CMOS Support for Trans Women and Men After Surgery. Welcome back to the Push CMOS podcast. I'm your host and founder of Push CMOS, Cynthia. So today's episode is about healing, nourishment, and supporting members of the trans community. Well, who may be recovering from gender-affirming surgery. So before we begin today, I just want to say we're not medical professionals here at Push Podcast. This podcast is not medical advice. Always follow the recommendations of your surgeon and healthcare team. But today I did want to discuss nutrition, hydration, minerals, and wellness support during recovery. Because at Push CMOS, um, and just within myself, uh, we believe and I believe that everyone and everyone's body deserves nourishment and care during the healing process. So I decided to do a podcast on trans women and men after being out, and I met someone with gender-affirming surgery, and we were just kind of talking about like how they felt, and obviously they felt so good, or she felt so good. And then I got into, you know, modeling CMOS, and then we started talking about like inflammation and healing and what that was looking like. And so I'm like, you know what, let me do a podcast on this and kind of research because I always get questions or DMs about certain topics. So why not this? This is so interesting, and I love going on a healing and healthy journey with you guys. So let's get into it. What happens during surgical? Whether someone is recovering from top surgery, breast augmentation, facial feminization surgery, body contouring procedures, phalloplasty, medioplasty, or any other surgical procedure, the body experiences similar healing demands. Recovery often includes inflammation, tissue repair, increased nutritional needs, temporary fatigue, immune system stress, and of course emotional ups and downs. You're navigating a new body. So, yes, it it's a lot. Not everyone's recovery journey is the same. You know, some people heal quickly and others need more time, but both experiences are completely normal. Now I want to get into why nutrition matters after surgery. So let's talk about the body and what it's experiencing. After surgery, the body is working hard to, of course, repair that tissue, build new cells, support healthy circulation, reduce the inflammation, restore energy, and support immune function. So with that, your healing requires much protein, you need a lot of fluids to stay hydrated, added minerals, rest, and of course, time. And now, this is where CMOS may offer nutritional support. So let's see how CMOS can help. I want to put out there, CMOS is not a treatment. CMOS is not our cure, but it is a naturally mineral-rich food that may help replenish nutrients during recovery. CMOS contains minerals that support overall wellness. I would love to break down each mineral and how it can help support your body. So, first up, I love to deep dive in how and what minerals do what and how to your body. You just need to know these things. So when you're feeling a little fatigued, I always say listen to your body. When you are low on a certain nutrient, your body will tell you, and it's really great through meditation and becoming more in tune with your body, your body does speak to you. So no, excuse me, let's get into the nutrients. So, first up, magnesium. Magnesium may help support muscle relaxation, nervous system function, and stress management. So, magnesium is really great for the ups and downs after surgery. How you may be feeling a little regret, a little apprehensive, a little bit of excitement that might give you a little anxiety. Magnesium is great for that. Zinc. Zinc may help support immune function, tissue repair, normal wound healing. The immune system is everything. When that is off, the body is deteriorating. So you need proper immune function support. Tissue repair, you know, the surgeons in there cutting and adding and taking away. You want to make sure you heal properly so that you can get the best results. So when you do look at yourself naked in the mirror, you're happy with what you see. Now, iron. Iron helps support energy level and healthy blood production. Potassium that supports hydration, muscle function, and nerve health. We need those nerves to be working. And hydration is really great because it makes you glow and you won't look dull. So that new body is going to be nice and shiny and you're just going to be beautiful. And then uh the last um mineral I'm going to talk about is iodine. Thyroid function, metabolism, and energy. When the thyroid's off, everything is off. Weight gain, ups and downs, mood swings, um, metabolism. You want to keep that metabolism active so you're not gaining or losing too much weight. And this new body, you want it to look not perfect, but how it's supposed to to you. And then, of course, energy production. Once you're all healed up, you need the energy to flaunt what you just got, you know, and I'm so excited for you. Now let's get into the importance of hydration. One of the most overlooked parts of recovery is hydration. Now we're gonna dive deeper. So proper hydration helps circulation, digestion, nutrient transport, and energy levels. Many people enjoy CMOS and your smoothies. If you mix it in water, we have our CMOS waters, which a lot of um people who are going, a lot of my patients, I I think I've spoken about this before in previous podcasts, chemotherapy. A lot of my patients, or a lot of my not my patients, oh my gosh, not patients, a lot of patients, my customers, um, after radiation, they're a little bit depleted. So drinking something warm might throw them off, and just the action of making a smoothie, you know, moving throughout the kitchen, it's just too much. So you just grab a nice CMOS water out of the refrigerator because they are supposed to stay in the refrigerator and drink that, and it's jam-packed the 92 of the 102 minerals your body needs to kind of navigate through a surgery or anything that is um that affects the body tremendously. So, yes, um, hydration becomes especially important while the body is rebuilding. Now let's talk about collagen, skin support, and how CMOS ties it all together. Another reason people often use CMOS during recovery is because it contains sulfur. Sulfur plays a role in collagen production, keratin production, skin health, and tissue maintenance. Collagen is important because it helps support skin elasticity, tissue strength, and the overall healing process. Collagen is also really great for your bones and muscles. So while you're recovering and you get back into your routine of working out and maintaining this hot new body, you need collagen. You need hydration. Now we're gonna get into gut health and recovery. Surgery can sometimes affect digestion. Usually people are super backed up, you're not eating normally, you have a lot of fluids, but not a lot of solids. So let's talk about what factors include um gut problems, medication, reduced activity, stress, and changes, like I said, in eating habits. So this is where CMOS acts as a prebiotic, and prebiotics help nourish beneficial gut bacteria. A healthy digestive system can support nutrient absorption, immune health, and overall wellness. When I talk about nutrient absorption, I've said this in other podcasts. We have a C moss that has cinnamon and turmeric in it. Um, but I always let people know add a little bit of black pepper or red pepper to it so your body can absorb the minerals that are in the turmeric. So, yes, C moss acts as a prebiotic and it helps the minerals and nutrients in the CMOS absorb into your gut. But also, I'm not a doctor, so always talk to a physician. Okay, the emotional side of healing. Recovery isn't only physical, it can also be emotional. Many people experience excitement, relief, gratitude, but on the other end, some people may experience frustration, fatigue, anxiety, or you just need to emotionally just readjust to what's going on in your life. Healing is rarely linear, it's ups and downs, it's ebbs and flows. So supporting your body through rest, hydration, nutrition, and community can make a meaningful difference. You know, uh CMOS also has serotonin. Serotonin is great for the brain. And so I just want to add that in there too. Um, now you've had your surgery and you need to know when to reintroduce CMOS. I love CMOS as a daily thing. I like to maintain, not repair. So before your surgery, you're adding minerals to your body, and then after your surgery, you're going to follow your surgeon's recommendations. Many health care providers recommend avoiding supplements immediately after surgery. So once your healthcare team says it's appropriate, start slowly. Consider small servings. A teaspoon, then you can graduate to a tablespoon. Pay attention to how your body responds. Because remember, every recovery plan is completely unique. Now I want to get into foods. We love sea moss, but we also want to know what we're supposed to be eating to kind of help us. We still have to eat something. We still need solids. So, um, the foods that may support recovery, protein-rich foods, so your salmon, eggs, lentils, beans, lean meats, protein help support tissue rebuilding, our anti-inflammatory foods to kind of bring you down, snatch your back, berries, leafy greens, turmeric, ginger, citrus fruits, gut-friendly foods, our oats, our bananas, yogurt, fermented foods, sea moss, hydration sources, water. I have a podcast coming up about water. I'm excited for you guys to hear. So water, coconut water. When I am in Jamaica, and even in the States, I do um during the summer, I always try to find someone with the big old green coconut or the brown coconuts are great to drink too. But coconut water goes straight to your heart. It's so good for you. Sometimes water, you know, just like regular tap or spring or just water doesn't quench my thirst. But I, and when that happens, I usually go right over to coconut water, or I juice watermelon, or I will juice cucumber, celery, ginger, and green apple together to really quench my thirst. So coconut water is a great source of hydration. Watermelon, juicing watermelon, great source of hydration. Celery, um, cucumbers, great source of hydration. And of course, our push sea moss water. You have your spring water plus a huge, nice, healthy amount of added minerals and nutrients in our sea moss. 100% wildcrafted sea moss. Now I've talked about foods that you should eat. Let's talk about foods that we should limit during recovery or just kind of stay away from. So you should reduce highly processed foods. Ordering takeout, not organic is not the best time. If you have a craving, I always say indulge into the craving. If it just not every day, but if it's just like, oh, I just need this hamburger with this fries from my favorite, you know, restaurant that makes a good burger, then yes, get it. I understand the cravings, but routine and habits outweigh cravings. So stay away from the highly processed foods, excess sugar, excess sodium, alcohol, and fried foods. Focus on foods that nourish and support healing. All right, we're gonna get into some final thoughts. This episode matters to me because everyone deserves compassionate support during recovery. Trans women deserve support, trans men deserve support. Anyone navigating surgery deserves access to nourishment, respect, and care. And, you know, this does hit a little harder because I am a black woman, and usually we don't see the respect in the medical field. So I think everyone deserves support and a safe place. You know, at Push CMOS, our goal is very simple. It's just to provide mineral-rich wellness products that support overall health and hydration for all communities. Healing looks different for everyone. Move at your own pace, make sure you're patient with yourself and honor your body's process, especially your new body's process. This is an exciting time for you. So, in closing, thank you for joining me on this Push C Moss podcast.
