In this episode, we speak with Liberian, West African-born, Sandi K. Johnson, with a BA and MA in English from Mount Mary University. Is a Current student in Carlow University's low residency program for MFA in Poetry. An English professor of 13 years in Houston, Texas. Her published works include: “Little Kate’s Shoe” (poem) in Sounds of this House with National Book Foundation, “Smoke Break” & “The Invisible Woman” (poems) with Solstice Literary Magazine, and “Waiting” (short story) & “A Good-bye after a Hello” (poem) with Swirl Literary Arts Journal. Her Awards include the 2009 Solstice Institute for Diverse Voices Prize, and the 2021 Stephen Dunn Poetry Prize in Solstice: A Magazine of Diverse Voices. 2023 Editor’s Pick from Brain Mill Press Poetry Cycle “Daughter of Our People”. 2024 Carlow MFA 20th Anthology for “Dodging Bullets”
