#205 Waiting For The Promise Live On LTLT
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A storm rolls in while we’re reading Acts, and it turns into a living illustration of what Scripture has been saying all along: God can move through disruption, not just calm. We start in Acts 1 by setting the context for the Book of Acts and why Luke’s writing still matters for believers who want clarity, courage, and real spiritual growth, not just religious routine.
We walk through Jesus’ instruction to stay put and “wait for the promise of the Father,” then talk about what it means to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. We also address a question many people carry quietly: is speaking in tongues the only proof of being saved? We share a grounded, faith-forward perspective that keeps the focus where Acts keeps it: receiving power to be witnesses, not performing to impress people.
From the ascension to the upper room, from Judas’ tragic end to Matthias stepping into leadership, we watch God build a church that learns as it goes. Then Acts 2 hits with “suddenly” and Pentecost comes alive, with wind, fire, and Spirit-led utterance that draws a crowd and invites both amazement and mockery. That tension feels familiar when your life starts shifting and people watch to see if you’ll make it.
We close with a simple, demanding takeaway: trust in the Lord with all your heart, expect God to do what He said, and move in obedience even without all the details. If you’re walking through change, needing direction, or praying for miracles in your body, finances, or family, this teaching is for you. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review with what you’re believing God for right now.

Welcome And Setting The Room
SPEAKER_02Ministry of the one today is nothing we are doing the way the Lord tells us ministry, the way the Lord the enemy for God's glory. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Okay. I gotta run over here and get my coffee. Why everybody comes into the room? Good evening once again, Miss Brenda. Hallelujah. You want to turn your Bibles to Acts, the book of Acts. As people are coming in, we'll be praying in the next two minutes. I'm going over here and get my coffee. Hallelujah. And share, tag somebody you don't see. Hallelujah. Share if you feel good too. Amen. Hallelujah. Right back.
SPEAKER_00Hello, hello.
SPEAKER_02Apostle is here. God bless you, there, sir. Hey man, I'm glad you got to get here get get here before we got started. Look, you got your coffee too, Grenda. It's been a long day, y'all. I have no idea. Oh my gosh. Oh man. Man, it's been a long time since I packed and moved anything to that magnitude. You hear what I'm saying? You know, for real, for real, the last time that we moved as many boxes as we moved today was when we got a huge shipment from Walmart. A couple of years, about three, about two, about three years ago. Oh my goodness. I've never seen so much stuff that that day, but I saw it today. Hallelujah. As we was moving them boxes, my God. And we ain't done yet. We're gonna get through it. Hallelujah. Okay, we in the book of Acts. I'm a minute late. Let's pray. Father, thank you again for this day. Thank you, God, for all that we have, you have allowed us to be able to make it through on today. We pray that now as we get ready to go into your word, God, you will open up our eyes so we can see, open up our ears so we can hear, and open up our hearts that we might receive what it is that you're saying to us in this hour. I pray in the name of Jesus that you will use me to your glory. I pray, God, that you will have your way. I pray, God,
Opening Prayer And Focus
SPEAKER_02that you would just continue to shape us, make us, mold us into the men and women of God you desire us to be. God, we are so grateful for who you are. We're grateful for all that you give us on a day-to-day basis. Thank you, thankful for your grace and your mercy. God, I pray that you would just have your way here for we turn it over to you. In Jesus Christ's name we do pray. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. And amen. Thank you so much for tagging. I appreciate you doing that. Hallelujah. Y'all can hear me well. I changed some settings on my computer. Um, and y'all can hear me good. Y'all let me know. Just say yes in the in the chat. That'll be awesome. I appreciate it. We're gonna be going into the book of Acts. We keep reading the letters that we wrote, but let's make sure that we know exactly Saul, whose name was changed to Paul, is hallelujah. So the book of Acts provides a glimpse into the first three decades of the early church, um, which was uh 30 to 63 AD, um, as it spread and multiplied after the ascension of Jesus Christ. It is not a detailed or comprehensive history, rather, it focuses on the role played by apostles such as Peter, who ministered primarily to Jews and Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles. Hallelujah. Um, there's a beautiful picture here in my Bible. Uh, it is um Roman Aqueduct duct duct at Caesarea Maritima, uh, one of Israel's principal port cities in the first century. Um, became the capital of the province of Judea, served as the official home of the Roman procurator. Procurators. The city is a setting for several pivotal events, and then they got um some scripture references here, but it's absolutely gorgeous. Uh it's right at the seat. Hallelujah. I don't know where everybody is. Well, let me tag, let me share. I forgot to share it myself. Then we're gonna get into okay. Let me share it myself. Oh boy. I'm starting to feel it in my body already, Lord and share it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02All right, I've shared it myself. Okay, so um, let's start with chapter one. There's a lot of other a lot of other information I could share, but I won't. I was just we are just gonna dig into this. Alright.
unknownThat's good.
SPEAKER_00Strong too.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so Acts 1, verse 1. The former trist treatise may have I made oh oh gosh, here we go, these names. Um Theophilus, Theophilus, he says, of all that you that Jesus began both to do and teach. He says, until the day in which he was taken up, after that, he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen, to whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. So, what he shares here is that
Why Acts Matters And Who Luke Writes To
SPEAKER_02Paul, or not Paul, but uh he shares that Jesus that this is this is like a preview, or this goes in, it's kind of like you know how the narrator narrator uh shares uh what is already what you know the setting of what they're about to see and what they're about to hear about. Well, this is what uh this is what the writer shares here. So um we get the prephase links. The preface links the book of Acts explicitly with the former treatise in the gospel uh of Luke. Through the books are separate, though the books are separate in the New Testament. Um can means I guess it's out of order. It says both were probably written by Luke, traveling companion of Paul. Books are both large enough to feel a complete scroll, and so it's unlikely that they were ever joined as a single book. Books of Acts were written after the gospel of Luke, as is indicated by the preface. Uh, Luke builds the companion narratives on a broad chronologically uh that begins with the birth of Jesus and extends his life, death, resurrection, and ascension. He next shows the expansion of the church from Jerusalem to Rome. Acts closes with Paul awaiting trial in Rome. Like the first volume, the second is addressed to a person named uh Theophilus. Theophilus. Some speculate that Theophilus was a lit literally, a literally figure representing Christian generally, but more likely he was an actual historical person. Something on the bias of Luke 1, verse 1 through for that Theophilus, Theophilus, was a seeker after God, and that Luke aimed to explain Christian Christianity to him. Others think that Theophil, y'all bear with me with this word, Lord and Mercy. I'm about to skip, y'all know what I'm trying to say. It was a recent convert who required instruction in his newfound faith. Still, others suggest he was an early church leader to whom Luke provided a summary of events surrounding the rise of Christianity. There's a little bit more blog here. Uh, but I'm going to go on and explain and read what it says from verses 2 and 3. It says, before his ascension, Jesus suffered the agony of death, passion, and then showed himself alive to the disciples. The proofs included appearing to the disciples during the 40 days between his resurrection and ascension. During this time, Jesus instructed them about the kingdom of God. Oh, gosh, that's a whole lot of information, right? Hallelujah. Uh, let's see. God bless all out of all our physical bodies, amen. Oh. Wait a minute. What am I doing? I'm messing up hitting the wrong buttons. Lord and mercy. Mm-hmm. Um, all of all of our physical bodies, amen. And Valita is here. Hello and hello again. I think I might have I don't know what I did possible. I I hit something. And I don't know what I hit. Thunder idea. Oh goodness, y'all. When it's thundering, I'm telling you now, I usually cut everything off. Get the thundering too bad. I'm gonna I'm gonna wrap it up real fast. Because uh, look, the Lord is doing his work, and I am not getting in the way. Hallelujah. So he reminds us of what was happening at the time, and then verse 4 says, and being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which saith he, saith he, saith he, ye have heard of me. He says, For John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence. So Jesus, we know red letters represents the words of Jesus. So Jesus says that it is now time for it's time for them to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Why? Because he has ascended, hallelujah, and he showed himself um after the resurrection, hallelujah, and this is um, I believe, when um they were in the upper room, and Jesus came to them, and he came to them, and that's when the Bible is talking about how they were speaking in different languages and they were praising the Lord, and they were just really speaking in their in their Holy Ghost tongue because the Holy Ghost had taken over, hallelujah. Um, so being baptized with the Holy Ghost, isn't that something? Amen. Have you been baptized with the Holy
Jesus Commands Them To Wait
SPEAKER_02Ghost? Hallelujah. Do you realize do you understand what that looks like? The reality is like certain denominations use the speaking of tongues to dictate whether or not you um have been saved. Um, and you know, I I don't necessarily agree with that. I'm sure that's part of it, but I didn't speak with my Holy Ghost tongue till I was 15, no, 14 years in, 13 years in, I'm sorry. Yeah, before I even started to talk in my Holy Spirit and my Holy Ghost tongue, but am I filled with the Holy Ghost? I believe that I am, hallelujah, even before I began to express it through tongues. Hallelujah. So, uh, but this is what Jesus said he would do. Um, this was a promise. Verse 6, he says, When they therefore were come together, they asked of him saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom of Israel? And he said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in his own power. Hallelujah. So they began to uh conversate with Jesus, and Jesus says basically says to them, That is that oh, I don't like look, that's not your concern. Hallelujah. Um thank you for sharing Jacqueline. If it gets too bad, I promise y'all, we're gonna pick this up another day, but it won't be today. You hear what I'm saying? Because anyway, um so he says, it's not for us to know some things. This is just one of these instances, instances where disciples are asking questions. Out there, y'all. Disciples are asking questions, and Jesus is giving them an answer. He says, It's not for you to know. You don't need to know. Hallelujah. Some things we ask, we don't need to know. Some people they get off and out of shape, and they keep on asking, keep on asking, keep on asking. And we ought to know that the Lord hears us, but he doesn't have to answer us. Come on, somebody, hallelujah. He hears us, but he don't have to answer us. Why? Because he's God all by himself. Because he says what? He says the Father has put in his own power. Hallelujah. Hello, did I say? I think I did. Hello, and hello if I didn't. I'm telling you, I am scatterbang brain for real. That son did a number on me today. Verse 8. He says, But ye shall receive power. What we need to know that we shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you. Okay? When the Holy Ghost has come upon you, Jesus says, This is when you're gonna be able to walk in his power. Hallelujah. Amen. This is where we can see, I don't know exactly the script where it's at, but he said, people have a form of godliness, but they deny the power, hallelujah. They have some traits, some attributes of godliness. They do, but they're not walking in the power that is attached to him. Hallelujah. Amen. To God be the glory. He says, look, he says, the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Hallelujah. Amen. He says, the fact that my power is within you is in you. He said, that's proof. Oh man, that see that brain good. That brain is coming. Look, he said, verse 9. And when he had spoken these things while they beheld, he was taken up. Can you imagine? He said, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. Hallelujah. He says, and while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel. He says, which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. So what he's talking about here is they're watching Jesus go up, but at the same time, he comes within these other two um angelic bodies. Amen. And and I hear in the the as or I pick up that he's saying, I'm omnipresent. I'm everywhere. Y'all looking up in the in the heaven, but I'm still right here with you. Hallelujah. They're looking up in heaven as if he went somewhere, but he says, but I'm right here. I see the light. Y'all is gray and it is getting it. Y'all know what? It was so hot today. Jackie, her thing, barometer red 101 degrees outside. That's why it's storming like crazy out there. It's just as gray as I want to be. That's why. It's extremely, extremely hot um here. I I'm I'm I'm holding steady, y'all. Come on back, come on back. I'm gonna try to go tell to end the chapter out, okay? Hallelujah. But look at 12. He says, then return on, then return they unto Jerusalem. Sorry. Mother's duty never stops. Look, he says, then return they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet. No, Olivet, which is from Jerusalem, a Sabbath day journey. He says, and when they were come in, they went up into an upper room where abode both Peter. My um camera is stable right now. I will take it and show y'all. Look like uh look like clouds. Look like clouds are passing along with the rain and the wind. Like you can see, it's like a look like a smoke coming past my window. It's weird looking. I assume it's the rain, but that's what we look like. Look at clouds passing through. That is so weird, y'all. Realize that's weird. It's rumbling out there big time, y'all. Look, we abode both, he says, where abode both Peter and James and John and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Barfat, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, the son of Alphaeus, and Simon, Zee
Power Of The Holy Ghost
SPEAKER_02Lotus, and Judas, the brother of James. These all continue with one accord in prayer and supplication with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. So all of these people are in the upper room. Hallelujah. All of them in one place. They are um they are in essence waiting on the Holy Ghost to arrive. Hallelujah. We got a couple of comments. Jackie said, Yep, I think she's talking about outside. And an apostle said, Praise the Lord. Oh, that makes me nervous. Oh my goodness. Lord, calm the storm. Do what you need to do, but calm the storm. That's what I say, y'all. I say it all the time. Hallelujah. Um, when it's rough out there like now, then I said peace. I said storm. I said I tell I I talk to the wind all the time to the storm. Peace be still. Peace be still. Y'all, y'all be praying. Peace be still. And it's lightning. You got that right. That's make that's what really make me a little nervous. Anyway. Okay. Y'all let's focus. Let's try to focus here. Ooh. The wind and rain is crazy, right? Uh, it's lightning too, right? Yeah. Y'all hear my blinds hitting the door? I mean, my um screen hitting the door. The wind blew my table umbrella over the top of the house, on top of the house, into the backyard. Very strong storm. You can almost expect it as hot, as hot as it's been the last two days. Good evening, Miss Angela. God bless you. God bless you. Wow, Valida said, I'm telling you, like I can see it really, really good right now. Like it's just passing through. I mean, the cloud. Look like clouds just passing through. Through here. You hear me? That's what they look like. But it's it's not as gray as it was right at the moment. It's look like it's clearing up a little bit. Maybe it's slowing down. I hope so. Lord, mercy. We are, Miss Angel, we are, and anybody else who is in the room, say hello and hello again. We are in Acts chapter 1, verse 15. Um, we really are, it's almost like the spirit is setting the stage, setting the stage for us, and we're getting a uh uh we're getting you know um the scene of how everything is being set at this point, right? Um, so we just read where the disciples, including uh Mary, who is Jesus' mother, and other women, and some of the disciples, they're all in the upper room, and now it says verse 15, and in those days Peter stood up in the middle of the disciples and said, The number of names together were about a hundred and twenty. Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us and had obtained part of this ministry. Verse 18, he says, Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity and fallen headlong. He burst asunder in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out. Whoa. I have read that several times, but that's the first time I saw that. Wow. Verse 19. He said, and it was known unto all who dwell. All my stuff is on the porch movement, y'all. Every last bit of it. I don't even see the chair. Oh see, I just heard the chair, y'all just oh my god, the door was kidding. Jesus. My nerves is a wreck. Okay. Come on back. Oh back. Let's see. It says, okay, so it says, and it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem, in so much as that field is called in their proper tongue a seldom. That is to say the field of blood. I didn't know that that was that was that. Hallelujah. Peace be still. Yes. Peace be still in the name of Jesus. Peace be still. Let's all say it together. Peace be still in the name of Jesus. Mother Brown is here. Hello, and hello. And Miss Angel said hello to everybody. And she also said love, peace, and blessings. Hallelujah. So this is why this field was called the field of blood, because this man purchased it, uh, and his reward for purchasing it was iniquity. Um and so let me see a little bit. Let me read a little bit of commentary about it. So the differences, the differences between the two New Testament accounts of Judas's death should not be overemphasized. Both agreed that he died a shameful death, and that a field was named after his treacherous deed. Matthew 27 and 5 says Judas hanged himself, possibly after he did, so his body decayed and fell from the rope, bursting open. I knew that obviously we all know that Judas hung himself, but I had no idea that he had burst. Wow. And so that's that's that's what it was. Okay, so I see I just learned something new. I didn't know that that he that with the same money that he had gotten from betraying Jesus was the same money that he used about this field and then hung himself. I had no idea. So I learned something new. You heard what I'm saying? Hallelujah. Did y'all know that? Put it in the chat. Did y'all know that? I didn't know that. See? Learning how to live in truth. This is what it's for for us to learn together. Hallelujah. Mother Brown said, Peace be still. Everyone, hallelujah. I hate to say it look clear. Last time I said that, it looked like you got worse. You heard me. I ain't saying that no more. The Lord is doing his work. Look at verse 20. He said, For it is written in the book of Psalms, let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein. And his bishop, let another take. Let me see. He says, Wherefore of these men which has companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be witness with us of his resurrection. Commentary. The person selected to take Judas' place had to have accompanied the disciples throughout the course of Jesus' ministry so that he could speak about the things he had seen personally. Okay, so that's what that means. That seemed like that was roundabout and around and around in a circle, but there's the clarity. Everybody got that? So verses um 21 and 22. Um well 20 serves as a as a a um as a witness to what is in the book of Psalms. But 21 and 22 was basically saying that they had to find a disciple that had been there when Jesus was there so that they could become a witness. They could be a witness for what they had seen, just as Judas did. Okay? So we got two in the room, three in the room that didn't know that. I had no clue. Hmm. I got a feeling, y'all. We're gonna learn a whole bunch of stuff we didn't know. The last time we read this book. You hear me? I did not know that.
SPEAKER_00Hmm.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Alright, so we are in verse 23. He says, and they appointed to Joseph called Bar Sabus, who was surnamed Justice and Matha Matthias. And they prayed and then, no, and they prayed and said, Thou Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, show whether of these two thou hast chosen, that he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression failed, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots, and the lot
Ascension And The Upper Room
SPEAKER_02fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. So Matthias was the was the disciple to replace Judas. Hallelujah. Okay, we can go on, keep on going. Um, because I was gonna stop at one. If it was doing what it was doing a few minutes ago, I was gonna stop. You're saying I'm gonna be fooling around, no stones. I stick my tail down somewhere and I'll be quiet. Normally, but but God, somebody said, but God. Hallelujah, amen. Um, so we're in chapter two now. We have the time, so we're gonna keep on going. He says, verse 1. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. So all of them again was together. And suddenly, somebody say suddenly in the chat, suddenly, there came a sound from heaven, and that sound of heaven was as of a rushing mighty wind. Kind of like what happened to us just now. Hallelujah. Everybody in different places, but all of us seen and heard the Lord moving through the storm. Hallelujah. I think it's still lightning a bit. We saw the wind, we saw the rain, we heard the noise. Look, look, look, look. This is so weird, y'all. Because it's almost like God is saying, Yes, I am here. I am here. Hallelujah. And I'm coming through the storm, too. Come on, come on, prophesy. Somebody coming out of the storm. Yeah, somebody receiving right now in the name of Jesus. Somebody's coming out of the storm. Hallelujah. I know I don't know if y'all heard it where y'all was. I just now heard him speak a little bit and say, I'm still here. Hallelujah. Amen. Because this storm didn't start until I started this. He said, Look, there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled all the house where they were sitting. Come on, somebody. Oh my gosh. Ma. Oh you know, have you ever had your your heart feel like your heart skip a beat? Because you're nervous a little bit. That was just that was a little weird. Hallelujah. I can feel the spirit. Jesus. Woo! Mother Brown said, she said this suddenly. Hallelujah. Jackie said, I've received it. Hallelujah. And Miss Brenda said, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Something is happening. I can feel it. He says, and it filled all the house, uh, filled all the house where they were sitting. He says, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
SPEAKER_00Y'all hear it? Jesus.
SPEAKER_02But I hope, Miss Angela, you can hear everything, see everything that is happening. I don't know what kind of what is going on with weather-wise on your side. Because she's she's not here in Virginia with us. And so I don't know what you're experiencing there, but um, hmm. That's all I can say, because I hear the thunder still rolling. Hallelujah. He said, the tongues, like as of fire, sat on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. He said, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Hallelujah. The tongues ain't nothing that we can practice. Hallelujah. The Holy Spirit gets it started. What he started, what he starts, he will finish. Hallelujah. I'm telling you, I'm telling you, y'all. Hey, I feel I don't know what is going on. I hear noises out there now. Suddenly, there goes, there's there go there's there goes this week's word suddenly. Hallelujah. Suddenly, there goes this week's word, suddenly. Hallelujah. Suddenly, to God be the glory. Mother Diane said, Oh my god, we got some rumbling and it didn't do anything else. He says, verse 5, I'm going on, y'all. He said, and there were and there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now, when this was noised abroad, so everybody was talking about it, he says, the multitude came together. They came and see, they came to see what was going on. Hallelujah. Oh, Jesus, I hear a word. He says, and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in his own language. Hallelujah. They heard the commotion, they seen something was going on and they came running. In that hour day, hallelujah. Something is going on and they are coming running. Look, we are relocating. They've heard the noise and they come running. Hallelujah. Do you hear me? They're trying to figure out what is going on. What is going on? Hallelujah. Amen. Some of us are experiencing things we ain't we ain't never seen before. Hallelujah. And people are watching us, they are running to see what is going on. Hallelujah. And really, what is it? It is the hand of God moving. Because that is what the Holy Spirit, it is the hand of God moving upon all flesh. Hallelujah. And when he hits us, he sets a fire
Judas’ Death And Replacing His Office
SPEAKER_02in motion that cannot be put out. Come on, somebody. Hallelujah. He sets a fire that cannot no man put out. Said the storm hasn't gotten there yet. She said, but the sun is shining, but I know it's coming. Hallelujah. I'm trying to keep it together, y'all. Trying to keep it together. You heard me? But I'm excited. I'm excited. Because I can feel. It's one thing to know about the power in the hand of God. It's one thing to know about it. But when you begin to experience it, it changes the dynamics. Hallelujah. Amen. Because you begin to see the impossible working through you. You begin to see things shifting, things moving in your favor. Oh my goodness. Oh my gosh, y'all. I'm just trying to keep it together here. Oh, hallelujah. Come on, y'all. Come on. Look. Reinverse 7. He says, and they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, but oh, are not all these which speak Galatean Galile Galileans?
SPEAKER_01Who are they? Wait a minute. I see a new thing.
SPEAKER_02I ain't never seen that before. Somebody saying that about you. I ain't never seen that before. They're still going. They're still moving. Oh come on, somebody. Oh, wait a minute. I know, I know, I know that I'm watching. I people been watching ELCM for years. Hallelujah. A whole lot of folk counted us out. Look, this is before we even got the four walls. Hallelujah. People were watching. They were doing a whole lot of spectating. Hallelujah. Just waiting for our downfall. They expect us to close our doors. Come on, somebody. I said, oh no, we're relocating. They're marveling. Hallelujah. Just the same as they didn't expect you to survive the loss of your job. They didn't expect you to survive the loss of your home. They didn't expect you to survive the doctor's diagnosis. Come on, somebody. They didn't expect you to survive that. They didn't expect you to survive. By this, somebody say but God. Because now they're watching your season shift. Come on, somebody. Somebody say shift. They're watching your season shift. Come on. They're watching some things come into fruition. Hallelujah. They're watching some things come because you manifested it. You spoke it as it were, and now it is.
SPEAKER_01What they doing? What they do?
unknownCome on, somebody.
SPEAKER_02He said, verse 8, and how hear we, every man, and our tongue wherein we were born. I don't recognize the sound. I don't recognize. I know how they grew up, but I don't recognize that power that they possess. I don't recognize that authority they walk in. I don't understand. I don't see how in the world they dominated in the way that they are. How are they making it? Right here. They're saying, how is this happening? I've never even heard of anything that they'll say.
SPEAKER_01What is it?
SPEAKER_02Somebody say it's God.
SPEAKER_01Come on. Jesus.
SPEAKER_02Y'all just want to scream. I'm not gonna do it. Hallelujah. Because I got people above me, people below me. Do you hear what I'm saying? Jesus. I feel the shift in the atmosphere. Come on. Hallelujah. I feel a shift in the atmosphere. Miss Brenda said, hallelujah, and praise God. Jackie said, shift. She can feel it. Hallelujah. She can see, she received it already. The shift. Hallelujah. But God, Miss Brenda said, Apostle said, that will begin to happen. It's already happening. Hallelujah. It's already happening. Amen. In ELCM. One will speak in tongues and you will hear it in your language. Hallelujah. It's already happening. Amen. To God. We don't gotta look for it because it's already happening. Because it already happened in heaven. And it's manifesting. It's happening right now. A little bit at a time. One by one. Hallelujah. Because most folk fear what they don't understand. Most people they fear what they don't understand. But when you understand it, you can walk in it. Hallelujah. We understand that the tongue is the Holy Spirit. And I say, we say, let the Spirit move. Hallelujah. Look, he says, verse 9. Partheas and Medis and Elamites and the dwellers in Mesopotomia and in Judea and Capodia in Arcus and Asia, Pergama, and Philia and Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Sari, Sarene, and strangers of Rome, Jews, Jews, and I know the word. I can't say that word. Oh God. I can't say it. I can hear it in my head, but it won't come out. Hallelujah. Amen. Look. Crate and Arabians, we do hear them speaking our language, our tongues. The wonderful works of God. He says, and they were all amazed and were in doubt. We're in doubt, saying one to another, what meaneth this? I don't get it, and I don't understand it, so it can't be real. Hallelujah. It's gotta be the devil. That's what most people think. Because I can't comprehend it. I ain't never seen it before. This can't be God. That's gotta be the devil. See, this is how they ended up putting Jesus on the cross. Hallelujah. Because they couldn't get past the law. Hallelujah. Even though everything that he would do, everything that he did, it was in the law. But they they read the law, they did not understand the law. Because if they understood the law, they would have recognized him. Hallelujah. Based on what they understood about the law. Amen. They didn't realize they were the Pharisees that the Bible was talking about. Hallelujah. That's what most of us think. We don't realize that. We don't realize that at the end of the day, they talk about us. Hallelujah. Sometimes they talk about us. Amen. We're so busy saying, Oh, well, you know, you ain't supposed to be doing that. You did that, and you got a whole bunch of words to say. You don't even realize it. You're talking about yourself. Hallelujah. Come on back. Come on back, Catherine. He says, They were all amazed and were doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking, saying, These men are full of new wine. Do you hear what I'm saying? Because people don't understand oftentimes. They think that you're crazy. They ain't got no substance. They ain't got nothing. How in the world they got this? How are they doing that? Hallelujah. They ain't no better than me. You know, these are the thoughts that come to mind when people can't understand what God is doing. Hallelujah. This is why you gotta understand that when you're talking about the things of God, you are a part of a movement. Hallelujah. You're a part of a God that is alive. Amen. He's not dead. God is not dead. Amen. He's very much alive. And we become, we are his representatives. Amen. This is why we're set apart. This is why we don't look like uh the average Joe. This is why we have a light. This is why we are lights, amen. So we can be seen. Amen. He allowed them to go into to come into this moment together, to speak in tongues in their own language. And what did it do but draw attention to them? Hallelujah. Because one light is is bright, but what happens when you get 120
Pentecost Suddenly Breaks Loose
SPEAKER_02in one room? Hallelujah. It is, it does not go unnoticed. Amen. I hope that that makes sense. Like at the end of the day, we are going to stand out. Amen. We are going to stand out. And I right here, this message is for us. And you know, when you're looking from the lenses of refinement, this is where he's getting us to. Because Jesus was there with them all of that time. Hallelujah. And once he had gone through the resurrection and risen up, they still didn't recognize him until it was a way that he looked, and it was something that they said. And women's like, Master, wait, that's you. You did say you was gonna come back. Hallelujah. Even the disciples themselves, they knew what was gonna happen. Jesus already told them what was gonna happen, and they still wasn't expecting it to happen. Hallelujah. We gotta learn how to start to expect things to happen. Amen. We're talking about it, talking about the miracles of God, talking about this, talking about that. But what are you expecting? What are you expecting? Hallelujah! And the reality is, don't nobody else gotta believe it as long as you do. Hallelujah. Amen. They believed Jesus, they walked with Jesus, and Jesus blessed their obedience. Hallelujah. But what Jesus gave them, it was nothing they had ever experienced in their life. Y'all put your thoughts together, hallelujah. I'm gonna read them. Do you hear what I'm saying? Because we're stopping right here at 13. Jesus gave them something that not nothing physical could do for their spirit. He gave them total access to him through the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. Amen. Nothing can compare to the Holy Ghost operating through you. Look, yes, tongues are great, tongues are important, but it goes deeper even than that. I'm telling you, clarity and understanding and direction, those they are uncomparable to anything. Hallelujah. I share this all the time, especially in the morning time. Like it's a feeling like you will never experience with anything. Hallelujah. Amen. Nothing can give you what Jesus had. If you make yourself available to him, hallelujah. You choose to move. If you move in obedience, God's gonna do something. He's gonna open up a door for you. Hallelujah. I'm telling you. He is, it requires you to trust him with your whole heart. Hallelujah. Amen. Miss Brennan said, nobody but God, hallelujah, ELCM is make making a God move. You don't have to understand, it's just the move in his glory. You can stop right there. Hallelujah. Amen. Because again, people don't get it. They are, but I promise you, they're watching. Amen. And if you're doing anything different, that's uh that's not of the norm, they are absolutely watching. Hallelujah. They're not watching and clapping, they're watching to see. See, let me see if they're gonna make it, if they gonna make it. Hallelujah. Belita said, Blood God, hallelujah. Amen, mother. Just move with the spirit, ask questions if you need to, but move with the spirit. Hallelujah. Amen. God does not forsake our questions. You heard me? Hallelujah. But don't be surprised if he don't answer your question right away. Hallelujah. Because that is the beauty of trust. Not just trust, trust, but faith. Hallelujah. Amen. Because it's easy for us to move when we have all the answers. Amen. Hallelujah. Down top, down, down, down in Thomas. Hallelujah. He said, I won't believe unless I see the holes in his hand and touch him in his side. So he said, He said, I won't believe until then. And Jesus spoke to that. Look, okay, you needed to see. That's fine. But the greater blessing is when you're moving in your faith, when you can't see a thing and you are going forth anyhow. Hallelujah. Amen. Look, I'm telling you, where we the location that God gave to us, amen. I just didn't. I I know what I wanted, but I kept on looking. I kept on looking. I kept on looking. Hallelujah. Because I knew God has something else for us, because He told me so. Hallelujah. And we just began to pack. I promise you, we began to pack. That where we're going, I don't know. But we're going somewhere. Hallelujah. Faith. He honors our faith. Amen. You better believe it. He honors our faith. He honors your faith. Amen. You do not have to have all of the answers to move in obedience. Hallelujah. Amen. Defiance can create delay. That's all I'm gonna say. Hallelujah. Look. Wrapping it up. Mother Brown said God just wants you to trust what he can do, not what man thinks he can do. Hallelujah. Believe God for the impossible. Know that's nothing, that nothing is impossible for him. Just trust and believe. Hallelujah. I expect a miracle. Apostle said, I expect a miracle. Hallelujah. Expect it. And you'll receive it. Hallelujah. Jackie said, We work, we get a check, we expect a check. We need to do the same with God. Like Rob. Y'all better say it again. I've got to read that again. That was good. Jackie, that was really good. That was good. She said, We work, we get a check. Why? Because we expect a check. So we need to do God. Do the same thing with God. Come on, somebody. Girl. That's a word right there. That's a word. It's a whole sermon. Hallelujah. That's a whole sermon. Y'all not gonna rear me up again, you hear me? We gotta get out of here. Uh let's see. Brother Brown said we was packing and singing, packing. We getting ready to go. Hallelujah. And she's not lying. Hallelujah. So true. Uh Valida said, just trust in the process and watch the outcome. Hallelujah. Yep, another mic dropped. You heard me. Hallelujah. So while y'all are putting more comments in, I'm gonna go ahead and pray. Uh, because we are past the time. So, Father, thank you so much for this day. Thank you for everything that has happened throughout it. Thank you, God, for giving us strength, giving us um all that we need in order to move what we could today as a ministry. God, I pray in the name of Jesus, you will continue to guide our steps in our ministry, God. I pray in the name of Jesus, Lord, that you would give us um a favor with people, give us favor with businesses, give us favor in regard to finances, God. I pray that you would open, continue, because the windows open, God. I pray that you will continue to open up windows that only you can open, Father, and keep them open, God. Pour out so many blessings that we can't even stand it, God. Your word teaches us that, God. Thank you, God, for the Jabaz prayer, that we continue to pray it endlessly, that you will continue to bless us indeed, continue to enlarge our territory. Keep your hands, God, there with us, God, because we know there are rotten devils coming in trying to steal, kill, and destroy. But God, we pray that you will keep evil away, that we might be able to continue to bring forth fruit in this season, not just in the ministry, but within ourselves, that we bring forth fruit in the name of Jesus, that we will expect you to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think, because it is according to the power that is working in us, God. We are expecting supernatural things to happen in our favor. We are expecting miracles to happen in our physical bodies, in our finances, in the people that we are connected to, God. We pray for each and every one that says, pray for me, God. Bless them as you see fit, make them whole, God. I pray in the name of Jesus, you will continue to shape us, make us, mold us into the men and women of God you desire us to be, God.
When People Mock What They Fear
SPEAKER_02Lead God and order our steps in the way that we ought to go. I pray in the name of Jesus that we can do the things that are pleasing and acceptable in your sight. Father, we thank you, God, for each and everything that you give us, large or small, God. We thank you for the things that we take for granted so often. Thank you, God, for the people in our lives, God. Thank you, God, for each and every relationship that we have, God. Thank you, God, for our husbands and wives, God. Thank you, God, for our children, God. Thank you, God, for parents and brothers and sisters and all of the people that are near to us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. God, we pray for those who are lost today, that they will be found in the name of Jesus. They will be found. Hallelujah. I pray, God, that we will continue to exalt you for who you are. Hallelujah. We thank you, Father. We give you glory, honor, and all the praise. We pray that this prayer is pleasant and acceptable in your sight. We pray that we ask it in Jesus' mighty name. We can pray. Amen. Amen. And hallelujah. To God be the glory. Hallelujah. And hallelujah. My takeaway is trust in the Lord with all your heart. Jesus is Lord. Amen. Hallelujah. And I am got some amen coming through. Amen and amen to God be the glory. I am so glad that I get to do this every day. Hallelujah. I am grateful. I'm so thankful that I moved in obedience and came back to this. Hallelujah. Because I found out here in the last couple of days that this is what I'm supposed to be doing. Hallelujah. Amen. Somebody it's a camera. It's a camera. No. There's people on the other side of that camera. Hallelujah. And I'm able to impact them. Amen. With what? With how God uses me. May not be a whole lot of people. That's okay. Amen. If we impact one, one at a time. That's good. Hallelujah. Because Jesus left the 99 to go after one. Hallelujah. Amen. So I am grateful that I get to do this. I am grateful that I get to serve you. Amen. With my heart. Hallelujah. With what I understand. Amen. Because it didn't have to be. He could have chosen somebody else. Hallelujah. But I get to do this. Amen. And I dare you to take on that mindset. I get to do whatever you're doing. Just say, I get to do that. Hallelujah. I promise you, it's going to change your perspective in how you do it. Hallelujah. Because he could have chosen somebody else to do the thing that you're doing. Hold this too. Can't nobody do what you do. Hallelujah. What you get to do and what he's ordained for you to do, nobody else can do it like you. Hallelujah. So somebody be encouraged with that. You make sure you come on back with me on Monday where we pick this up right here at verse 14. Chapter 1, verse 14. And we're going to take, no, chapter 2, I'm sorry. Verse 14. We're going to go on through, take a go as far as the Lord said, go in the book of Acts. Amen. And we're going to go, we're just going to keep on pressing forward. Hallelujah. Pressing toward the mark. Amen. Y'all pray for us over at ELCM as we are relocating. You know, all of that requires time and effort to get everything organized and ready to serve God's people. Hallelujah. Y'all pray for us. If you want to sew into the ministry, that would be awesome as well. You can go to our website. I think it's elcmlife.org. I think. Check the bio on this page that the
