In the fall of 2017, Brigida Uto, a wife and mother, fell ill with no apparent cause for her illness. Though she sought medical help for months, doctors were not able to figure out what was wrong with her and what was causing her debilitating symptoms. After losing all hope, Dr. LaPoint, also a board-certified toxicologist, would be the one to solve the mystery. Brigida was suffering from an intentional poisoning of the very toxic metal, thallium. As the investigation begins to determine who could have committed this crime against Brigida, detectives learn that it was the person she would least have expected.
