In today’s episode of Transmit Safety, I talk about 3 things that frustrate me as a health and safety professional.

I have been really struggling to record this podcast episode. I initially wanted to talk about the 10 things that I hate about being a health and safety professional. But every time I turn the mic on, every time I’ve hit record for the last five days I circle back to something that's been very much a hot topic in the news.

And I don't even want to talk about the topic that has been in the news but what I will say is that it has led to me feeling a lot of frustration.

Whenever I'm frustrated about something, I take a moment and ask myself, “Why am I frustrated about this particular response?” And I'm starting to do some more self-reflection on that process.

So, in today's episode, I wanted to share some of the frustrations that I have as a health and safety professional.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The value of safety is not being put into action
  • Frustration as a trigger to try and understand where other people are coming from
  • Expecting to be an expert in way too many things as a health and safety professional but not having the resources to support that professional development
  • The lack of an internal support network as a health and safety professional

The Transmit Safety Podcast is here to help health and safety practitioners achieve a holistic approach to workplace health and safety so they can become impactful leaders and put the value of safety into action.
