The Mystery Revealed

The Apostle Paul speaks of a "mystery" that was hidden before but is now clear: Christ lives in us. This isn't just a future hope; it's a present reality that impacts our daily lives. Romans 8:10-11 (NIV) tells us: "But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you."

1. Christ Living in Us

When we accept Christ into our lives, He makes His home or takes up residence in our hearts. He lives in us. This isn’t just about believing in Him; it’s about having His presence with us. Romans 8:10 (NIV) assures us: "But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 

2. The Change Christ Brings

Christ’s presence in us changes how we live and act. We must live and act according to the word of God.  It helps us become more like Him, showing His love and kindness to others. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) says: "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

3. Our Hope of Glory

Our "hope of glory" is both a present blessing and a future promise. It's a present blessing and a future promise. Right now, it means living with the certainty of Christ’s power in us. In the future, it means looking forward to sharing in God’s eternal glory. Romans 5:2 (NIV) tells us: "Through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God."

Conclusion

Having Christ in us is not just an idea but a real, powerful presence that changes our lives. It gives us hope and transforms us, both now and in the future.  So, let us live with the joy and assurance that come from knowing Christ is with us every day.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of having Christ live in us. Please help us to understand and embrace the hope of glory this brings. Transform our lives by Your Spirit and let Your presence shine through us. Guide us each day with the assurance of Your power and the promise of Your glory.
