Episode 75 of the Steelers Sanctuary Podcast is out. This is an emergency podcast to discuss the Pittsburgh Steelers announcing thier new offensive coordinator Arthur Smtih.
DMC gets the floors first. He is extremely unhappy with the hire. Dave makes the point that we were led to believe that the Steelers were going to hire a young, innovative person for the job. What we got was the exact opposite.
I’m a little less concerned. This is a play caller who can run the type of offense Mike Tomlin wants. They will be a run first, play action offense. It will be conservative, and boring but much more cohesive than what Matt Canada could do. We go over all the other pros and cons associated with hiring Smith as well.
