Speaker 1

When I first came across her prophetic art I don't even know how I found her to be honest with you Through social media . Social media gets a bad rap sometimes , but I say there are good things that can come through social media . I want to say it was probably about three years ago when I was walking through transition of being released and freed from the corporate side of healthcare in 2021 . I came across a painting that she did , I want to say it was the name of it was set the captains free , the bird cage . I have it hanging up on my wall .

Speaker 1

The prior year I had actually gotten a tattoo with a bird cage and a dove coming out of the door . I was like , oh my goodness , I think that was probably one of the first paintings I'd ever seen you put out there . Of course I bought it . I have it hanging up . I also have one of the lock the heart one with the key that's flying . I don't remember the name of that one , but anyways , I would love for you to just share more about yourself . How did you get started doing this prophetic art ? I know that so many that have creative bends in them . They might have that creativity locked up . I would love for you to just share a little bit more of your journey and how you got started .

Speaker 2

Sure , thank you . Thank you for having me . I really really appreciate it . That painting that you were talking about is called Key of Destiny . It actually was a personal prophetic painting for someone named destiny at the time , but it's just like all the paintings the Lord is so beautiful that he can take something that was for one person and it can minister to so many people because he's saying similar things to different people . I've been painting for about 20 years now . I got saved at 20 when I was 20 . I'm 50 . I just celebrated 50 years this year . Last year I got saved at 20 . I got married , saved within two months from each other , and just began a journey , my husband and I both walking with the Lord . I became a homeschool mom . I just loved my children . I have three boys and now I just have my first grandson to . Oh , how exciting , yeah , this is really awesome , amazing .

Speaker 2

Absolutely . And the journey started . We were obviously , we were in church Whenever the church doors were open . We would be serving in whatever church we were at at the time , because we've lived in several places .

Speaker 2

But when I was around 30 , I just really felt like I didn't really know who I was . I was a mom , I was a wife , I served , but my heart was to really discover why God created me and what was my purpose . So the Lord started taking me on a journey of just sitting with him . He said can you just come and sit with me and not pray , not say anything , Just come be with me . And I was like , okay , it felt really strange at first , but I did that for a season and then in that time he just started revealing to me what he put in me as a child , what I loved as a child , which I was always very creative and I loved to sing and dance and draw and climb trees .

Speaker 2

And he said he just kind of put it in me that I wanted to paint . And so I thought , well , I'm just going to ask for some paints . And so in 2004 , I asked my husband for some paints and canvas for Mother's Day and I sat down with a calendar to just copy the picture . And as I was painting it , the Holy Spirit said Amy , I've gifted you to use it for me .

Speaker 1

Wow .

Speaker 2

I was like , wow , okay , lord , what does that mean ? I had no idea . So I thought , well , I guess he wants me to bless his people , so I would paint still lifes and things like that and then just give him away , give him to people . And then in 2005 , we moved to Mississippi and one evening everybody was in bed . I was in the bed and the Lord told me to get up and paint . I was like , okay , so it was about midnight and I got up , got all my stuff out and put it on the table and I said , okay , lord , well , what do you want me to paint ? And he said I want you to paint the Holy Spirit . And I was like , what you know , what does the Holy Spirit look like ? And he showed me a very simple two-dimensional image and it was a vase with water kind of spilling out and swirling . And so I painted it and he showed me the colors and everything . And after that he said , from now on , you're going to paint what I show you .

Speaker 2

So I did that for several years . Just , you know whatever he would show me . And then people would start asking me hey , I had this vision . Can you paint this vision for me ? Can you do this and that . And so I just started doing that and I had a spiritual father that always encouraged me and he said I really just keep seeing you painting in church . And I was like what I've never , you know . I thought that was just the craziest idea . But one day he was actually going to be speaking one night and I thought I'm going to go ahead and try this . And so I set my stuff up in the back of the church and just thought , well , let's see what happens .

Speaker 2

And that morning the Lord had given me an image . Well , I felt , like the whole church , just . I just felt like a heaviness in the atmosphere and I wasn't sure is this me , is it them ? What's going on ? And I just thought , oh , the Lord is wanting to comfort his people . And so I drew a picture that morning . I was bringing a sketchbook to church at that time and I would just kind of sketch during the service , and I saw this a woman's face with a tear , and he was starting . I started to draw the Lord's hand just wiping away her tear , and the Lord said Amy , I don't wipe away tears , I catch them . I was like , oh . So I went to what I was drawing and fixed it with the Lord's hand underneath catching the tears , and that's what I painted that night , and so that was the first time I painted in public . That was 2009 . And so , anyway , I've been doing it ever since , and different conferences and events and things like that , sometimes at my church , yeah , yeah .

Speaker 1

Well , tell me a little bit . When you grew up , did you consider yourself Were you doodling ? Was that a big part of your life and maybe something kind of snagged it ? Because I've noticed that that's kind of a thing for a lot of women and what I kept hearing over the last few years , my spirit was that he's resurrecting creativity . Whether it's a voice got snagged singing , maybe somebody who was writing books when they were a child , or there's maybe something that came in their life like a trauma or something that just sideswapes that creativity in them , Is that something that you saw happen in your life ?

Speaker 2

Yes , absolutely . We grew up not I grew up not knowing the Lord . Our family didn't go to church or anything like that . And so when I was , I was always creative , very artsy . Like I said , I love to sing and dance and all that . And when I was in middle school , I remember my mother asking me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said I want to be an artist , and she really discouraged that . She's like you know , amy , you can't make a living at that . People aren't discovered until after they're dead , you don't . You know , you need to find something else where you can make some money and support yourself . And so I kind of just , you know , didn't realize it at the time , but it did really squash that . And so I remember in high school I would do like paint by numbers and things like that , but I wouldn't actually create anything . So it wasn't until , like I said , and I was 30 when the Lord really pulled that back out .

Speaker 1

And it's like a call to your call .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it really was . Yes , yeah .

Speaker 1

And I mean , I think that you know , there's times in our life where somebody can say something that can just squash that dream .

Speaker 1

And you know , what I've been saying to a lot of ladies lately is when you know what he's called you to do , and you know and you know , and you know .

Speaker 1

But when you're a child who isn't growing up in church , like myself , you don't know , you don't know your identity , you don't know what he's called you to do because you don't have that right . So when you know and you know and you know , even if somebody comes along and says , oh , you can't make money doing that , or you can't do that or you can't do this , if he's called you to it he will make a way and provision will come . And can you speak to that a little bit , because I know that you are , you're a pioneer in this area and again , you guys , this is a season about launching pioneers and I know that there's , you know Amy's a little , maybe a little more seasoned than some of us in doing this for several years . Could you just share a little bit about you know kind of that process and you know stepping into this , because I'm sure it wasn't just oh , I'm doing this thing .

Speaker 2

Oh , not at all .

Journey of Prophetic Art and Writing

Speaker 2

Actually , I remember one time I this , this woman , had just come back from Bethel . She went to our church and she , she had gone to the school of ministry there and she did like a little class for us and she just said , if , if money , time and relationships weren't a factor , what would you be doing ? And I remember thinking , oh wow , I know what I would do . I would paint and travel . And I had no idea I mean not even a slightest idea that the that was part of my calling at all at that time . But within five years , within five years , I was literally doing that . I was literally traveling to paint , which I didn't ever even put those two things together , you know . And so that was the process I , you know , started . You know , painting and services , and painting , you know , at conferences , and it was really interesting because the prophetic would just come out , you know , I would paint during the worship and then the , you know , whoever was ministering would get up and speak and it would be what I just painted , you know , and the word would already be there and I was . It would blow my mind so many times I mean , it still does sometimes , you know , it's like what that's so crazy ? That's exactly what God showed me , or exactly what he said . And anyway , probably let me I'm trying to think 2000 and I guess seven .

Speaker 2

I knew that the Lord wanted me , that I would run day . Right , I wanted to . I've always wanted to write . I didn't really , I just always thought I would be an author in some way and I didn't know if I'd be a , you know , a fiction author or nonfiction author . I didn't know that , but I did . That was another thing I used to love to do as a child . So in middle school I did . I wrote a lot of short stories and just I loved writing . And so the Lord made it very clear that I was going to write a book . And actually it was in 2000, . The Lord showed me I was going to write a book and I just didn't know what topic was .

Speaker 2

And as the journey went on , the Lord showed me that what I was doing , you know the prophetic art that it , because I didn't even when I first started doing it prophetic art , I didn't even know it was called that . You know , I didn't have a name for it . I didn't know what I was doing . It was just painting , you know , and I would , you know , worship the Lord while it was painting .

Speaker 2

But then the Lord started telling me to write it down and he kept , you know , urging me to put my kids back in school . In school because they were homeschooled and I was so fearful of that . But I knew he was telling me to do that and the I had someone pray for me one day after church and it just lifted that fear right off of me . It just I was just like set free from fear and so I put my kids in school and I knew that , okay , now I'm going to write . I'll have time to write , you know , and it took a while . I knew what . I sat down and wrote and I wrote the seven chapters that are actually in my book that I have now called Unlocked .

Speaker 1

I was going to ask you about that . I want you to share about that .

Speaker 2

But after those seven chapters and after I wrote it , I knew it wasn't done . It was like it's , it's , it's . It was small . It was so small and I just felt like you know , artists , they don't want to , they don't want to read about art , they want to do it . They're great . If you don't want to just read something , they want to do it .

Speaker 2

So it took , it took a while , but 2020 , oh , I know it was in 2013 , the Lord said okay , now that you wrote your book , I want you to teach it . And so I began teaching and hosting prophetic art schools . So I would have a host went up you know my home church or you know locally , and then I would you know someone else want me to come do a prophetic art school where they are . I would go and do a prophetic art school and just raise up prophetic artists , Cause it's something that's even if you don't want to be , you know someone that would paint in front of people , you still it's such a wonderful outlet and such an intimate way to hear the Holy spirit .

Speaker 2

And so I began doing that . So I did that for , like I guess , seven years , and then seven years and in 2020 , I wrote the devotional that goes with the book . The Lord gave me this download of doing an activation for the prophetic art , and so one of the things that I'm really passionate about is identity and people's callings , as you are , to Kristen , and so I made the devotional part of the book about identity in Christ , and so the first 15 days are about who is God , and then the second 15 days are about who am I , and each , each little devotion has scriptures to look up and study and questions to answer , and then activation prompt to create an art piece expressing what you just learned .

Speaker 1

So taking , like maybe a download , that he gave you a vision and then transferring that into art .

Prophetic Art and the Creative Process

Speaker 2

Yes , or paint , can you do any ? Yeah , whatever . Yeah , any medium that you choose . Yeah , so it could be an . Or just you know drawing it or you know molding it , you know create a sculpture or you know whatever . It's really fun because it's it . I just relaunched it , so it has a new cover and everything , and I kind of added a couple paragraphs in one of the chapters and so I read through it cover to cover and I was like I hadn't read it Cover to cover and I was like , wow , this is really good , you know .

Speaker 1

Thank you , holy Spirit . Like because it was , you know , are you , do you feel like ? Are you critical of your work ? Because you know , as an art I know Gals that I've talked to before that paint , you know painter , you know creatives they seem very critical of their work . Is that something ?

Speaker 2

you are challenged with . I think , yes , yes , that's something all I think all artists really are , because you see it in your mind's eye and you see what you want . You know what you want to create and that it doesn't always come out like you want it to . But also , I mean that is you know . I always say that that's kind of the difference between prophetic art and regular art . You know , all art speaks , but regular art , you , when you're taught which I didn't have any formal training , but people that have gone through art class what they do is they teach you to be critical of your art .

Speaker 2

They teach you to have an eye to make it perfect and make it just right , you know , and so it's a totally different vein with prophetic art , because you're supposed to be free and non-critical and just allow the Holy Spirit to move through you and let go , you know , and so it can be a challenge for artists , regular artists , to do prophetic art sometimes because you can't be critical . You know you have to let that performance go . You know that critical spirit go and just allow the Lord to speak , because it's not what it looks like , it's what it says and what it ?

Speaker 2

means , and but I still , you know , even myself I've not gone through training , but when I finish a painting especially if it's a live painting , because you only have so much time and you're just going for it you know there's times I'm like , oh , I don't really like that one . You know , that one didn't turn out good .

Speaker 1

I've seen some of your paintings that you put out there , like from events that you've done recently , and I'm like , oh my gosh , that is so amazing . And I know that , yeah , we can look at it from a perspective that is completely different from what other people see and I honestly like I love that you don't have any training . Yeah , it's you know from your perspective I'd be like , oh my gosh , like where did she get her training ? Well , I want this to be a key for somebody that you don't need to have formal training .

Speaker 2

Exactly , exactly it's . It was all Holy Spirit led and you know it's trial and error time , practicing , just practicing , you know , even though I was never trying to practice , but just every time you do it is practice . You know seeing what , what this does , if I do this , what does this do ? And you know I've always had a , I guess , an artistic eye , so I like perspective and lighting . It was just in there by nature , so I've never had to learn that . But other than that , I mean really it's just been . You know colors , mixing colors , and you know seeing what God does with it , and it's just , this is really beautiful , you know .

Speaker 1

Amen , so do you use ? Is it watercolor ? I use acrylics . Okay , and have you always used acrylics ?

Speaker 2

Yes , yes , acrylics are so great . I have tried watercolor color , not for prophetic art , necessarily , but just I think . I think watercolors are really hard , you know , because they're they're very free . You don't really get , you don't have a lot of control out of this does what it wants sometimes , but what I like about like oils would take a long time to dry and so it's not very practical for what I do . Because I paint , you know , a really fast painting in 45 minutes and you know you have to build a movement and transport it , and you know 45 . Yes , yeah , so this one , both of these were not done in 45 minutes these Listeners aren't seeing these pictures , but the ones I do live in front of people , so those are pretty quick .

Speaker 2

30 . I just went to a church , actually January 7th , and they gave me 20 , 15 minutes , 15 minutes to paint a painting . I was like this is going to be interesting and it turns out . It turned out really really good . But what I do ? I just painted the background first , just all one color , you know pretty much one color , or whatever colors and and then you know , just go for it . It's incredible .

Speaker 1

It's crazy . I'd be like slapping it up . I don't even know what's going to happen here .

Speaker 2

I love it . Plus , you know you're worshiping so so you're in the spirit , you're worshiping the Lord , and so it's not . You're not really thinking about what you're doing . You know your brain is engaged , obviously , and you're listening , but you're you're listening with your spirit , so you just forget about who's in the room and you just , you know , do in the Lord and and whatever comes out comes out . I usually have a direction , I usually know what direction I'm going , but when you come in .

Speaker 1

So the even coming into the building , you have an idea of what you're going to release yeah .

Speaker 2

So , just like you know , I preach as well . So just just like you would prepare a message , you you prepare spiritually , you know .

Artistic Process and Meaningful Paintings

Speaker 2

You know I have scriptures and I usually , a lot of times lately , I'll have the word already , and so I already know what the , what the word is . I just don't know what it looks like , you know , and so I don't . I always say I plan but I don't . I mean I prepare but I don't plan .

Speaker 1

Hmm .

Speaker 2

Yeah . So it's just a preparation . You know , you're , you pray , you seek the Lord , you're listening , you jot down ideas and then you know . A lot of times I don't know the colors until I walk up to the canvas . I'm like , okay , holy Spirit , what's the , what's the background ? You know what's the , what direction , and and I just kind of go for it .

Speaker 1

So so amazing . I'm just going to bring the backstory because I think a lot of even the listeners today who know of your art , like they are they're seeing the end result right and not what goes on in the back end . Can you just tell me maybe ? I know you have a lot of prints that are available on your website and we'll definitely link your website in the show notes because I want people to take a look at your stuff and buy it and support this wonderful , prophetic artist . But of all of the paintings that you've done over the years , is there one that you are just like ? This is the one that speaks most to your heart .

Speaker 2

Oh , wow , well , I have one right now that I actually have in my . I made a print of it . I don't have the original because it was a personal prophetic painting . Sometimes I'm doing personal prophetic paintings for people and I'm like , oh , that's my word . So I actually made a print of it and hung it in my bedroom , and that one is called generational sunflower and it's about raising up , you know , the next generation , which is my heart .

Speaker 2

I have another one here I have a print of , and it's called hidden in him , and it's a picture of a person on the shore with this wave coming over them and that the wave turns into feathers . And so I remember , as I was painting that the Lord , you know , I started to make a shadow because it's , like you know , hidden in his shadow , and I was kind of like in a little kind of cozy and dark in there . And the Holy Spirit said Amy , there's no darkness in me , even my , even in my shadow there's glory , and and so I had to change the shadow to be like yellow and light and , you know , warm you know , so , yeah , I love that one because it always I always reminds me of that moment with the Lord when he said that you know .

Speaker 2

So that's really meaningful to me .

Speaker 1

Amen , Do you have the ? Do you have the word for that ?

Speaker 2

painting . Yeah , it's based on Psalm 91 . Yeah , yeah , let me see if I can pull it up .

Speaker 1

I feel like somebody needs to hear it , like just from you , from your voice . I actually pulled out the word about the set the captives free and I'm going to read that at some point during our talk today .

Speaker 2

Okay , okay , I will pull this up . And I said I wish I could find everything on my website . I just go to my website .

Speaker 1

I'm like she had a word on here for for like there was a word that you had a power word at one point and I'm like , oh my gosh , that's so for me . But then , a year later , I was talking to a gal in person and immediately I just remember seeing the painting and then the word I couldn't remember . And I saw the word for her and I'm like this is exactly what you need today , but I all I could see was painting . So this is what I've experienced on my end with your work .

Speaker 2

I could share a lot of stories , but I'll let you it's called hidden in him and it says in the face of the storms , we can remain in perfect peace . Hidden in the shadow of his wing , he is our safe place and our strong tower . He is our refuge from the storm . Though the enemy can , although we can see the enemy and we see the waves , we are seated in rest and heavenly places in him . He who dwells in the shadow of the Almighty will abide in the shadow of the Almighty . Oh , he who dwells in the shelter of the most high will abide in the shadow of the Almighty . And that's it . It's a short one .

Speaker 2

I've noticed that my older paintings , the words were much shorter and they seem to be getting quite long , a lot more , a lot more scriptures , like they'll be like five scriptures with each one , you know . So it's interesting how , over the years , it's evolved . You know , because I used to not put the words at all when I first started doing it . I never would put the word . I don't know . I just felt like , whoever saw the painting , god's going to tell them what he wants to tell them , and so I wouldn't put the word . And that same spiritual father that had encouraged me to paint in front of people , he kept telling me you need to put the word in it , you need to put the word with it . I was like , okay , okay , I'll put the word .

Speaker 1

I mean , it really is a powerful . You know , just the combination of the words and the painting .

Speaker 1

I mean there's been so many times for myself that I've literally almost fallen over the one that you just put out a couple days ago with the eagle . I can't remember which one . The new one eagle ? No , there's one that you literally just put out the other day and I had a couple of people like tag me in it going Kristen , yeah , I was like two days ago and they said it's like she created it for you and I'm like I know .

Speaker 2

Oh , that's awesome .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

I actually painted that one this last year , in this last year . I can't remember what month it was , but yeah .

Speaker 1

And it's fun because you don't just post it once . I've noticed you post them again and it's like timely for you know , right at that moment , for different paintings that you put back up again . I love that . I love how you do this so different and so uniquely and that's really you know . His heart for me right now is to really come alongside the women who are doing things really different , and people might think that they're crazy and they don't have a lot of support . They're like what are you even doing Again ? Like this isn't going to make money , like this isn't making sense , like for me , like why would you leave a corporate ? You know great job with all the things and what are you doing ? So I learned how to go and he said to cut the cord to the system . So here I am and I'm going to keep following him . So have you had any ? I don't even like to say naysayers , but I like to , in quotes , say like Job's friends , come along .

Speaker 2

That's a good way to put it . Yes , yes , yes , I'm honest . I mean , there was even a time . My husband , by the way , is my biggest cheerleader and biggest fan . He's been a huge part , you know . But you know when there was the time where you know I was like I'm going to quit my job because you know , I know I need to do this .

Speaker 1

Whole time I don't have time to work . I need to do that .

Speaker 2

You know , and it's just , it doesn't make sense to people it doesn't make sense . But you know , the things in the kingdom don't ever make sense . They're not logical . I always say God is , he's not reasonable , we can't reason our way . He's beyond reason . I think he's not reasonable . He's beyond reason . It's the way we do things . I think I said that too in Isaiah 55 , his thoughts are higher than our thoughts . His ways are not our ways , his ways are higher than our ways . So you know , what looks like to most people doesn't make sense . It probably doesn't with our logical mind . But in the kingdom it's totally , because you know , we do all , we can do all things through Christ .

Speaker 2

And at that point this was years ago , and he was telling , talking to the Lord , he's like she thinks she can have her cake and eat it too . And the Lord said , yes , she can , yeah . And then we had a prophet coming to church and and he said , he like said that same phrase like you can have your cake and eat it too . So we always joke around about that because it's kind of I feel like that's the Lord . You know , he wants us . It's , it's his dreams . There are dreams , but he gave them to us . They're really his dreams and I feel like you know , our purpose should always be to make God's dreams come true .

Speaker 1

I love to say that there's a huge key right there . Can you say that again ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , we want . You know , the dreams that he's put in us are from him , and so the dreams , our dreams are really his dreams , and we want to make his dreams come true .

Speaker 1

Make his dreams come true , Amen . So what would you say to the women who I've ? You know , I've talked to a lot of women who just feel like they've had , like their dreamer has been turned off , especially these last you know , three , four years . They've been challenging for a lot of people . Like , what would you say to that woman who's listening ? I always imagine one woman listening to this podcast . That's why I do this , it's for the one , for him and for the women obviously there's more that are going to hear this , but if you can imagine her , just I can't dream . Like he doesn't have a dream for me . Like , what would you say to her ?

Speaker 2

I would say , yes , he does have a dream for you , and if you don't know what it is , then take it to him , go and sit with him , and that's what he did with me . He said just come be with me . And then he reminded me of all the things I loved when I was younger . What things make you ? What are you passionate about ? What are you excited about ? What are your gifts and talents ? What makes you excited ? What makes you angry ? What frustrates you ?

Speaker 2

I think all those things are keys and clues to what we were created for . What gets you on fire , whether good or bad ? I think both of them are part of our callings . So I think he puts those passions and desires , and even those frustrations , in us because he wants us to do something about those things when we see that there's something not right , that God doesn't like , and we are passionate to want to help fix that problem . That's part of our calling . It's part of what we were created for . So allow the Lord to dream through you as you . Just let yourself have fun , and I love that exercise that that lady taught me . If money and time and relationships were not a issue , what would you be doing ? Yeah , what would you do ?

Speaker 1

Question Is that question in your book ?

Speaker 2

Yes , I think it is in there .

Speaker 1

Yes , yeah , I mean , that's a huge question to unlock somebody . Yeah , I love unlocking people . I know you do too .

Speaker 2

I just love that your podcast is called Hope Unlocked and my name is Hope , your good name , your middle name .

Speaker 1

My maiden name oh , it's your maiden name . Is Hope it's not your maiden name .

Speaker 2

It's not my maiden name , but that's part of my calling is to hope , and that's what the prophetic is right . It's hope releasing hope , and I've always been passionate about people's identity being unlocked , so that's why my book is called Unlocked .

Speaker 1

Yeah , and when I saw your book I'm like , ok , please , we've got to get you on here , because I know you have , like the Lord's , called me to be a locksmith and at first I was like locksmith interesting , but keys are huge . I feel like he gives us keys of revelation to unlock not only ourselves but to unlock other people , right ? Yes absolutely yes , because if we keep these keys to ourselves , like what's the use ? Exactly Right .

Speaker 2

Exactly .

Speaker 1

I feel like it's the kingdom .

Speaker 2

That's like help others . I mean , we're a family , we're a family and we need each other . We need each other , and so it's beautiful to help one another , and a lot of times we can't see things in ourselves that others see , and so I think having other people in your life that can speak into you is so important . That's why I think it's so important to be a part of a body , a church body , a church family that sees you , because that helps pull the giftings out of us . See the force through the trees , exactly .

Speaker 1

Yeah , and I have a friend who's stepping into a huge vision right now and her name is also Amy . There's a lot of really wonderful Amy's that I know in my life , but one of the things that I've just been really meditating on is that , as we're stepping into maybe new territory and when I left what I quote unquote called Egypt , like there's still a process of getting Egypt out of you Exactly , and we need people around us that remind us of our . But God said not the what if .

Speaker 2

Exactly Because the thoughts and the questions they just pop in our head Sometimes it's us , but sometimes it's the enemy , sometimes it's other people , and we do need others to help keep us focused and focused on the Lord , focused on what he said . And just because God said it , it doesn't mean it's going to happen . We have to walk it out . Yes , partner with him to make those dreams come true .

Speaker 1

And the timing too Like could you speak on that a little bit ?

Speaker 2

Yes , absolutely yeah , and we're all in different journeys in our life and different points in our life . When I first got married , I knew the Lord had called us to ministry . But he said I want you to have children first and raise your children . So I went through a season , a long season . What was my focus was my children . That was my calling was to raise and part into these young people and to become men of God . But then during that process , things in me developed , the art and all those things , and so it's not always a one time thing and the same thing with the book . The Lord told me to write the book , but then he went let me release the book until I taught the book and basically refined my giftings too , in teaching . So everything is in his timing . He's got perfect timing and it's so hard sometimes when we're prophetic people . We can easily get ahead of God . Yeah , it's a little bit I'm like no , that's what he wants , this is what God wants .

Speaker 1

And .

Speaker 2

I'm going to make that happen .

Speaker 1

Yes .

Speaker 2

And we have to allow the Lord to show us the right timing in each step and walk with him through the process .

Speaker 1

Have you had any in your journey ? Did you have any times where there was a temptation to birth an Ishmael ?

Speaker 2

I'm sure there was . I can't really think of one right now . That just pops out of my head , but I think for me what's kept me ? I'm sure there's been many times , because this happens a lot , but what happens is the Lord gave me my husband , who he's the one that pulls me back , so I don't know that I've actually gotten far enough to birth an Ishmael , because he always like no , god's not saying yet , not now , or no , or you know . So I always say he's the string on my balloon because I just go off .

Speaker 1

Oh , my goodness , I'm just thinking of even . I think you're painting today like the worship horses , right , the worship .

Speaker 2

Yes , worship warriors .

Speaker 1

You're like ready to run around the track , and he's like no , we're just going to hang out in the gate here a little bit longer , exactly . I definitely the Lord does that with me quite a bit because , being very prophetic , I also see things , and it's like wait wait , not yet . We're going to just sit and we're going to rest and it's like wait , but I'm ready . Yes yes , yes .

Speaker 2

My husband always says I'm like a wild stallion at the gate , ready to get out of the gate Because the wild horses I am going to go to North .

Speaker 1

Carolina to go see those wild horses . Do you know that ? Have you ever visited the wild horses ? And I think they're in North Carolina .

Speaker 2

No , I haven't , I haven't , that would be amazing .

Speaker 1

I feel like I'm one of them . At times I'm like I'm such a wild one , I'm like I'm so excited . So I wanted to get back a little bit because , being that you and your husband are trailblazers and you're front running something- right now , and I don't know how long have you guys been leading . You just get into what you guys are currently leading right now how ?

Speaker 2

long have you been doing that .

Speaker 1

And then how did that come to be birthed ? I love the little bit of that , all right .

Speaker 2

So I always thought one day we'd plan a church and he would be a pastor and I would be the pastor's wife . That was my wine skin years ago when I first knew that one day we would start something . But over the years the art happened and I became prophetic and just really in a lot of ways just really passionate about building people . God just totally shifted my mindset and on what ministry is and what church is and what he desires . And so in our church now it's called we Are One Activation Center and we just celebrate seven years . We're seven years old .

Speaker 2

But that's really thank you . I know it's amazing . It's been a really fun journey . But in 2016 , my husband was working full time still . He was a retail manager and I was doing mostly just traveling with the art . And I just kept seeing kind of almost like a revival center but not just a revival center , like a training and equipping center where people could experiment with the Holy Spirit and pay and draw and have some intercession and all of these things . And I'm seeing this vision and one day I'm driving down the interstate and I could see this building , I could see this big center , and I was like , oh my gosh , that's incredible . And then I would tell my husband and he was like , no , I don't see that that's not abnormal , because that's kind of normal for us , because he takes a little more time , he's more analytical and I'm more creative , and so we're kind of opposite . We're great balance for each other . And anyway , we decided the Lord said to give us a name . So we got a name the Lord gave me . We Are One out of John 1722 . Lord , make us one as we Are One . And so we had a name .

Speaker 2

Didn't know if we'd ever actually have a place . It was more like , well , let's host some gatherings , let's host some meetings . And so we hosted a prophetic conference where we could teach on the prophetic , and we brought in a prophet , a friend of ours , and he was giving us these words about you guys are supposed to start something , you guys are supposed to do this . And he gave my husband a word . Quit being so slow and I don't know , there was some . We got , I think , nine words that weekend . It was incredible , but several were about this ministry and I was ready and he said my husband , don , he was just like , ok , let's do it , let's do it . So we've been meeting once a week just praying with some other people . And then about two months later , we thought , well , let's just invite other people to come join our meeting . And so we watched it in a home .

Speaker 2

And so we met in a home for about eight months and then the Lord opened the door for us to be in a coffee shop . And so we were in a coffee shop and the vision the Lord gave me was to meet on Thursdays , thursday nights , because it's a non-church night and people from other ministries could come and just taste and see more of the Lord or come and get refreshed like drinking from a well and not necessarily needed to be a part of it , but just come and receive and then also have , and they could go . Whatever they gained from the Lord , they can go back and release where they've been planted , where God's placed them , and so that's kind of been the heart of this ministry . It's just we want to be a blessing to the body of Christ , we want to connect the body of Christ , we want to encourage and help build the body of Christ . So that's really the heart of it .

Speaker 2

And now we have a building , we are running a space and it's a warehouse , which I love , because that was kind of the Lord showed me was we'd be in a warehouse . I know this isn't our final home , but it works really well for us . And we start meeting on Sunday mornings because everybody's like well , let's meet on Sunday morning too . And so I never even thought it would be a church . To be honest , I just thought , well , we're something else . But we are the churches , the people , not the building . So I was like , well , we are having church because we're together . When you gather as you gather , you're the church .

Speaker 1

So you and your husband leave the church . We're either of you trained in like .

Speaker 2

Tell me about your training because somebody my husband when he's nine years older than I am and he got saved when he was 20 . We broke 20 , but we were nine years apart and then he went to Bible school . He did go to Bible school . It was a four square Bible school . And then when I met him , you know he wasn't walking with the Lord but and then he worked full time . You know , after he we got married he was full time , you know , retail , and so there was no time for ministry . You know no time for ministry , working crazy hours and all that . And of course we were raising our children and but I've never gone to any Bible school or anything like that . Yeah , everything .

Speaker 2

Mine was all real raw . Yeah , holy spirit taught .

Speaker 1

And again , the reason I asked that is I really want to highlight that you don't have to have formal training . No , what would you say ?

Speaker 2

And that's the stuff my husband probably learned in Bible school . We don't use now anyway , because you know we have a different grid . You know different mind skin , different mindset , like I . You know we used to think that you know you get baptized in the Holy Spirit . It's a one time experience and now we know we need to be refilled every day because we make what is your prophetic journey looked like ?

Speaker 1

Because you know I'm not going to get into my story here , but I started realizing that you know I was , you know I'm even a few years ago . I realized , oh wow , I've been a feeler of my whole life .

Speaker 1

Like . I didn't realize that there was like something to that . I'm also starting to just recognize that I was prophetic and I was hungry for the prophetic starting around . It was like 2017 . And then people , would you know , kind of give me some side eye looks at the church I was going to and I'm like I just kept inside of me personally . I just kept feeling like there's more like , there is more than like , and again , I'm not going to get into where I was saved in the church that I was going into at that time , but there was , there was more , there was a stifling happening and like , what did that process look like for you ? Because at least a lot of women that I've talked to , that I'm friends with , have had a process .

Speaker 2

Absolutely .

Speaker 1

There is more . Yeah , yeah .

Speaker 2

Well , for the first five years of my marriage I would ask my husband what God was saying . I couldn't hear anything . And then we moved to New Mexico from San Diego and it was really a wilderness time for me and the Lord . I was like really hungry to hear the Lord for myself and so I began journaling and that's where I first discovered I could hear God . But then when I started painting well before the painting , I started sketching and I started bringing like a little sketch pad to church , and so this would be in 2008 , probably 2008 .

Speaker 2

You know , I would bring a little sketch pad to church and I would draw and what I was drawing would fit with what was happening . It was kind of freaking me out because we always were part of churches that were spirit filled , that believed in prophecy or believed in the prophetic . I just didn't think I was one of those . I thought that was for special people and I wasn't one of those special people . So now I know everyone can hear and recognize God's voice , that that's something God gave his children because he wants us to communicate with him and communicate with him .

Speaker 2

But the journey of realizing us prophetic really started when I would do that , those little sketches and you know , I would draw a line and then all of a sudden , someone it would get up and give a word about a lion , the line of Judas here , or something , and I was like what , that's crazy , look what I drew . Or you know , the pastor would preach what I just drew , or something like that , you know . Or the worship would fit right in there . And I was like , okay , I'm hearing . And then when I would go do , even when I was starting to do prophetic painting , I really didn't consider it as much prophet or prophetic painting , even though that's what it is . I just would , you know , paint for you know pray , ask the Lord , what do you want me to paint for this event ? And I would get the picture and then it would exactly be what the speaker was sharing . And I'm like that's crazy , that was a sad thing .

Speaker 1

Did you ever faint ? Yeah , I've had like these fainting moments quite a bit , especially over the last six years , and just those moments where you know , you know what you are hearing and you know , for me , like I've had especially the last six , seven months , eagles are huge for me .

Speaker 1

Even yesterday a friend sent a word over and I had read it and as I was driving across this bridge I look up and there was like three eagles like circling over my truck . So whenever I see your eagle paintings I'm like , ah , but they're , they are . So they've been getting closer to me , especially the last six months , or seeing like 12 at a time or just it's been wild . So for me , like that's my I don't know , and people have said that that's , you know , the Lord's just reminding you that he sees you and you are a seer , and just that eagle vision and you know , I don't know if people have ever said this to you before I would love to hear kind of your like what you ? Because you do have a lot of eagle . What is the significance for you with the eagles ?

Speaker 2

I really . I did a painting years ago called the five fold , and I was like Lord , show me , show me what those the five fold offices look like . And he showed me the lion , the apostolic , like a lion . And then he showed me the eagle for the prophet . And it's just , it's really .

Speaker 2

I see the eagle as as a prophetic , anointing being able to see , be able to discern , seeing in the dark , seeing in in far distances , seeing ahead , but also I mean being able to fly over the storms . You know just being , you know , a person in the Lord . We're all to be eagles , really , because he wants us to rest in him , like Isaiah 43 says , verse 30 , you know , when we rest in him , we can soar above the storms . He , you know , I love that about eagles they don't , they don't shy away from storms , they don't run and hide like most birds , they go towards it and they go towards the strong , they go above it . And you know that's what he wants are all his people . He wants us to rest in him and be able to circumvent all situations and see from his perspective , not what we see as people , as humans . You know what we see . You know the trial or the situation , because he sees the end from the beginning , and so we need to be able to see past it and see the hope that's ahead . So I think of eagles too , as you know , resting in him , soaring in the spirit , soaring with him , and just .

Speaker 2

I also see it , as you know , for our nation . You know that's our nation's bird right , and so the bald eagle , and so I always think about America . Can you know ? The eagle can represent America and what God wants to do here in our nation and his heart for this nation . So a lot . I have paintings about that too , where the eagle represents the US , and there's so many things about the eagle . It's , it's a , it's a beautiful bird . You know it's a beautiful bird . So you're blessed that you have them where you live , because we do hear about it , but they're very , very rare , very rare .

Speaker 1

And it's interesting because a lot of times people are like I don't understand why you're seeing them so much there , because I live near the Minneapolis airport . Oh , amazing , the other day I have a client that I was working with and my my business is called New Wings Coaching , and I was sitting where I'm sitting here , interviewing you , looking out in my backyard , and she mentioned something about double portion . And I look out my window and there was two eagles soaring in my backyard and I'm like girl , I gotta , I gotta , I gotta call you right back because I need to take a video of this for you . And they were . It wasn't like they were way up in the sky , I mean , they were probably 30 feet , like at the top of my trees . You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 2

And .

Speaker 1

I went over , so this is the kind of thing that you know and people have said like , like , how do you see them so much ? And I said , well , you got to look up .

Speaker 2

So true , you can't be navel gazing .

Speaker 1

We got to keep looking up right and it is , it's . It's a wonder to me , you know , and we have to get that wonder back , like childlike faith and having you know just fun . God is fun .

Speaker 2

Amen , yes , yes , yes , I was thinking you were telling me about the eagles . It's , you know , it's like a kiss from the Lord for you every time you see an eagle . It really is . It's so beautiful . Yeah , I love that .

Speaker 1

I'm like yes , thank you , Lord . Well , this has been so much fun . I do want to read this at the captive's free word that you did for the bird cage , because I feel like this is also for somebody today as well . I really felt such a burden for some people yesterday , just a stirring to call people up , Like there was a lot of .

Speaker 1

I could just feel like hopelessness in the atmosphere and just reminding women to keep going . So this one is called set the captives free , and you can go to her website if you want to check out the painting that goes with it . It's my favorite . Like I said , some people are imprisoned by strongholds in their minds . Others are captive in their bodies and are in need of physical healing , but others are in bondage to addictions and are captive to demonic oppression . So many people are in cages and chains , but Jesus , he took the keys of the kingdom and has defeated the enemy .

Speaker 1

I want to just stop right there . He broke every stronghold in every chain . He opens prison doors and sets the captives free . The Holy Spirit has given you the keys of authority to help others find freedom from darkness . That's another one for somebody . He has set you on fire for him , to passionately pursue him and fight for others .

Speaker 1

Freedom and I'm just going to interject . What is that ? What is that for you ? Whom the sun sets free is free . Indeed , the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted . He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted , to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners . Isaiah 61-1 . If you continue in my word , then you are truly disciples of mine and you will know the truth , and the truth will make you free . Jesus answered them Truly . Truly , I say to you everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin . The slave does not remain in the house forever . The sun does remain forever . So if the sun makes you free , you will be free indeed . John 8.31-32 . And then 34-36 .

Speaker 2

Ah , how does it feel to hear that even you know it's wild because I don't know that I've ever heard somebody read me . Well , now is a never . Yeah , I have one of my intercessors . She does do that in intercession . Sometimes she'll like that reminds me of a painting , and then she'll read it . It's really cool . I mean I love that because , like , if you ask me what is the word that goes with that pain , I wouldn't have been able to tell you .

Speaker 1

It's probably like when I'm doing coaching sessions . People are like you said this . I'm like I don't know . I just released it . I don't know it is for you .

Speaker 2

I love it .

Speaker 1

It just goes .

Speaker 2

It's the Lord , it's him . He did it , he said it . I just was described at the moment and released it .

Speaker 1

Amen , well anything else that you would love to just impart to that one Again , I like to say the one woman who you see listening today , and then would you just be open to praying over the broadcast today ?

Speaker 2

Absolutely Well . I just want to say that I just want to encourage you to spend some time with the Lord . You know , I heard the Lord say earlier this year his best is in the rest , and he's really wanting us to sit with him , spend time with him , be like Mary , who sat at Jesus' feet , and in that place he's going to really show you who you are , why he created you , what your purpose is , what he wants to do through you , what his heart is , what his heart is , and so just remember that our purpose is just to make God's dreams come true . So , Lord , I thank you for this broadcast today . Lord , and for all those that are listening right now and in the future , Lord , that you would just move on their hearts , Lord , that you would . I just impart to them , Lord , that intimacy with you . Lord , I impart to them that creative gift to see and hear you and even create for you .

Speaker 2

Lord , I thank you , Father , for what you're wanting to do . I thank you for all of those that are learning to hear your voice , Lord . I pray that your voice just becomes so , so clear . We thank you , Father , for eyes being opened , spiritual eyes being opened , spiritual ears being open , Lord , discerning of spirits . Lord , I thank you for the gifts being unlocked in each one of your daughters and your sons that hear this broadcast . Lord , and I just give you glory . Lord , Thank you for this opportunity today and we give you praise in Jesus' name Amen .

Speaker 1

Well , thank you again , amy . Do you have any events ? I think you mentioned you have an event coming up soon . When is your next event ? Okay , yes , yeah .

Speaker 2

I have a Deborah's Arising conference . It's a women's conference I host every year since 2018 . And usually our focus has been Deborah , and this year I really heard the Lord say that we're focusing on Esther , and so it's going to be a powerful time . So you can register at amyrilandercom and there's a link there that will take you to the tickets . It's here in the Jackson Mississippi area , so that's February 22nd to the 24th , and we have plenty of seats left .

Speaker 2

We are we're using a bigger space instead of our building , so that will have lots of room for all the ladies to come from all over the place , and there's some hotel information on the website as well . And then I also have a prophetic art school that I'm going to be hosting here at my home church in Brandon Mississippi , and that's March 16th and it's an all day prophetic art school , so it'll be really fun . We have , we'll feed you lunch and I will provide all the supplies , so you just come and receive and you'll get to learn and get impartation . I pray over everyone and then everybody gets to paint . So it's a really , really good time . It's 10 to four on March 16th and you can also register on amyrilandercom Incredible .

Speaker 1

I'm so excited for you . And I can't go this year , but maybe next year .

Speaker 2

Absolutely , and if anyone is interested in having me come do a prophetic art school in your area , you know , just contact me through the website , and I do travel and do this other places too .

Speaker 1

So you're still traveling quite a bit .

Speaker 2

Yes , yes , I do travel quite a bit .

Speaker 1

Love it . Well , you are amazing . I am so thankful that we had a chance to do this today . I'm going to close with our anchoring verse for the podcast . It's made the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace and believing so that , by the power of the Holy Spirit , you may abound in hope . That's Romans 1513 . So thank you for being a brave voice who's setting others free , and only through your voice , your words , but through your art . So thank you so much . I will be back with another episode next week . Thank you , listeners .
