Scripture:
Isaiah 40:21-31
Mark 1:29-39
Unexpected Endings
Often, we think we know how things will turn out--at the game, on the job, in politics, in life. But the message of Christianity at the end of the church year is to expect the unexpected. The parable of the talents, the song of Zachariah, and the parable of the sheep and the goats are all about surprising and unexpected endings that come from the grace and love of God. And those unexpected endings can inspire us to do unexpected things. God's grace is always surprising, just ask the women going to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus on that early Sunday morning.
