagram stories, what do you want people to know about being chronically ill? Your answers are here, as well as my commentary and exploration of them.
In this episode, we explore what medical gaslighting is and how it traumatizes folks who are simply trying to get answers for their health concerns. We then investigate how new age spirituality and alternative medicine swoops in to rescue those desperately seeking answers, with the promise of empowerment and healing.
In this axis episode, we cover the complex, nuanced territory of the mind/body connection, and how mental and emotional landscapes can influence physical health. We discuss this in relation to how modern spirituality has us feeling guilty for being sick, that we want to be sick or have brought it upon ourselves from having poor mental health, poor boundaries etc. We explore how spiritual bypassing, magical thinking, toxic positivity (all tendrils of ableism) work together to create this narrative that new agers use to gain clout and line their pockets.
In this second episode, we cover more important terms that are related to new age spirituality - concepts and practices that are harmful, dangerous, and fall under the guise of 'transcendence' and 'enlightenment.'
In this new series, we are taking on something rather big: the confluence of chronic illness, ableism and modern, new age spirituality. It is a deeply nuanced topic, something that the new age loves to bypass. So we are here, ensuring that (hopefully) all of the details are covered.
The axis of this series is what is our responsibility, or fault, as sick people in an ableist world, and what is modern spirituality trying to force-feed us? How much of physical illness is mental? Can we heal ourselves simply by thinking more positively?
This first episode is fairly brief and concise, describing what chronic illness is, what ableism is, and how they find themselves together.
In this final episode of the LDN series, we discuss what's wonderful about being neurodivergent, and how to come out as ND to family, friends and the world at large - should you choose to do so.
In this episode we cover a lot of ground of terms that you may need to become familiar with for your LDN journey: sensory issues, having to do with our sensitivity to sounds, lights, tastes, textures etc. Executive function: having to do with our "OS" (operating system) and how efficiently we can organize, plan etc. Functioning labels: ie "high functioning" and "low functioning" autism, and how these are obtuse, dismissive and offensive descriptors. And lastly, we touch on stimming and RSD, rejection sensitivity dysphoria, which is an extreme sensitivity to rejection (real and perceived) that ND people tend to have.
In this episode, we plunge into the tough subject of losing vital relationships when we receive our ND diagnosis. Sometimes people cannot come with us into the next chapter of our lives, and it is very painful. This ep seeks to acknowledge and understand that passage, and the grief that comes with it.
In this episode, we do a deep dive into "masking" - aka camouflaging - our autistic / neurodivergent traits. What is masking? What does it feel like? What does it accomplish? How does it contribute to an inauthentic life, and burnout? All of that and more is covered here.
In this episode, we dive into the subject of ableism - how it works in society, how it is a systemic and interpersonal issue, and how internalized ableism comes to the fore after a neurodivergence diagnosis.
In this episode, we do a deep dive into burnout - what it is, how it feels, what mechanisms are behind it, why it's difficult to come out of it, and ways we can work to accept it.
In this second episode of The LDN journey, we discuss the important role of grief after diagnosis. The life and notions of identity that we possessed before are forever changed, and we must cope with the loss of what was, even if the identity we had before was not authentically ours.
Welcome to this reinvigorated She Wolfe Podcast. I'm obviously a little (or a lot) spotty with this way of sharing, but that's because....drum roll....I'm autistic! And using my voice exhausts me.
But I felt very compelled and moved to share about my journey with being a late diagnosed autistic (+ ADHD), so I'm going to be releasing a series on my experiences and insights.
This episode is all about imposter syndrome, and how it affects us late diagnosed neurodivergents (LDNs for short).
