We're we're connected on social media, which is beautiful, and just had a chance to get to know her a little bit better. But I know that there's still some surprises, which I'm excited about. So, Connie, would you be open to just sharing a little bit about yourself before we get into your story?
SPEAKER_01Sure. Well, thank you very much for having me. Uh, I'm excited for today. And about myself, I was a college educator for just over 20 years when God called me out of that and into ministry. But the way he did it was was interesting. Not my idea at all, but he told me I would have my own business. I was going to be a coach and a speaker and a trainer. And he didn't tell me I was going to be an author because that would have probably really just the last part. Yes, yes. I've written, I've written a couple of books now. But uh, but when he did it, because everything that had led up to it, Holy Spirit, you know, let me know something was coming, something was coming. So by the time I felt like the Lord downloaded this to me, I was like, Yes, I am, yes, I am, I am gonna start my own business, even though I knew nothing about that. And it was also interesting that he told me that I should set it up as an LLC, which I would have, I'm sure, did it as a nonprofit. Now, fast forward over eight years, uh now he's having me switch over to a ministry. And I know he's just done amazing things through this. Yeah, I get to be the facilitator, I get to be the minister, I get to be the coach
at times or the teacher. Uh, I get to speak into people's lives, but it's all him. It's it's all him. And so it is as much as I love, love, loved being a college educator, this is the most fulfilling work I've ever done. So a lot of it is inner healing. I help people rewire their brains, which which just means, you know, with God's word and the Holy Spirit, we we strengthen new neural pathways because people don't know that literally the things that have happened to them have caused them to think certain ways, which of course affects their emotions and then affects their decisions and their choices, and then that affects the outcomes they have in life. So it's been yeah, it's been so fun. I'm also a uh wife and a mom and a grandma. So I I have a full um life and I'm I just I'm I'm thrilled because I really am in the smack dab middle of my purpose, and I get to help others um get there too.
SPEAKER_03Isn't that beautiful? I I just if you guys can see, could see Connie right now, like I just keep hearing like the joy of the Lord is is her strength. Like she's just beaming. So um I want to back it up a little bit. So you're in education, and I would love to hear kind of what led you down that path to start. Um, you know, a lot of us, you know, as we're growing up, we just kind of get led into something. Maybe it wasn't, you know, the right path, or you know, because you're now in the smack dab in the middle of your calling, um, you probably at that point didn't feel like you were in the middle of that calling, but yet it was the pathway to where you're at now. What was that like when you were you know growing up? Um did you have, you know.
SPEAKER_01Interesting. Well, site set on education. No, absolutely not. And I was a college educator, so it's you know, I it's not like I went to school uh to become a teacher.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and and but I but I taught, I had expertise and education in a certain area. And so I it wasn't until I had um stopped one career and I was being a stay-at-home mom. And then I found that oh, that was hard. It was hard for me. I loved it, I loved it. I would definitely do it again, but I needed a little, a little something. And we my husband saw just this uh our local college needed someone to teach wellness. Well, that's what I had been involved in, and so I went for the interview and I actually had uh with my when I was working on my master's degree, I got to teach college classes as part of of that. And I had, I mean, I had up to five courses that I taught solo. Um, I was a teaching assistant, but but they were there wasn't anyone above me teaching. So anyway, so I had experience and it just opened the door and it was it was just perfect. And really, I have to tell you, I was I was smacked up in the middle of my purpose then as well. But it but exactly like you said, Kristen, it was leading me somewhere else. But I I've always liked teaching, whether I thought of myself as a teacher or not, I like to teach people things, especially I
like to encourage. And so this this job at our local college, it was just 100% God because all the classes that I got to teach were just so wonderful. I taught stress management, I taught wellness, I taught success strategies, which that is basically coaching students to believe in themselves. And it was just so fun. And I could bring in, even though it was a public college, I could bring in godly principles because who is the stress manager? Who I mean, it's God has all of this wisdom. So I might not say this is right out of the Bible, but it was right out of the Bible, and it was so interesting because so much of what I taught in those classes have followed me into my ministry. Only now I can I can bring the Holy Spirit into it. I can bring all the Bible verses that back up everything that I taught. I would teach, I would teach kids, you know, in stress management, you know, how to manage your stress. You've got to manage your thoughts because stress is all your perception of it. And so why somebody can have the exact same thing happening in their life, two different people can have the exact same stressors, but yet one is just getting through it and they're they're doing okay, and the other one is under it. And it's because of their perception, and so and we we can we can control that more than we think. So anyway, but now doing it with God, oh, it's just it's so much better.
SPEAKER_03So but I need to feel like yeah, I needed to say I guess I feel like somebody might even be wanting to hear a little bit more about this perspective that you're talking about and how to really um, you know, especially in in the world that we're living in. Um, we were talking a little bit before we got started here. Um, and even though that was something that you taught on back then, what would you say about that now in the times that we are living in? Sure.
SPEAKER_01Uh well, we have to realize that our perspective and the lens with which we see things through has a lot to do with the experiences we've had in life. And so if someone has been abused or bullied, uh and they see something, literally, something that's going on, even though it's not happening to them or is even close to them, it it can trigger them, right? And and how the way the way I use that word is basically your brain is taking some taking you somewhere without your permission. That's being triggered, and it can happen in your everyday life as well. Someone can say something, and you you literally feel it in your body like oh, like like a gut punch or something, but it but that person might not have even said anything that bad. But the thing is, our brains do not know the difference between something happening and being reminded of something that happens, and so some we need the um Holy Spirit's perspective on what we've been through and what maybe still might need some more healing. When we get healing, then we can rewire that that part of our you know thinking and we can literally choose different thoughts, we can choose the way we perceive something.
SPEAKER_03Yes, that's so good.
SPEAKER_01And and it and it totally it you're talking about the joy of the Lord. I can I can choose joy, I don't have to feel happy, happy, happy to choose joy, and I can do that as an act of my will, and and it changes everything, it changes how I'm gonna experience it's gonna change how other people are going to react with with me throughout the day, you know, but but there has to be some healing sometimes.
SPEAKER_03Yes. So, like, I mean, just kind of I think back to you know, some people that I know in my life, and you you did mention something, you know, to a point of you know, basically I look at this particular person, right? And they only know what they knew, but they didn't like they didn't have an example,
maybe growing up, and maybe they weren't in church growing up, and they don't have the Bible. So let's just say we have these people in our life that really need the brain rewiring. Um, how would you approach somebody like that? Maybe it's a family member, maybe it's a close friend who um you just recognize that wow, I would love to help them get a new perspective. What would that look like?
SPEAKER_01And so start with prayer. Start with prayer. And you know how people say, Well, all I can do is pray. Um, well, the only thing I can do, you know, no, all you can do, prayer is the most powerful thing, best gift you can give someone if you understand how powerful our prayers are, if you understand that you have authority as a Christ follower, you know, he he tells us in Luke, you are given authority over the enemy in all his works. How many? Oh, that's a lot, you know. And so a lot of times what happens is we've had these experiences, right? And our our brains believe things because of the experience. And then people live their life following these lies, which which could be maybe you can't really trust people. You you you you really you got to be careful, you gotta be careful who you tell what to. Right. And those are things we've probably maybe we've even said, or you've heard people say that because of your experiences, but you can see then the enemy will come in and he will try to exasperate that. And and really what he's trying to do is he's trying to diminish the person's call on their life, the purpose we've been talking about being smack dab in the middle of our purpose, trying to really thwart that person's purpose, why they're really here on the earth, the impact they're really supposed to have. And so there's a lot of people that don't ever get there. But first of all, I would let God show you if there's something that you can take authority over, you know, if it's a family member for sure. Uh, you know, we have the keys to the kingdom, it says in Matthew, and we can bind whatever we bind on earth is bound in in heaven. And so if we knew that someone had just this spirit of unworthiness, right? Where they just they they just feel like they're never going to be good enough, they're never going to be able to measure up. And that's it's it's it's such a lie. You can see it clearly that it's such a lie. But I would find that spirit of unworthiness and I would just just be able to just plant seeds here and there. This happened with my own daughter, Kristen.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_01Um, when she was probably about a freshman, uh, I think when she was about a freshman in high school, now I realized I don't think she was really saved. Like, oops, you know, because she said the prayer, you know, when she was when she was younger, she grew up in this family. She had two older siblings who were were really good to her. Um, a mom and dad that had been married, you know, your your normal Christian home, and yet the enemy was after her. And I just started learning about more of these things at that time. And God was so gracious, He would, he would teach me something, and I would learn, and then I would be like, Oh my gosh, I can put this into practice with my daughter. But just learning uh that she was really attacked by rejection, and it didn't make logical sense because we just we just loved her so much. We we were excited to have a third baby, like I said, her brother and sister. There's there's not rejection that I could see, but she did go through some, I think, at school. And the enemy doesn't play fair. So when I when I knew that it was rejection, then I learned that with rejection comes rebellion sometimes. With rejection comes unloving spirits. And I had an experience one time I would go, I would go up in the morning, she's getting ready, and she was looking at herself in the mirror, and she's like, You are disgusting. Ugh, you're disgusting. And she's looking at herself, saying this. And Kristen, I just have to tell you, I'm not being biased. She is a beautiful, beautiful girl. And and people very much, you know, she got the attention because of her look. She everyone thought she was very, very pretty, very beautiful. And and then I I I learned it and I could start to teach her and say, Stop. You don't realize those aren't even your thoughts. Do you realize those are unloving spirits? They're sitting right here on your shoulder and they're saying things in your ear. You think they're your thoughts, but they're not even your own thoughts. And and you have to tell them, shut up in the name of Jesus, get away from me in the name of Jesus. And I could just start to plant seeds that that all of your thoughts are not even your own thoughts, and you don't have to agree with them.
Yes.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm so thankful that you, you know, I'm sure as a mama hearing that and seeing it like was heartbreaking. But for you to be able to come in and like literally intercede and be that go-between to help her truly, you know, help re rewire her brain. Um, I'd be curious. How long how many years ago was that?
SPEAKER_01That was maybe 13 years ago or so.
SPEAKER_03Okay. And now, like on the flip side, literally, like, how's she doing? She's doing great.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01She's doing great. She is, you know, her and her husband are in ministry. She's had, I mean, she's had some battles, right? She's had to do some spiritual warfare. And and I've always felt like it's because of the call of God on her life. Now, I don't want your listeners to be like, oh, well, then I don't want, I don't want a big call. I don't, I don't want to do anything significant. No, no, because this doesn't happen all the time. And you can you can learn the tools. And I'm telling you, um, the enemy's already defeated. He's already defeated Jesus, already defeated him. We just have to learn how to use the weapons that that are given to us. And so it's it's beautiful. And even that time, because I could sew into her, you know, we became so close. She understood that that she could really trust me. And so that rebellion that was trying to get her really got squashed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And and I could, you know, I could just show her things in the big picture, right? This isn't just about that strong emotion that you're feeling right now. You know, the enemy may be sending the spirit of anger literally right now to try to make it worse, or the spirit of offense so that you will be offended at someone. And I'm not saying that you can't feel your feelings, right? But there's a thin line between, you know, especially those negative, strong emotions, feeling those feelings, and then the enemy sending in um an attack to try to exasperate it and and use it to to take you down in some way.
SPEAKER_03Yes. What I love, you know, I love to just we we have, I can tell we just have similar hearts to really want to see um, you know, I work with women and I don't know if you work with men and women. Do you work with men and women? Yes. Okay. So you came into the the coaching space, and um, like how did you come into the coaching space? I would love to hear. And then if you could just remind people, I, you know, as a coach myself, like sometimes I I don't know if people actually know what coaching is.
SPEAKER_01Sure. Well, and I and I never was your traditional coach. Like I I realized like even back now that I when I started learning what coaching was and that there even was such a thing, right? 10 years ago, uh I was like, oh my gosh, I've been coaching for so many years of my life. I just never called it coaching.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So I very official.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes. And and and got certified and whatnot. But but the kind of coaching that God called me into was really more of the inner healing brain rewiring. I speak life into people, um, certainly like uh almost like a prophetic mentor, if you will. That's where he had me uh start. And and it made sense because I was, you know, I was teaching a youth group for high school and college age, and I just I I just spoke life into them. And I, you know, those classes I was teaching was very much about helping people find their purpose. And I was so I was just so sincerely, so sincerely wanting and excited about everyone's purpose and just just like just don't think don't think small. Like you've got a big God, you know, think big, dream big. I was so excited for other people's dreams when God literally whispered, God, I want you to dream too. And and seriously, Kristen, I was like, I'm good, no, I'm good. Yeah, yeah, because I was teaching at the college level, I absolutely loved it, but I kept getting that thought and not and I knew about thoughts. So that thought, if if it was my own thought, I wouldn't be trying to talk myself off my own thought, saying, No, no, I'm good. If it was the enemy, the enemy wouldn't be encouraging me to dream, right? So I knew it was I knew it was God's thought, and so then just a series of things, I first had to open myself up to dream beyond what I was doing because like I said, I I really did at that time, I absolutely loved it. And uh, and then he, you know, I went to different uh just heard different people speak, and it was that one conference I was at, it wasn't a Christian conference, it was for work, it was for higher education, but but it was a conference about purpose. And I was taking many of the things I learned, taking it back and changing the curriculum for one of the classes, but it was it was just so lovely because as we were going through this workshop type deal, we got to do it all ourselves. We got to the things that we would pose and the and the reflection time that we would take our students through, we got to do it. And who has the time to really reflect? You know what I mean? You're just busy doing, doing, doing, and it was it was so wonderful. I knew before I went that this was that God was gonna do something significant through this. I was doing all of that reflecting with God, with the Holy Spirit. So it was after this that I came back and I felt like it was downloaded. You know, you're gonna start your own business, you're going to be a coach, you're
going to be a speaker, you're going to be, you know, mentor, you're going to be a trainer. Otherwise, like I would I can train groups and and organizations. Um, so that's how that came to be.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_01And it was just so In God's timing, and He just had helpers for me. And every step he's had helpers. And now, you know, he's had me ministering, and my ministry has put on conferences. And we've seen, we've seen God do miracles. We we, you know, physical healings, we've seen inner healings, we've seen, I've seen inner healings where then their physical healing comes after the inner healing. It's so beautiful what the Lord has done. So it's just really following him one step at a time. And he keeps opening the doors and keeps bringing me further and further. And it's just so fun. I mean, it I'm having a time in my life, and uh I'm just so thankful and grateful that I get to do this with the Lord. Just like you, Kristen. I know, I know you feel the same way.
SPEAKER_03Well, I want to I just want to highlight a couple things. Um, first of all, we'll kind of back back it up. One of the things you just said was one step at a time.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03I think a lot of times, um, you know, I'll get a big vision. I'm a I get visions all the time. I get ideas, I get downloads, I get blueprints, and I'm like, Yeah. Me, me? And I know like, you know, I'm sure you're around other men and women who get these, you know, downloads as well. Um it it is true. It's literally one step at a time. What would you say to somebody today who, you know, let's just say last night they had a dream, they had a big dream come in their dreams, and they're like, I can't do this. That's their you know, rewiring, needing, needing a little rewiring, right? That's their initial like automatic response is I can't do this. What would you say to that person who's even saying that to themselves right now? I couldn't do what she did. I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't do any of those things.
SPEAKER_01Well, the good news is you shouldn't be able to do it. If it really is God calling you, it's going to be beyond what you can do. And then you'll say that again.
SPEAKER_03Say that again. Put the people in the back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yep. Um, and you've and and you, your listeners have heard this before. But when when you think, oh, I can't do it. And usually when we say that, fear is behind it. Yeah. And a lot of time it's fear of man. But really, it's a good thing if if you think, I can't do that. I how can I do that? I can't do that. How am I gonna do that? Because then God has to come in. He's he's the one that is going to do it through you. He then is also the one that will get the glory, and you won't be tempted to take credit for something that God is doing. You'll stay in alignment with the Lord, right? But but just to just to um reiterate, a lot of times I can't do that. It's fear of man that rises up. You you you're not gonna think of that consciously, but the really I can't do that. You think, well, first of all, I'm not gonna want to admit to anybody that I don't even know how to do that, and I think maybe everyone else knows how to, but I don't really even know how to use that technology and I or or whatever it could be, and um you know, fear of man, or I don't want to. I was telling you, Kristen, before, like I did not ever want to be on video, I didn't even want to put my picture out there. And and I was so self-conscious, and I didn't even have Facebook before the Lord had me um do this. I had no desire to be on Facebook. Okay, and then I'm doing this, and it's like, oh, lo and behold, he's going to want me to use Facebook to to tell people what I'm doing and to try to help people through it. And I've I've come so far, you know, like the Lord is just so good. I've had to employ everything that I teach others, he's taken me through first. So now I, you know, there I'm not saying that I don't still have some insecurities, but they don't stop me. I know better than to even think of having them stop me. It's like, and when I and and I know because I've rewired my brain, I recognize it, and I'll just say, Oh, really? Yeah, it's go time. Let's go, Jesus. I love that.
SPEAKER_03It's go time. It's not slowdown time. No, nope.
SPEAKER_02Wow, that's so good.
SPEAKER_03Oh, the other part you mentioned was you had helpers along the way. So he gave you a vision and a dream and this mandate/slash mission. Um, what did it look like for you to bring help along?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, so when I realized when he first told me, you know, that I was gonna start this business, you know, I had someone that I was mentoring. She was actually um studying graphic art. So she helped me with my logo. It was she just loved doing that. And uh, and something I developed when I wrote my my first book. Uh, my he wasn't yet, but he's now my son-in-law. He um came up with the idea for how to explain this idea of, you know, we have experiences and then we believe something, and it
turned into this whole life impact ladder. And then this this same um girl that I mentored was a friend of my daughter's, she made a graphic for it. And um that's copyrighted in my book, in my first book. But anyway, um my my daughter-in-law helped me with my first website. It's totally different now, but they're just they're just were helpers, right? And then, and then I I got a coach. Like it, and again, that was that was a huge leap of faith, but I knew I needed to do it, and my whole life changed when when I did that. And and so there's just been uh, you know, doing ministry now and these conferences, it was just so supernatural. God connected me to ministries much bigger than mine, and and just supernaturally, like I wasn't knocking on their door, I wasn't trying to do that at all. He supernaturally connected us. And and then the the conference was was something that my ministry put on. Even though their ministries are bigger than mine, because of the way that he had me set it up originally, I then had everything in place. I could do the website, I could take money online, I could, I could send out all the automatic emails. I had everything in place because I had been obedient from the beginning, even though it didn't make sense to me. So uh, and and you know, I have a friend, dear, dear, dear friend, who is very much my she she assists me in ministry, she is an interceder, uh a prophetic voice in my ministry, and we do ministry together. But that was God just provided this seven years ago, six years ago, maybe even six years ago, we didn't even know each other existed on the planet, but God had planned all along. So did they connect then?
SPEAKER_03I'm just kind of curious, how did you two connect?
SPEAKER_01Well, she was actually in a in a coaching group. I was actually coaching her through another organization, and God just spoke to her. You're gonna you're gonna work with her. And she thought, what? Really? I am and and that's how it began. Uh yeah. So so just all these different connections, fine connections, I would say.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and Laura so good at that. I mean, it and I I've been I was having a conversation with somebody yesterday. Um, you know, I I do believe, and and I don't know if you've done more of this since you got started, but just just the bartering um method. Have you done a lot of that too?
SPEAKER_01Not not a lot, but definitely some. Yeah. And and even the person that that helped me with my um latest book uh was just someone, you know, he is a book coach, and but he's been in my ministry, has gone through um some of my programs. God just changed his life through this. It's just it's such a beautiful story. And so he is well now. You're gonna tell us the story. Well, he just believed he just believes in my ministry so much. So, so this man, like, and again, the Lord directed him to me. We had a conversation, and I I coached mainly women, but um, the Lord had had told me prior to that that I was supposed to open myself up and I had coached men here and there. And and uh so certainly in a group coaching program, as long as they they know there's gonna be a lot more women than men, right? Um, but yeah, he he just didn't know about the prophetic. He didn't know um that he could access and he could really hear the voice of God as easily as he can. He didn't know that he needed um healing for past experiences, that they those experiences, the way he was thinking and the way he was reacting and the choices he was making was really because of something that had happened maybe even a decade or more ago. And and like I said, you know, his
brain's totally rewired, um, so healed. He does this now uh for other people. And uh so anyway, he is someone that it's it's so fun.
SPEAKER_03I mean, that's it's like tag team, right? It's literally like Kingdom Tag Team. Amen. And and I had this visual as you're saying that I've never thought of this before, but it's almost like a prison sentence. Like if you allow like something that happened to you, like I I know somebody who literally has been imprisoned for 70 years.
SPEAKER_01It's so sad, it's so sad. And here's here's the funny thing the Lord is using me to bring freedom to people. So when you say a prison sentence, yes, I was just like, oh my gosh, that because freedom, freedom, freedom is is is one of the things that that God does through me. Yeah, and but it's also people that they don't realize, Christian. I help a lot of leaders who they're they're helping other people, they've been through healing, they have rewired their brain to some extent, but for the next level that God is bringing them to, for their next assignments, they literally need another level of freedom that they don't even know exists because they're they're doing, they're they're helping other people. And I find it over and over and over and over and over and over and over again that he'll bring people to me that it's before the Lord is getting ready to expand them or or promote them in a way or have them go do something new or just enlarge their territory, if you will. And he's also done it with me. Every time he because he's expanded my ministry a few times, but every time I I don't realize I need any more healing, people around me don't think I do. But when you really lean in and you allow yourself, it's like, wow, yeah, thank you, Lord. You know, you we just don't want any little tiny little thread of something that's junk that will hold us back. Uh, we want we want that freedom that He wants for us. So yeah, you're right, you're right on, and it is it's it's so devastatingly sad when someone has been stuck for so long. But I'm telling you, with God, all things are possible. They can get free after 70 years.
SPEAKER_03Truly. And the the beauty is we can come alongside these people, we can't force freedom on people. Um, like you, I've like he's given me keys to help unlock people. And like you can have the key right there and turn it. And they could, you know, have you heard like you know, that story about the elephant that's chained up the whole their whole life, and then because they're used to being chained up their whole life, they don't even know what to do when they get free.
SPEAKER_01They don't they don't wander away, they they still only take the few steps that they had, the privilege of taking when they're perimeter.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Right. So what you're talking about with these, you know, new levels, new expansion. You know, I've found myself in these times too. It's like there's always greater levels of healing, especially, you know, for those of us, I don't know if you walked through a lot of trauma growing up, but you know, myself, a lot of people I know have walked through a lot. And there's things will come up and be like, where did that come from?
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And the thing I really believe now that every single person has been through trauma. It might not be these big things that we think of when we hear the word trauma, but uh, you know, if someone, if someone was betrayed, if someone lost their best friend, if someone was lied about, if someone when they were in fourth grade had to do a math problem at the front of the room, and then the teacher might not have even been a terrible teacher, but they they use their example to teach the others, like, oh, do you see Sally's mistake? But but to that little fourth grade brain being embarrassed and like like it was that was trauma to that fourth grade brain. Do you see what I'm saying? So I I I'm convinced just with you know, all the many, many, many, many people that I've worked with and ministered to through the years, I think everyone has been through some form of trauma.
SPEAKER_03Yes, absolutely. And I would say even too, just like we were kind of touching on a little bit earlier, just things that we've walked through, you know, since the beginning of this decade, um, it's there's been
a lot, like a lot of loss, a lot of, you know, a lot. There's been a lot. And a lot going on. Especially when we're faced, I think there I can't remember exactly. Um I hope I don't butcher this too much, but a hundred years ago, you know, the newspaper, one, you know, newspaper would have given you like um maybe you'd see like I don't even know what the the number was, but like our our news and the amount of information that we see would be like a newspaper for a year. Am I getting that right? Do you know what I'm talking about? Like I know, I know what you're saying. The information is our brain can't our brain can't even compute what's coming in, and especially with how much bad news we're seeing. Yes. Well, would you would you speak to that a little bit and like how the brain, like how can we um just navigate? How can we navigate through and especially for those who've maybe been through quite a bit of trauma these last few years?
SPEAKER_01You have to really have discernment and you can ask for discernment. You can ask the Lord for discernment. And and there's times there's different, you know, depending on your where you are in your journey of of healing and rewiring your brain and um and and drawing in closer with you know with with the Lord, depending on where you are, you there may be times where you have to just be disciplined and say, I will, I'm not watching the news. I had a friend who told me this uh you know decades ago. Fear came on her so terribly, and she she just had to stop, she she stopped the paper, they stopped watching the news on on television. So, you know, 20 years ago, there wasn't the the all the social media, but you know, and and you hear you'll hear people say, I'm getting off Instagram, I'm I'm I'm getting I'm not doing TikTok, I'm not uh, you know, because for people's mental health, yeah, it because the enemy comes in, and so you have to be very discerning. You can't you can't give in to the fear of missing out, okay? And um and and yeah, there's just there's only so much you can take. And so you really uh you you want to spend that time with the Lord, and and even when you when you do hear this and this and this, you you can go to the Lord and process it with Him. And you can say, you know, um, Lord, what what do you say about this? Lord, what is what's the spiritual implication? How can I pray? Because we we shouldn't be as Christians sitting back wringing our hands by all the bad news. We should not be letting ourselves get in fear. And I really think um after 2020, the the church, and I mean I just mean the body of Christ when I say that, we really unknowingly let fear in. And and then just when we saw just the craziness of the culture in the last, you know, six years or so. I mean, we let fear get in, and and we might not have been aware of it. And so the first thing is we've got to we've got to deal with fear, we've we've got to root it out and let the Lord really show us um that we we cannot give in to fear. I think fear is probably the one of the biggest blocks people have in their lives.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I I so agree. And he has not given us a spirit of fear.
SPEAKER_00You got that he's given us, you know, the other part. I know you know this, love, and a sound mind.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I love, I love that's the King James version, I think. And I like that version the best because um, you know, you've not been given the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Yeah, it's so true. And that's you know, that's that's what people need to um claim. They need to seek the Lord about. Maybe they need um to to be coached, maybe they need to go through a program or a class or read a book. You know, they they might need to be ministered to to really root out that fear, chances are, yeah, but it's possible. And it is, I mean, talk about freedom, talk about getting out of the prison because fear and and that's just increased, don't you think, Kristen? So much with anxiety is you know, every everyone's anxious, everyone's on anxiety medicine, it seems. And no, that is from the enemy, it's from the pit of hell. We're not supposed to have to deal with that, it's under the curse, is what it is. But it's there, and we have to be honest about it.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely. Well, I love like let's let's kind of go over the bridge. I would love for you to share a little bit about um, you said you have two books, um, right? Two books to tell us a little bit about your books.
SPEAKER_01Sure. Um, the first one is unlock your purpose, become the difference maker you were created to be. And that talks a little bit more about those thoughts. It's a very short, both of them are easy reads. Yeah, uh, I don't write, you know, academically. They're they're very easy reads, but they're impactful. But the the latest book is is something I think every single person should read. It's freedom to say yes. Uh, how to finally step into the more God has for you. And so it is just reminding people that yes, you do have a purpose, and yes, you do have a call of God on your life. And maybe some people have been waiting so long and it hasn't come to pass. Or there's other people that have they there, they might be walking in their purpose, but they know there's more. And so it really speaks into that. Um, and it's there's three sections. It's you know, just talking about your purpose, just reigniting that faith where your purpose and your calling is. But then the whole middle section are common blocks
like fear, like um, you know, we have to be able to trust. There's just there's so many common blocks that you might have gotten some freedom from, but now for this next, the new assignment, the new era, the new wineskin, if you will, that is going to be used in this next season, he needs you to have even more freedom from those areas. And then the the third section of the book is just really equipping people for more intimacy with the Lord, because ultimately when you follow these steps to intimacy, you're going to just continue to grow and grow and grow and grow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So good. And I love that you said they're not like super long, hard books to read. I think some of the most, some of the most, even the shortest books I've read have been like the most impactful. Yeah. Like it's it doesn't have to be long and lengthy, right?
SPEAKER_01No, they they don't. The first one is very, is very, it's it's it's very short. The second one is, you know, normal size, I suppose, um about twice as long as the first one. Okay. But but yeah, just they're like I said, they're easy reads, but so impactful. And this this new book that just came out in November.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Is there's so much ministry in it, Kristen. So it it really is, you know, there's there's chances for you to pray. There's all these free resources with it, and yeah, it's Just basically what I get to do and how I minister, that's how God had me write the book. And it's just beautiful because He He's He's the one that's taking people through this. It's it's it was so fun.
SPEAKER_03So amazing. Well, and I'll be sure to you know add the links to the books in the show notes too. And do you have any events coming up soon? I know we talked about it a little bit. It may be a little bit off from the timing of this launch of the the show, but um, like how can people get in touch with you?
SPEAKER_01Um there's there's always there's always yeah, there's always something. There's always something the Lord um and like I said, I just do it one step at a time. He's showing me all these many different projects and initiatives, if you will. But again, I have to say, Lord, show me the priority. What do you want me working on first? Because I was I'll start working on all of them. And and like, nope, we got then nothing gets nothing gets done, right? So um if you you can follow me on Facebook at Connie Tresetter, um, Connie Tresetter Ministries. There's if you if you opt in and and grab my free gift, you'll be on my email list. So you would hear about any live conferences. Uh there's there's a a live class I'm I'm going to be teaching. Um that might be something possible that someone could hop into. I also have digital courses that that take you through and really help you to rewire your brain, that that really help you to take control over your thoughts and emotions instead of your thoughts and emotions having control over you. So there's there's all sorts of of things. But yeah, you can you can follow me on on Instagram, uh, all the things. All the things.
SPEAKER_03Well, and I'll be sure to add her contact information in that show notes too to make it easy. Um, but thank you so much for coming on today. And thank you for being a brave voice who's setting so many free. Um, and as we close this episode today, I would love for you to just get in mind. Um, I do this for the one, and obviously for the more, but um for the one that's listening in today, do you have any other like words of wisdom or knowledge for this person? Would you pray us out today?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I would love to. I would love to pray. Um, Kristen, thank you for the opportunity. Lord, I just I just thank you for each and every person that's listening to this, Lord, and you know exactly what they need. And and Kristen and I, in with our finite brains, we we we can only do so much, but Lord, you know exactly what they need. And so, Lord, I just I just pray that they would be strengthened in their spirit today, that you would just spark that hope. You would ignite their faith for what you have called them to do. And anybody that is about ready to give up on their dream um is is thinking it's never going to work out for me. I see everyone else um moving forward, but it's just not working for me. I've tried so many things and it's not, Lord, if you would just get their attention and just hold their heart in your hand today. And like I said, just start to massage that and and to just bring hope back to them. That, oh no, no, no, no, you are not done yet. You are not done yet. God indeed has a good plan for you, a plan to prosper you, not to harm you, a plan to give you a hope in a future. Um, I just I just very much feel like there are people that need to hear, you are not, God is not finished with you yet. This is not the end. There, there is more ahead. Uh, and if you feel like you've been in this holding pattern, um, that this holding pattern is not a bad thing, right? If you are in a real holding pattern on a plane, you thank God for that holding pattern because it's causing you to not have a crash when you hit another plane that are both landing at the same time. Or, you know what I mean? There's a reason for that holding pattern. And so you can change the way you think and you can say, thank you, Lord, for this holding pattern. Maybe you want me to have more freedom. Maybe you're drawing me in closer. Maybe there is something that's
going to come from this season. And so just really embrace where the Lord has you. And and um I break off comparison right now in the name of Jesus. I just, uh, and if anyone feels like this could be um attacking them, just repeat this, just say the spirit, spirit of comparison, um, spirit of competition, I bind you, I cut off your influence to me. I break any and all agreement with any spirit of comparison, any spirit of competition. And I and I revoke any access I may have knowingly or unknowingly given these. And I just renounce and severate from my life, and I cast out any spirit of comparison and spirit of competition from my life now in Jesus' name. I refuse to partner with it. I only partner with God and God's truths. Thank you, Lord. So let them know that they they don't ever have to compare themselves because in your eyes, they are the one. They are you are undone when you look at them. You you love them so deeply and intimately, and he's got that plan. So hold on to your hats. Don't don't throw it in the ring. The Lord is not done. The Lord is not done. The Lord is not done. And which means he is the one that's that's going to do it. You don't have to have it all figured out. You can just take one step at a time, holding his hand. And I just pray, Lord, that you do. You lead each one in the way that they should go. That they that they're just staying in their lane. They don't have to look to the right or the left. They they just stay in their lane. And it's going to be, it's it's going to be just like you did for me, Lord. How fulfilled I feel. That's what you're going to do for these, because you're no respect of persons. What you do for one, you'll do for another. So, Lord, I just thank you for that fresh download of faith and and hope in each um one of Kristen's uh listeners today. Thank you so much, Lord, for for um allowing me this platform. Uh, I just pray that you bless Kristen uh immensely for all the work that she does, that that it's just multiplied back to her. And and again, just thank you for what you're going to do and how you're gonna bless each person that listens to this. In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen and amen.
SPEAKER_03Amen. You guys feel the fire from this fiery one? Oh my gosh, we'll have to have you back another time. I'm sure you're gonna have more to share as you continue on your journey. So thank you everyone. Like I said, I'll be sure to put the show notes, her contact information, books. Um, and then there's a freebie she's giving you guys as well. So thank you for that gift for everybody. I will be back with another episode next week. Thanks, listeners.
