A birthday crown, a Charizard Loungefly, and a brand‑new Switch 2 set the stage for a wild ride through shiny hunts, DLC megas, and the strange magic of pacing a game you love. We get honest about Pokemon Legends ZA: the fun of guaranteed shinies, the feel of the world, and why the journey beats the postgame grind. Then the bombshells: DLC teases with Mega Chimecho, Mega Basculegion‑style reveals, Lucario Z, and a level cap blasting past 100 for the first time in 30 years. It’s a shake‑up built for highlights, not homework, and we break down why that works.
Life doesn’t pause for play. We map out screen‑time rules for a toddler—TV as background, no iPad babysitting—and how handheld sessions fit into family evenings. The conversation spills into “What Grinds My Beans,” our running segment on everyday chaos: tapping gift cards like chips, slapping terminals instead of holding a card still, and the art of ordering without treating baristas like NPCs. It’s funny because it’s true, and it’s useful because five seconds of patience can save everyone five minutes of hassle.
Then we tackle the Black Friday saga: waking up at 4:30 AM for a hyped “first 100” Target bag only to discover tickets were quietly handed out hours earlier. What counts as a fair promotion, and what does a brand owe the people who show up in the cold? Sprinkle in some adulting—brake rotors, oil change myths, and the difference between a maintenance reminder and a warning light—and we land on a theme that ties it all together: plan well, play smart, and fight for transparency.
Big news: we’re launching two new shows. The Dark Side of Music with Danny Otto digs into true crime across music history—Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, Tupac, the 27 Club, and beyond. Off The Record brings loose, in‑person conversations, games, and the kind of banter that made you hit play today. If you’ve missed our chaotic energy, you’ll love where we’re headed next.

I'm the worst person to have a podcast. I do fail. What is up, everybody? Welcome back to the Hook and Bridge Podcast. I am your host, Harley, joined by my co-host and little sister, Taylor.
SPEAKER_03:Hello, hello. I actually I have something to wear for the show. Give me a second. Give me a second. Okay. Close your eyes. Open your eyes.
SPEAKER_01:Birthday girl. Woo woo.
SPEAKER_03:I was supposed to wear it at dinner and then I forgot to bring it to the dinner. As you guys are seeing this, I have been 24 for about two weeks now.
SPEAKER_01:How do you feel?
SPEAKER_03:Same as I did when I was 23.
SPEAKER_01:There you go.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. The world should see my birthday girl crown. Oh, actually, it's taking the focus off of my face. The camera won't like it.
SPEAKER_01:I gotta I gotta trim up my stash today. Look at this.
SPEAKER_03:Me too.
SPEAKER_01:Overlapping my my lips.
SPEAKER_03:Your lips. Yeah, you can't have that.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's crazy.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Um, so how was your birthday?
SPEAKER_03:It was good. We went out to dinner. I got Pokemon pajamas. They have Pikachu's. They're pretty cute.
SPEAKER_01:There you go. There you go.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. Dylan's sister and uh Jean-Luc got me a Duncan gift card. So that's pretty nice. Uh Dylan's mom bought me my birthday outfit and more pajamas. They are not Pokemon, but they're nice pajamas. Uh Dylan got me a pretty sick bag. Let me grab it so we can show the pod. Hang on, BRB. I got my first lounge fly.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, your first one?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, I've never had one. And it's this beautiful Charizard bag.
SPEAKER_01:Um I did not realize that that was your first one.
SPEAKER_03:I've never had one.
SPEAKER_01:It's crazy.
SPEAKER_03:They're so expensive. There's a couple that I've wanted. They have a Hannah Montana tote bag that I've been eyeing, and it's only like 30 bucks. It's like a canvas tote, it's really cute. Um, but I got this Charizard bag, and I didn't even show you. It has a Pokeball as a zipper. And then the inside is Charizard up. It has this lining and it has little Charizards.
SPEAKER_01:That's pretty fun.
SPEAKER_03:Isn't that so fun? Anywho, so I'm gonna use it as a Switch bag.
SPEAKER_01:There you go.
SPEAKER_03:A little switch case.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, you got a Nintendo Switch 2 for your birthday.
SPEAKER_03:I got a Nintendo Switch 2 for my birthday. Sorry, I got that so far ahead that I forgot. Um, been playing the heck out of some Pokemon.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, Pokemon Legends Za. Um, but yeah, no, that's cool that you got a Nintendo Switch 2. Whoever got you that, that's that's a pretty cool gift.
SPEAKER_03:It was a pretty cool gift. Uh, very thankful, very much love it. Might go sell it if I'm hard on cash. So I love that. Um no, it's it was a good time. I had a good time. I felt very loved.
SPEAKER_01:Let's talk ZA for a minute.
SPEAKER_03:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:How shiny Marie.
SPEAKER_03:Sorry.
SPEAKER_01:You got your your shiny Marie.
SPEAKER_03:I did. I did. I had to Google where to find it though, because I didn't know. Well, I guess I I knew that the first ladder existed, but I didn't know there was a second ladder on like the other side of that. So, but I did, I got my shiny Marie.
SPEAKER_01:Anyhow, how exciting is that the guaranteed shiny.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, it's pretty fun.
SPEAKER_01:Um but so you're you're playing ZA. Let's talk about how you how you feel about it. Um big fan. Everyone on the internet is talking about Legend ZA right now. I think everybody is playing it. I mean, even Smosh did uh a games video playing Legend ZA.
SPEAKER_03:Really? Oh, I have to watch it.
SPEAKER_01:Everyone is playing it.
SPEAKER_03:No, it's a lot of fun. I will say the girls at my work, um, a handful of them have already beat it. And they the one complaint is that like after you do it, there's just not much more to do. Do you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01:Well, so you didn't play Arceus. You should definitely play Arceus.
SPEAKER_03:Well, everyone at work was talking about Arceus, too.
SPEAKER_01:So it's the same, it's the same thing though. Like, it's not meant, like, it's not a traditional Pokemon game. It's not meant to have a lot to do afterwards. Yeah, you're supposed to play through it once and be like, all right, well, I did it, you know.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, that that was our big thing. They were like, well, you know, played through it, and now there's not much for me to do.
SPEAKER_01:Like they they, you know, but they needed to do unlike legends or yeah, unlike Arceus, Legends Arceus, um, they did a DLC for ZA. Buddy. Have you seen any of the new megas that they've released for the DLC?
SPEAKER_03:No, I I don't I don't look into that. I just like to do that.
SPEAKER_01:You want you want to?
SPEAKER_03:Sure.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, they've they've released them like Pokemon Company has put out videos of them. Um, so this is gonna be kind of kind of boring, but let's uh let's watch it. Um so tell me more about uh you haven't been on in a little bit.
SPEAKER_03:I haven't. We uh yeah, you want to hear about my week? You you guys want to hear why I haven't been on? First of all, we had my birthday dinner on Friday because that's just when everyone's schedule worked. So we had that. We went to Longhorn Steakhouse. I had a little drinky drink. I had my steak, it was overcooked, but that's neither here nor there. Anywho, um, then the following week was Thanksgiving. So we had Thanksgiving at Dylan's uh family's house, and then we had the next day was his grandpa's birthday, which again is why I wasn't able to come on because we were leaving to go to his grandpa's birthday, you know. So we did that uh Friday night, and then Saturday. What are we doing Saturday? Oh, also, can we clear the air about something?
SPEAKER_05:Sure.
SPEAKER_03:I have never felt like more of a garbage human being than what I slept through the other day. My alarm for us to do this podcast.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, sorry, uh say that again. Sorry, I was reading an important text message. What was that?
SPEAKER_03:So I have never felt more like a garbage human being. So those are Carly and I planned out like a time for me to come on. Like we we had this, anywho, we planned it out. It was a day that I had opened, okay? And I had some things to do in between like me getting off of work and then us doing the podcast. And then when I finished that, I had some time and I was like, okay, I literally actually I was in the middle of playing Pokemon. I was playing Pokemon and I was watching Bob's burgers, and I was like, okay, well, I'm just gonna relax a little before the podcast. But then my eyes got a little droopy, and I said, Okay, well, I can take a little we had it was like an hour, two hours, maybe I want to say before the podcast. So I was like, okay, well, let me set an alarm. I got time to take a little nap, right? Slept right through it. Got up, I thought I snoozed the alarm, I turned it off. I I hit one too many buttons. It got turned off. Um, woke up a half hour into when we were supposed to do the podcast, and I have been thinking about it ever since. And I have never felt more like a garbage human being than in that moment.
SPEAKER_01:It's okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry if I made you feel bad.
SPEAKER_03:No, it wasn't you. You didn't make me feel bad, but then I just instantly thought that you hated me and we were never ever gonna be able to move past it. And that's on me. Like it was definitely a me problem. I know like it was like it's not that serious, you know what I mean? Like it's fine.
SPEAKER_01:No, yeah, I still I still felt really bad though, because we that we had carved out the time, and then I it it was overall a rough weekend, so like you couldn't do it right, you couldn't do the show um because you hopped on late. Um, and then directly after I texted you and was like, hey, let's just not do it, like we'll figure it out. Chris canceled. He was like, dude, I just got called into work. Yeah, they had an emergency and he got called in. He was like, I'm uh there's no way. He was like, the show's at seven, I won't be home until probably 10. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Rough.
SPEAKER_01:So that was Friday, right? And then Saturday, we were gonna do it on Saturday, and then Lindsay decided that she wanted to go and have her nails done. And that's why I canceled Saturday because yeah, she was like, Well, there's not enough time for me to go and have my nails done and do this. So I was like, you know what? We'll just we'll figure it out. Uh plus I had the live show on Saturday too.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, and I had a I had a drinking party on Saturday, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:So um, and then Sunday was so busy, it was so busy, and then we were gonna do it yesterday. Yeah, I get home, I rush home from work to do it. I get home yesterday, walk in, Adam is out on the couch. And for those of you listening, you may not realize it, but directly beside me is the door to the living room.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:So the whole point, the whole point of putting the studio here was because Adam's room, well, because Adam's room is upstairs. So in my head, I'm like, well, when he's sleeping, he'll be upstairs.
SPEAKER_03:And he fell asleep on the couch, and you don't move asleep a baby.
SPEAKER_01:And like these walls, yeah, these walls are not well insulated. You can hear everything from this room to that room, which is why I wear headphones now, so that you can just hear my voice in the other room rather than everything going on. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah. That's rough.
SPEAKER_01:Let me show you this first video. All right.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:So this is um this is going to be Pokemon Legends ZA. The DLC Mega Dimensions comes out December 10th for you ZA players out there. Uh, Taylor, this is them introducing the the DLC number one. But check out, so this has like Pokemon that obviously you can't get until the DLC, right? So there are all of these really cool Pokemon that you can catch now. Um not gonna dive into the story much because I don't want to uh spend too much time on this video. Um but basically there's a ton of Pokemon that you can catch. Uh Pokemon can officially go past level 100, which is nuts. That's the first time ever in 30 years. Um what? Specifically in this DLC, yeah, you can go to like led like level 164, like 175. So, anyways, here's shiny or uh uh mega chimeco.
SPEAKER_04:That's sick.
SPEAKER_01:Um it looks pretty cool. And then you got mega backscalibur.
SPEAKER_04:That's sick, right?
SPEAKER_01:Okay, so so that they released those, right? Like randomly. They didn't even normally do like a presents, they just randomly put this video out. It was crazy. Wow. Um but then out of the blue, they release a video for mega umdo zera aura. And it'll be coming up here soon. Boom, look at that.
SPEAKER_03:That's awesome, dude. And that's the legendary of this game, right?
SPEAKER_01:That's one of them, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And then today, like a few hours ago, they give us Mega Lucario Z. And again, this game comes out in like 10 days, less than 10 days. Well, this this DLC.
SPEAKER_03:Have you beaten it yet?
SPEAKER_01:No, I still haven't beat it. I haven't been able to play though.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:But look at this.
SPEAKER_03:Yo, he's so cute. Obsessed.
SPEAKER_01:It's it's gonna be good. It's gonna be good.
SPEAKER_03:It's giving Super Saiyan.
SPEAKER_01:For sure. Um so, anyways, and I'll have to check out the apparently you can get Mega Mewtwo in this game. They just released that a couple of times. Awesome. So fun. Legend ZA, but so you're liking it.
SPEAKER_03:You you like I have been trying not to play it too much because I well You don't want to get burnt out. I don't want to get burnt out, and like I'm a busy gal now. Yeah, I barely get on social media. The only time I get on social media is to watch my body cam videos on TikTok. Um, so yeah, no, and I don't I don't want to get burnt out because with Scarlet, I mean I went hard. I mean, I feel like I beat well, I thought I beat, I didn't know there was a whole second story. That's a whole nother thing. But I beat the first half of Scarlet within what? Like a month?
SPEAKER_00:Right.
SPEAKER_03:Like I was just going for it, I couldn't get enough. Um, with this, I'm trying to pace myself.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:I will say I have not hooked it up to the TV yet, and I feel like once I hook it up to the TV, it's gonna be game over. Cause I I it's not gonna be hurting my neck to look either.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, um, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:So then I'm just gonna be playing it. But no, I'm a big fan.
SPEAKER_01:This is a controversial take for switch players. I exclusively play Switch on the TV.
SPEAKER_03:I don't play any and I I love playing it on the TV. We just haven't honestly, I think it I think it is hooked up. I think Dylan did hook it up because we do you want to hear it? We use our brain power. Do you want to hear our brain power?
SPEAKER_05:I'm ready.
SPEAKER_03:So obviously, my other switch is already hooked up to the TV. Well, I was going to just unhook everything, and then Dylan was like, Well, keep the HDMI cord in there because it's the same HDMI cord and just plug it into the new console. So I do, I do think it is hooked up. I think he got everything hooked up. I have it.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's it's the same HDMI cable, different dock. You can't use the same dock.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, um, no, but everything's and fun fact, you can't use the same power supply cable either. You have to put a the other power, yeah. It doesn't use the same power cable.
SPEAKER_03:That's weird.
SPEAKER_01:It's annoying, it's very annoying.
SPEAKER_03:Um, well, I packed all of mine up because I'm sending it to Shiloh. We got her all set up um with Fortnite and everything on, so it's like on there. Dylan got it, got everything set up. Um, so she'll be able to play. So obviously, like I gave her the power cable, like everything she's good to go.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:Um, there you go. So, yeah, we have the same power cable or the same like everything for the switch too. It's just the the HDMI board. I was like, Yeah, you're so right. I probably shouldn't unhook that. Because how silly would that have been?
SPEAKER_01:Um, but this ZA I have been playing in handheld because with Adam getting a little older, um, he likes watching like Sesame Street and stuff now. So we try and give him a little TV time, you know?
SPEAKER_02:A little.
SPEAKER_01:Well, only in the evenings, only in the evenings, which sucks because that's when I'm home. So while he's watching is his Sesame Street.
SPEAKER_03:Don't leave it on as like background noise.
SPEAKER_01:No, we do, but specifically Oh, it's exclusively for him.
SPEAKER_03:Got it. Okay. Yeah, like I was gonna say that's crazy.
SPEAKER_01:Well, because he doesn't pay attention to like smosh and stuff. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03:Like, he doesn't I mean that's what I'm saying. Like, it's literally just background noise.
SPEAKER_01:Like, yeah. No, the only thing that the only thing that he does, he he gets to watch Sesame Street or Bear Bear in the Big Blue House or whatever show he wants to watch, like we'll turn that on. Other than that, the only TV experience that he has is when we're putting him to sleep, we use those songs because he likes the super simple songs. Um, but outside of that, he doesn't he doesn't get TV anymore.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. I mean, he really didn't get it before, even when it was on, he wasn't unless it was the songs. That baby loves some super simple songs.
SPEAKER_01:He loves super simple songs.
SPEAKER_03:Um, but even with like like when I I mean, granted, he was a baby baby. So like when Lindsay and I would have to eat or something and like plop him, you know, in his chair and let him watch something, even with that, he didn't really care. Like, even Mickey Mouse, he would get maybe halfway through an episode and be like, I'm over it.
SPEAKER_01:Right. Yeah, yeah, he doesn't he doesn't watch the whole thing.
SPEAKER_03:No, and that's fine. I mean, he's a baby, it makes sense. Like, he probably shouldn't show up in front of the screen, anyways. Yeah, but I think it's background noise. Like, I'm fully against giving your babies phones and iPads.
SPEAKER_01:Same.
SPEAKER_03:Argue with me in the comments, but I have no there is no argument. Personally, I've met an iPad baby, not a fan of them. But TV is different. If it is up on a wall in a family room and it's just like on, because he's still a part of the world. Do you know what I mean? Like it could be on and it can still be part of the world. And a phone are like this.
SPEAKER_01:Um so before we before we get too far out of the video game talk, though. Uh that that video game segment was brought to you by Dubby, dubby energy drink.
SPEAKER_02:Whoa, dub dub.
SPEAKER_01:Check out W Energy Drink. So this is a G4 G Fuel. G Fuel? Is that the yeah, G Fuel? Um, this is their competitor, W. And they use a natural caffeine instead of the artificial caffeine. It comes from coffee. Yep, it's a coffee extract caffeine, so you don't get the jitters when you drink it.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, it'll make your heart go pitter pattern. That's my problem with energy drinks. I have to have the natural energy drinks, or my heart goes pitter patter.
SPEAKER_01:They sent us a container of the sweet and sour. I brought it to work and had all of my gamer friends at work try some. They're obsessed. They now come in every day to get dubby. They come in, they bring their water bottle, they put a little bit in there, they shake it up, and that's their start to their day. They love W. So if you're listening, go ahead and buy yourself a container. If you're if you're an energy drink drinker, yeah, buy W. And they have these sweet shaker bottles. I love the shaker bottle. Love the color scheme. Um, so go check out W and use code hook and bridge for a percentage off your order. Uh last time I checked, it was 30%, but it does vary from time to time. So at the at the checkout.
SPEAKER_03:Babies for a sponsor.
SPEAKER_01:I know, right? Isn't that crazy?
SPEAKER_03:So exciting.
SPEAKER_01:So, anyways, you want to see you wanna see the fall festival that I took uh Adam and Lindsay to?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. Do you want to see what's going to be arriving on Thursday to your house? Do you want to see your Christmas present? If it's already arriving and you're already gonna open it, can I just show you?
SPEAKER_01:Sure. Oh, isn't it still an eye on the machine?
SPEAKER_03:Maybe. Did you already look?
SPEAKER_01:No, I was talking to mom about how she got me Pro Tools, and I was like, you know, I I really appreciate it. Um, but you didn't have to do that, it was very expensive. And uh she was like, Well, I was either gonna get that or the coffee machine that you wanted. And I was like, I didn't put a coffee machine on my Amazon list, and she was like, No, you absolutely did. There's a coffee pot.
SPEAKER_03:It's an espresso machine, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, she said, There's there's a coffee pot on there, and I said, Mom, I can assure you I don't drink my coffee from a pot. So that I know is a phallus. So I was like, maybe you're thinking of the espresso maker, and she was like, No, it's coffee. And she said, You need to talk to your sister before she before she sends it to your house. And I was like, I'm gonna let Taylor send anything she wants to my house.
SPEAKER_03:And before, Vicky, I know. Well, are you listening? Well, I'm gonna make sure you listen to this episode. It's crazy. You're telling him what I got him for Christmas. Secondly, yes, I did. I did go ahead and get you your espresso machine, it'll be there on Thursday.
SPEAKER_01:That's awesome, buddy. I'm super excited. I'm excited because I do drink espresso, which is not the same thing.
SPEAKER_03:Um, do you want me to teach you how to make make espresso the right way?
SPEAKER_01:Yes, I do when it comes in. When it comes in.
SPEAKER_03:Okay. Well, I don't know how to do it because we like grind our beans and everything, so I don't really know.
SPEAKER_01:You know what really grinds my beans?
SPEAKER_03:You know what really grinds my beans?
SPEAKER_01:That should be our other segment. We should start doing what grinds my beans.
SPEAKER_03:Okay. No, I love that. Yeah. For my job at the undisclosed barista place. Do you want to hear what I dealt with today?
SPEAKER_01:Hold on, hold on. Watch, watch this.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, that was very loud. Sorry.
SPEAKER_03:It's okay. I'm ready.
SPEAKER_01:So this was a fall festival in Yorktown.
SPEAKER_03:That's fun.
SPEAKER_01:Look at this old man banjoin it up, dude.
SPEAKER_03:Uh, I bet he loves his life.
SPEAKER_01:So there's that.
SPEAKER_03:And then that's so fun.
SPEAKER_01:Um, I want to show you this other one. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03:Do you want to know what I put on my Amazon list? A bunch of switch.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, Adam petting the cow.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, he's my lady. Oh my gosh. He is so cute. Are you kidding me? This was this was like this was your birthday.
SPEAKER_01:We took him on your birthday.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, happy birthday to me.
SPEAKER_01:Uh Buddy, he was petting the cow. He was obsessed with the goats. Completely obsessed with the goats. You want to watch it again?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:If you don't mind.
SPEAKER_03:Um, your baby was the talk of the place on Friday at dinner, by the way.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. I forget how we got on this topic, but your uh Dylan's dad and I, where I was just like showing, I was showing off baby pictures. Sometimes I show him off as if he's my baby. I think it's really funny that I do that, but he's so cute. So I'm like, everyone, look at my nephew. Like, why would you not? Anywho, um, so I'm looking at pictures and I'm showing Dylan's dad because he has really bad baby fever. He's he's itching for grandkids, he's itching for it. Anywho, so I'm showing him these pictures, and he starts laughing so hard. It was a newer picture I had of Adam. I said, Why are you laughing? He goes, Why has that baby got a comb over?
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah, yeah. You told me that well, for everyone listening.
SPEAKER_03:He's not wrong now. Every time I look at Adam, I'm like, kinda. He could do my taxes. Oh no, I love it. That baby is so cute. Are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_01:Anyhow, he's pretty he's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_03:He's pretty cool. I was also telling one of the girls I work with, because she's obsessed with dogs. I was telling him about Adam, or I was telling her about Adam's biting face and how you put your finger in his mouth and go, I want to wear my face.
SPEAKER_01:Dude loves to bite.
SPEAKER_03:He loves to bite. Um, anyways, do you want to hear what I dealt with today?
SPEAKER_01:Let's hear it. Can we just talk about it?
SPEAKER_03:What grinds my beans? So listen. I'm working the drive-thru, and I already knew. I already knew. Um this woman goes to pay for her coffee. And I said, you can either, I was like, it's gonna ask you a question and then you can tap or insert, right? Most debit cards, you tap or you insert.
SPEAKER_01:Right.
SPEAKER_03:And if you don't, then you know that your card does not tap or insert. I'm so sorry. If you have a debit card and it's a swipe debit card, you know it's a swipe debit card. Stop acting like you don't. You're grumpy.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_03:Anywho, shoves it in the in the tap part. All you hear is well, that wasn't right. So she does it again. Does it again meh meh. I said, okay, so let's try tapping. Tapping, slapping the thing. Not working. It's not it's not working. The tap isn't working. Like the card's not working. So then I see, I I glance over, I see the bow on the card.
SPEAKER_00:I said it's a gift card.
SPEAKER_03:Let me see that. Gift cards have been around for 50 years. She shows me that's a gift card. Is it? Is it a gift card?
SPEAKER_05:Are you trying to insert a gift card?
SPEAKER_03:You're trying to insert a gift card? Yeah, so it's just it's not working. Should I try to insert it again? Your Visa gift card? You want to insert your Visa gift card again after the machine went meh meh meh the first three times? You want to insert it again?
SPEAKER_01:If it wasn't Jackal the first three times, why would it be Jackal now?
SPEAKER_03:I I and it's like those times, buddy. I swear to you, I don't know if it's just this area or like what the deal is. It's like it's everyone's first day on earth. Every time they get there to order their cars. It's like the first time that they've ever been alive.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, Florida.
SPEAKER_03:I said, yeah, so if if it's a gift card, you're gonna have to swipe the top of it. It's a Visa gift card. Have you been trying to tap an insert at all stores? You know, and I can't even be like, oh, she was 80. This girl was like maybe 25.
SPEAKER_01:Here, you want to know what grinds my beans?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:When you describe people and their tap habits, I have never once, never one single time taken a card and slapped it off of anything, expecting it to work.
SPEAKER_03:They don't hold it, they just slap it.
SPEAKER_01:Not only I'm I'm like the retard, whoa. Sorry.
SPEAKER_04:Can't say that.
SPEAKER_01:Cut that, exit that.
SPEAKER_04:Cut that out.
SPEAKER_01:Oops. Um, I'm the moron that will sit there and hold my card in the wrong place.
SPEAKER_03:So, and we get those two, and that's fine. That I'm okay with that because then you won't be like it around, yeah. Yeah, like like find the sweet spot. That's fine. That doesn't bother me. Why are you slapping the card? Who does that?
SPEAKER_01:Who does that?
SPEAKER_03:All the old people.
SPEAKER_01:Who is who is that impatient that you have to be like slap, slap, slap, slap, slap?
SPEAKER_03:Everybody, or my my favorite instantaneous when I hold it out and I say, Oh, it's gonna ask you a question, and then you can tap or insert, and then they slap it and say, and this has happened multiple times. It's not working, yeah. So it's gonna answer a question, it's gonna ask you a question, and then give me extra money. Truly, after the experience, you owe me at least five dollars. Um, yeah, so the top's just not working. Yeah, so it's actually currently asking you a question, and once you answer that question, you can go ahead and tap your card for me, and I assure you it'll go through. But you have to answer it first. Just answer it. Anywho, yeah, so then she swiped her gift card and she did it three different ways and did it the wrong way each time. Finally, I said, Can you just give me the card?
SPEAKER_01:Can you imagine these people, these these slap tappers that before the before the tapping was a thing? Because like, remember back in the day when like you had to swipe a card? Like, yeah, they're so impatient that they can't just tap the thing.
SPEAKER_03:You can't just tap and hang out. Like, why are we slightly?
SPEAKER_01:It took so much longer to swipe a card back in the day, though.
SPEAKER_03:And people are so rude too. They're so rude, like they'll be on their phone in the drive-thru, and uh but like not, I don't care that you're on your phone. That doesn't bother me. If you want to have a conversation, you do you. That's fine. But if you just hold out your card like I'm your servant, also if you're if you're parked six feet, nobody can pull up to the window. If you part six feet now, COVID. That's fair. I guess if you're worried about me coughing on your coffee table, give me your six feet. Give me literally, I they're awful. They're so rude. They just hold it out like I'm their servant and don't even make eye contact with me.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I would, I would wreck somebody.
SPEAKER_03:I'm not gonna lie, like, I think when I'm ready to find a new job, I'm just gonna I will give everyone the same energy. Well, and like depending on who it is, like depending on how nasty you are, I'm going to. I'm so sorry. I don't get paid enough. They can fire me tomorrow. I do not get paid enough to get treated like that. Um, but yeah, they will fully the and this guy came through the drive-thru today. Sorry, this is a whole segment about me ranting. We haven't talked in forever. Guy came through the drive-thru today. I was on drive bar. Do you know what that is?
SPEAKER_01:Uh yeah, you described it to me.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, yeah. So we have the two bars. So I'm on drive bar. I got put on there. I usually I don't go for a drive bar because I'm not that quick, and that's okay. I'm fairly still like new and learning. I have my little headset on, I'm making the drinks. This guy goes, pulls up to the pulls up to the speaker box. Yeah, like I just don't know what we're gonna do for Christmas. Like, I don't know if you guys want to come down here or like if we're gonna go up there. I don't really want to go up there though, so like I don't know, we'll just have to figure it out. Hi, yeah. So welcome to Starbucks. Uh, what can we get started for you? Man, I don't know. Like, I guess it it depends on what mom wants. Like, if she was to come up here the week and she fully has a whole conversation, yeah. Welcome to Starbucks. What can we get started for you? And it was our manager, and she was like, Can I help you find anything? And she doesn't get like angry, buddy. This guy was at the box for like three minutes and like would his conversation was more important. And I'm like, actually, if you would just take 30 seconds to order, that's all you have to do. Take the 30 seconds to order. Anywho, so then he goes, he he's you know, orders what he wants, starts talking again, and she goes, Will that be all? Man, I don't know. I don't know if there's enough room in our house to house everybody, actually. So we might just, you know, have to, I don't know, maybe get an Airbnb or something. Like, we'll just have to figure it out. Yeah, so is that everything for you? Uh actually, can I get a permanent mocha? I'm sorry, can you what? So then she goes, she goes, Do you want a peppermint mocha? I don't know, man. I feel like we really should talk to mom about this. We should really figure it out with mom. We should really Okay, do you want a peppermint mocha? Is that what you mean? Yeah, I need two of those.
SPEAKER_01:Dude, we should open up a tanning salon with a selection that says permanent mocha.
SPEAKER_03:Permanent mocha. I was like, permanent mocha? What's that? Oh or we have a guy that comes through and he gets a cortada every yeah. He goes, Can I get a cortada? I'm like, you mean a cortado?
SPEAKER_01:Cortado. Uh so Thanksgiving happened.
SPEAKER_03:Thanksgiving did happen.
SPEAKER_01:Uh we went to the White's house for Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_04:It was fun.
SPEAKER_01:Yep, we had a good time out there, and then there was no shopping on Thanksgiving. They they didn't do Black Friday on Thanksgiving this year. It was actual Black Friday. No, well, there were deals on Black Friday, but there have been Black Friday deals since November 1st.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, it doesn't change.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, so, anyways, I'm like, I'm going. So I wake up at 4 30 in the morning to go to Target because Target was doing this giveaway.
SPEAKER_03:Did you get a bag?
SPEAKER_01:No. Let me tell you, let me tell you, thank goodness.
SPEAKER_03:Why have you have you not seen that? It was a it was the biggest scam. Have you not seen the bags?
SPEAKER_01:No, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:So it was supposed to be like a hundred dollar value or whatever, right? Like uh yeah, so people got one of the little travel size pack of electrolytes that are literally like six dollars, a pack of Uno cards, and then like chapstick or a lotion. Yeah, no, it's a huge thing.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, dude, I would have rioted if that's well.
SPEAKER_03:Everyone is, everyone is, everyone's like, we were told this, and Target's like, and you showed up at 4 30, and you're gonna come back and shop with us.
SPEAKER_01:Oh no, it's worse. It's worse, Taylor. So I wake up at 4 30 in the morning. They don't open until 6. I wake up at 4 30 in the morning. I get up, I get dressed, I drive over to Target, I'm sitting in front of Target. There are already 60, 70 people in line. Yeah, it's like five o'clock at this point. So I'm like, all right, I'll sit here for a little bit. It's mind you, it's 30 degrees outside. Yeah, it's the coldest day in Virginia so far. So I'm like, I'm gonna sit in the heat for a little bit. It's not too crowded out there yet. You know, I'll still get my hunt, my it was the first hundred people, so I'm like, I'm still we're good. So I wait, it's like 5.15. I go out there, I'm standing in line. 5.30 rolls around. Mind you, they open at 6. 5.30 rolls around. Guy comes out, starts walking down the line, informing everyone that if we are there for the bags, that they have already given out the tickets to the first hundred people that came. Oh, dude, dude, this pisses, dude. This is this is crazy what I'm about to tell you. And Target, I don't know if Target knows if this was the policy at all of the targets, somebody should step in and do something. This is outrageous what they did. Yeah, they gave apparently the guy says, Yeah, you know, if you're here for the the bag, we've already given away the tickets. We gave them to the first hundred people. They were here at three in the morning. We gave the tickets. Hold on. We gave them the tickets. They have until an hour after we open to come and claim their bag. So they got their ticket and then left. And then left all of us outside in the cold without telling anybody.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, honestly, I would be sending an email to someone.
SPEAKER_01:Dude.
SPEAKER_03:No, there's no.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I was fucking furious.
SPEAKER_03:It sounds like either A, they actually didn't want to do the bags and they were just lying. Or B, they didn't want to deal with the people standing out there. I'm so sorry. Then you stand out there until six when they open.
SPEAKER_01:But also, also, you don't open until six, right? You mean to tell me that you showed up at three o'clock in the morning just to hand out these tickets? Like something when I hadn't up. I think that they gave those tickets to their friends and family.
SPEAKER_02:Probably.
SPEAKER_01:I think they gave away a hundred tickets as a crew to people that they knew.
SPEAKER_02:Probably.
SPEAKER_01:So then they tell us that they have an hour after they open to claim their bags, and then if they don't, it's first come, first serve at the counter at the where they have the bags. No. So first off, the this line now, I'm like 75th in line. There are probably 200 people in line total. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Half of them leave in I watch the the aura of disgust roll over a crowd of 200 people.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And they storm off in like the worst. I mean, that had to ruin some people's days.
SPEAKER_03:Well, yeah, because they were up so early.
SPEAKER_01:Well, yeah, because think about it. I got there at five. Like, there was already 60, 70 people standing there at five, which means that they just had to have missed the hundred people that were there.
SPEAKER_02:Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01:Dude. So then the people that did stay, immediately when they got inside, didn't even go shopping, went right to the bag section and just stood there and like started timing. Like at that hour, they're like, Where's my fucking bag?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, dude. It was it was bad. It was someone's gonna be in trouble. And I didn't even need anything. I saw that they were doing the bag and was like, I'll go get a well the bag.
SPEAKER_03:The bags were a scam. You should look up on YouTube Shorts.
SPEAKER_01:That's crazy.
SPEAKER_03:They were a scam. Yeah, no, it's the wild. We had um a lot of people. Honestly, our Black Friday wasn't as busy as um our our Veterans Day at my place of employment, crazy busy. Bonkers how many people were there.
SPEAKER_01:Oh yeah, I I assure you, I definitely went to a Starbucks after Target.
SPEAKER_03:Well, no, but like we weren't like our our Starbees is busy anyways, but like we weren't crazy busy. I will say, did I tell you about me being on Cold Bar? Did we have this conversation?
SPEAKER_00:We did.
SPEAKER_03:Huh?
SPEAKER_00:We did.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, you're frozen. Okay. Yeah, no, that was wild. Um anyways, no, we weren't it wasn't too bad. We weren't too busy, and I really only worked like five hours. But I did come in an opening and we didn't get super busy until like I don't know, like an hour or so before I was about to leave. Like people are chilling. It was wild. Because I figured we were gonna have a ton of people, you You know what I mean? Like it's black rabbit jumping. Um, I have a great sure. Sorry, my mind's going everywhere. So I bought Dylan brand new gaming headphones for Christmas. That was like his big gift. Okay.
SPEAKER_01:Turtle beach Turtle Beach. You got him Turtle Beach's?
SPEAKER_03:No, I got him Astro.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I only know Turtle Beach.
SPEAKER_03:Oh no, I don't know. There are ones that he like pointed out months ago at Best Buy. So I like took a picture of them. They're like$400 headphones. So they're they're really nice headphones. They were on sale for Black Friday. I was gonna get them through Amazon. I was looking at Amazon, I was looking at Best Buy, trying to get the best deal on these, right? Well, Amazon everywhere was kind of the same price. And I was like, well, if I'm ordering everything else, I might as well order his headphones too through Amazon. So I have them in there and I said, Hey, you know what? I'm actually gonna wait until Cyber Monday because it's Amazon. They invented Cyber Monday. Like Cyber Monday is a thing because of Amazon. So surely their deals are going to be better on Cyber Monday because it's Cyber Monday. You're Amazon.
SPEAKER_01:Dude, the whole world is messed up on prices right now.
SPEAKER_03:Like, what's happening?
SPEAKER_01:There were no deals.
SPEAKER_03:No, Monday rolls around, it's the same price. Cyber Monday. I'm like, surely, because it was like 20% off. I'm like, surely I'll get a 30 or 40%. I'm not looking for anything crazy, but like 30, 40%. It's the same exact deal. Same deal as their back Black Friday. You didn't even change the deal.
SPEAKER_01:Exactly.
SPEAKER_03:You just left it at your Amazon. There should have at least been a 40% off your Amazon for Cyber Monday. Don't make me mad. Don't do that. Anyways, so I obviously I still got the headphones, but like I will say your Nespresso was in fact on sale.
SPEAKER_01:Oh she was also I gotta plan out uh I gotta plan out a place to put it.
SPEAKER_03:I was very excited when I saw it. I also am sending you something else too.
SPEAKER_01:Oh well thanks, buddy.
SPEAKER_03:This in the box, you're welcome.
SPEAKER_01:Um I'm sure that I will. I'm sure that I'll love it.
SPEAKER_03:I'm sure, I'm sure you're gonna love it too.
SPEAKER_01:But anyways, am I crazy for how I do my list? I told this to mom, and she's like, this doesn't make any sense. Like, why not just so what I do is I go on Amazon and I just start scrolling. Whatever pops up. I'm like, okay, I'll click on this section, I'll click on this section. If I even remotely, in the slightest, have any interest, like if I have officially clicked on the item, it's going in the list.
SPEAKER_03:That's fair.
SPEAKER_01:That way I have this gigantic list that I forget about. Yeah, they don't like that. People buy me stuff. I for like the Pro Tools. When that showed up to my house, I was like, who the fuck sent me Pro Tools? Like, that's expensive. I was like, where did this come from? And like I completely forgot that I put it on there. I put that on there years ago. Literal years.
SPEAKER_03:No, I don't think it's crazy. However, I will say, like, with the Pro Tools thing, I think you should go through and clean it out, right? Like, I recently went through and clean it out.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's yeah, I did. I did do that um before I sent it to you because I had a bunch of like backyard barbecue stuff on there that I was like, well, I don't need that now because I've bought everything.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, so I I did that. Well, actually, I didn't even have one for myself. So like Dylan's family has been like, Well, what do you want for Christmas? And Jean-Luc sent us an Amazon list. So I got him a couple things off his Amazon list for Christmas, and I said, Well, let me, you know, make mine. The problem is I don't need or want for nothing.
SPEAKER_01:Right. But that's the glory, but that's the glory of having it throughout the year, is you can just be like, Oh my god. I can just add well, it's cool.
SPEAKER_03:I will say, I will say, I don't know if it's because I have a lot of things. This is not a secret. I love knickknacks, I have a lot of stuff. That's okay, you know, it is what it is. Um, literally, but like with living with Dylan, and like obviously we just have one room. Like, it's different once we get an apartment and everything, but because we just have one room, literally trying to find things on Amazon, I was like, I don't even want anything, right? Like, because I we don't have the room for it. But I ended up finding like I got I put things on there for my switch, and and there was a new like Bible that was on there that I kind of wanted. So I was like, Well, I'll just put all these, you know what I mean, like little things on there, I guess. But literally don't want or need for nothing. And for those of you listening, for the first time in my life, I'm making actual big girl money. Granted, it's not like crazy, I know that, but I, you know, triple digits or quadruple digits hits my bank account every two weeks, and that has never happened in my life, ever. So now I'm like, well, if I want it, I'm just gonna get it. Like before I wasn't able to do that because I didn't have the funds, but now I'm like, or I'm just gonna get it. Uh anywho, so that too, like that also is like an issue.
SPEAKER_01:Doesn't your car not work?
SPEAKER_03:Don't talk to me. It works, the brakes just go.
SPEAKER_01:Isn't your speaker bad? If anyone wants to if I want it, I'm gonna go get it.
SPEAKER_03:Listen, I'm buying, I'm getting a Bluetooth speaker to hook up to my car, so then I can just listen to my music. My car's not big, I just need a little Bluetooth speaker. I just go get it. Literally, Dylan was driving my car today. I took his car to work and he went to go get lettuce today. And he was driving my car, and he goes, Yeah, when you go to break, you should probably like slow down a lot. For like if you're coming up to a red light, just take your foot off the gas and see like, well, my brakes work, but they're rubbing on my road. No, it's get it's getting fixed Saturday. They don't have the part. Have we talked about this? So they went to go fix my brake pads and everything, but they put like caliper in or out, something so Dylan's dad's friend has the has the tool to do it. So he ended up being out of town last week or something. Like, he never texted Dylan's dad back. So this week, Dylan's dad was like, Well, either he'll be there or I will just see if we can pick up the tool. Like, his dad can do it, he just doesn't have the tool to do it. With this being said, Dylan is going tomorrow to get me rotors because my rotor is no longer good. But I've I've needed brake pads and I've been driving for two weeks. I can't just not drive. I have places to go, people to see. Uh, but my brakes do work like they're not gonna give out. You know what I mean? Like the by brakes no, they will.
SPEAKER_01:No, they absolutely will. Okay, but I mean, all a working together piece. Yes, I know the rotors, the calipers. It's like they all have to work correctly.
SPEAKER_03:I don't stop abruptly, anyways. Do you know like even with what he was saying? I was like, yeah, I do what you're saying, I do that anyways. You know what I mean? Like, who's who isn't slowing down before a red light?
SPEAKER_01:Do you listen, Lindsay? Do you listen? I think that's true. Do you listen to she also takes turns and makes me go like this?
SPEAKER_03:All the time. I just I I would hold Adam's car seat to hope it stayed in place.
SPEAKER_01:Literally, literally. Uh, do you listen to a podcast called the You Should Know podcast?
SPEAKER_03:No.
SPEAKER_01:You should. Uh, everybody listening should listen to that podcast. I really enjoy it. Um, I've I've been into it. No. No, but I've been really into it recently. It's very funny. It is very funny. I think you would actually really like it.
SPEAKER_03:It's very do you want to know something that I should know that I didn't know? Actually, Dylan said that I shouldn't tell people this. And now I'm gonna tell the world. Are you guys ready?
SPEAKER_05:Tell them.
SPEAKER_03:Dylan was talking about my oil needing changed. Like, you know what I mean? Because obviously we we took it did my oil has for those listening, it has been changed. It was changed before right before we left for our trip. Like it got changed. However, you're supposed to change it every 5,000 miles from Ohio to where we are in Florida, it's like 1500 miles, right? So we're already almost halfway there. So Dylan was like, Yeah, like your oil's probably gonna need change, going on and on. And he was like, Like, we'll have to get the stuff, and and I know how to do it, I'll do it. That's fine. I said, Oh, well, the light hasn't come on, and he said, What? I said, Yeah, the light to tell me to change my oil, it hasn't come on, so I'm guessing it's fine. And he was like, If your oil light comes on, we have a different problem.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's not that's not the light that tells you to change your oil. No, you just are supposed to well, I mean, my car has like uh, hey, it's time for an oil change. Well, so that's what I thought.
SPEAKER_03:Like, I I think it pops up with the little oil thing and it's like oil life low or something. Uh no, no.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, oh, you mean on you mean on the screen?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, on this, like it pops up on the screen, like not a light, but like it pops up.
SPEAKER_01:But there is an oil light that will be yellow if you have an oil problem.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, that's what he said. He was like, That's not, he said, if you're oiling a puck, we have a whole different yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:That's a different, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I felt really silly when I said it. I said, Well, aren't I in Baylist?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, dude. Um, no, I don't think that's embarrassing. I don't, I don't, I think that that is something that not like a ton of people. Yeah, like I just didn't think about you know what I mean, yeah. Um, but no, you just have to like older cars, they don't have the screen that'll tell you, so you just have to like keep track. Like that's why the sticker's there. You're supposed to be like, when did I change my oil last? Oh, here's the thing. Oh, go ahead. You do know that the mileage on the sticker is your current mileage the day of changing. That is not the mileage that you're supposed to get it changed next.
SPEAKER_03:That I think I did know.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, because I know a lot of people surprised a lot of people that would look at that and be like, oh, I still have time, and then they look and they're like, Oh no, I'm over. But it's not because like they'll look at it and think, Well, that's when I was supposed to have it changed and I'm over. But the answer is no, that's when you did have it changed.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. And honestly, that's silly. They should they should do it the other way, anyways.
SPEAKER_01:It's I agree. It's five thousand miles, is when you should have your oil changed. They'll tell you three five or three thousand.
SPEAKER_03:No, it's like five thousand. But buy my car, it might it might be three thousand.
SPEAKER_01:I can tell you right now, as somebody who drives carelessly, carelessly is ten thousand.
SPEAKER_03:Sometimes this is the man who had bald tires and didn't get them changed until they were flat.
SPEAKER_01:Dude, that's still the craziest thing. Did I I showed you the tire, right?
SPEAKER_03:I took a picture because I was gonna send it to my dad.
SPEAKER_01:All the way around the back.
SPEAKER_03:Wild, wild to me. And like you just it's like, do you just not care about your life?
SPEAKER_01:I do, but like, tires are expensive.
SPEAKER_03:Ain't that true? No, it's so funny because my car, everyone keeps they're like, just get a new car. And I'm like, I just got this car, guys. I just got this car. That's not even fair. And I will say, for those of you listening, I have had a plethora of issues since coming to Florida with it, but all of it really is like when you think about it, the brakes and the rotors, that's like maintenance anyway. Yeah, like those are supposed to be changed, and like when my wheelberry went out, yeah, the car's 11 years old. It's gonna need a new wheelberry. Like, that's just how it is.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's like when you buy a new house and you're like, well, we have to change the we have to replace the roof or we have to replace the HRAM system. It's just like it's they eventually go bad.
SPEAKER_03:Like, and I'm like, you know, I don't the car itself, it's got good bones. Leave it be. It's fine. The speaker might not work, but that's neither here nor there. My radio doesn't turn on, but my phone will still go to it. Don't worry about it.
SPEAKER_01:I can I make this big girl bucks. I can give you a couple of things.
SPEAKER_03:I make big girl bucks. Do you guys do you guys want to hear what my driving score is? So I got my own car insurance. Um, and I have Geico and it calculates my driving score. I'm sitting on a 97 out of 100.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, look at you.
SPEAKER_03:I do have to go fix it because I've been a passenger in my car a lot, and I've been on my phone, and it'll count that against me, but not if I'm a passenger. And I have a good moral compass, so I physically cannot lie about that or I will throw up.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, well.
SPEAKER_03:If you didn't know.
SPEAKER_01:There you go.
SPEAKER_03:I'm a truther. I'm a truther, I'm not a liar. It stresses me out to lie.
SPEAKER_01:It really does.
SPEAKER_03:Um, anyways, I'm trying to think if there's any other I feel like we've we've just been yapping for for almost. I know. Are you stuck on that hour? Is that is that a firm hour? I feel like I have other things that I want to talk about.
SPEAKER_01:That's fine. I I have to uh I have to do a couple of things and then I can come back in and we can keep going um after that hour. I have an electrician here right now working.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, bye.
SPEAKER_01:Oh no, no, you're fine.
SPEAKER_03:What do you do tomorrow? Do you want to record another one?
SPEAKER_01:Sure.
SPEAKER_03:Because I have other things that I want to say. Uh, you guys haven't heard me rant in a while.
SPEAKER_01:We can keep going. I so in the last few minutes here at the show, um, I do want to tell the audience we do have two new podcasts that we are kicking off. Uh, we have the Dark Side of Music podcast with Danny Otto from the band Just Happy to Be Here, where we are going to talk about true crimes within the music industry. Um we're starting out the gate with some big ones. We're gonna be talking about uh Kirk Cobain and Courtney Love. We're gonna be talking about Tupac, uh, we're gonna be talking about the 27 Club stuff, we're gonna be diving deep into all of the true crime throughout music history. And then for those of you that just like hearing people like me and Taylor yap, um, we're going to do a show called Off the Record with me and Chris, and then sometimes Taylor, where we just talk. It's just gonna be um we're gonna have we're gonna have discussion topics, but it's not going to be music focused. Uh like this episode hasn't been.
SPEAKER_03:Um, sorry guys, I've you haven't seen me in forever. There's this has been the most everywhere podcast we've done in a while. I feel oh sorry, keep going. I have a problem.
SPEAKER_01:So uh so Chris and I are gonna be sitting and uh he's gonna come in person. We're gonna do these in person so that we can like actually have good discussions and maybe play some games and stuff. Um I would like to start doing more for the HB gaming tailor now that we both have switch twos.
SPEAKER_03:I don't know how to stream.
SPEAKER_01:We can get on and record our switch twos. Okay, and and it has the voice chat option.
SPEAKER_03:Fun. I I see I have a webcam. I have to get the webcams, I have to get the little speaker, it's gonna be on my Amazon list, guys.
SPEAKER_01:Uh so we'll be doing some of that, but Chris and I are gonna be doing some gaming stuff too, and uh, I think we should do one where I play Pokemon.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:And and you watch and we talk.
SPEAKER_05:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:And and you like help me play Pokemon.
SPEAKER_03:Those are my favorite things.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I think that would be fun for the H and B gaming. So so look out for that stuff.
SPEAKER_03:Um, I'm gonna be starting a TikTok.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, Taylor, you can start Tiki Talk.
SPEAKER_03:I keep saying it, but then I get stressed out about it. So we'll see. Um right now they only go to Miss Kenna, she's my only target audience. I literally will I've I've started filming, editing, and just sending her TikToks directly to her to watch.
SPEAKER_01:But like they're not posted on Cap Cut?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, and then I and then I send them to her. Nice because I'm stressed about it.
SPEAKER_01:Have you been have you been seeing our YouTube shorts pop up a lot?
SPEAKER_03:I have not been on YouTube. Oh I I quite literally, what I tell you, I maybe for like 30 minutes am on TikTok a day. Like, I haven't been on social media, right? It's been crazy, not by choice. Well, kind of by choice. I was real anxious there for a minute, so I had to like I had to cut it down. Um, no, I'm trying to start reading again and like not have my phone in my face. Also, I've been taking like screen time elsewhere, which is playing Pokemon.
SPEAKER_01:Um so we are currently up to 476 followers on Instagram. So if you can please go over and follow that. I'd love to see 500 before the end of the year.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Um, and we are at 199 subscribers on YouTube. So if you can go over there and subscribe, we would love to see 200 this year, and I think that's more than doable at this point.
SPEAKER_02:For real.
SPEAKER_01:Uh so please go over there and subscribe. And um, yeah, this has been super fun, buddy. If you hang out, uh let's let's end this one and do we could just do another one right here, right now.
SPEAKER_03:Um, I will well, don't you have an electrician? I just remembered I have to I have to cook dinner.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. Are you free tomorrow? What are you doing tomorrow?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I have nothing going on. I mean I have to work, but I also have to work.
SPEAKER_03:I don't think I have anything going on, but let me get back to you about that. I'm pretty sure I'm free tomorrow. Tomorrow's Wednesday, right?
SPEAKER_01:Yes.
SPEAKER_03:I think I'm I'm free when you get home from work because you're a loser. You have to work until five o'clock. I get off at 1 15, baby.
