Welcome to " You need a coach bitch with Chris Hale. I'm your host Chris Hale. I'm a certified life coach that helps queer creatives. Take their passion, turn it into a purpose and get paid. If you are looking to make an impact on the world with your work by dismantling internalized, oppressive thought systems by using coaching spirituality and a lot of cursing, you are in the right place.

So let's get to work.

Hey friends, how the fuck are you? Happy Thursday, although it is actually Wednesday for me. I love Wednesdays because, Well, I do know that it can be a drag for a lot of people that feel those hump day vibes. I actually do very little on this day, and by very little, I mean, I don't see clients, right? So I usually work out.

I produce my podcast today. I actually have a human design reading. With the rockstar, Melanie Hill, who I will be interviewing next week. I've talked a lot about human design lately, and I just wanted to do a deeper dive into it, so I decided to have a reading and get a professional's take on my chart. I cannot wait to compare basically my takeaways versus the more nuanced and specific things that she'll be able to tell me with her extensive knowledge.

So be on the lookout for that episode. I'm not sure when it will drop. It may drop next week. Who knows? The other thing I have going on lately, Marketing meetings on Wednesdays with the amazing Kelly Tuggle while we work toward the launch of all my new branding. If you've been following me on Instagram the last week, you're getting a little tease of what is coming in terms of the full picture of what my website.

And all the other materials that we're creating are gonna look like one of the most exciting things to come from this work is a new freebie I designed for you. I have talked about the process I used for myself and now use on my clients that has led me to create a schedule I love. It's how I know that I need to have this very creative and sort of easy day on Wednesday.

Where I rarely do client calls unless someone needs to reschedule. I never do consults. It's a day for me. I created this through a process that I call intuitive scheduling, and the exciting news is that this process will be available tomorrow. With the launch of my new site, so that's Friday, April 14th if you're listening to this in real time, uh, when the podcast is released.

So today I wanted to kind of walk you through what you get when you download this workbook. It is a full out workbook. First of all. I wanted to make a resource that you could really use. So it has sections where you can literally do the work right there, but there are also some key pages you may want to extract and have with you as quick references.

I also wanted this to be as robust as possible, so we played with the length, and originally we wanted to kind of get it down to 10 pages so that it would be very easily digestible and wouldn't overwhelm you, but. That was completely at odds with the fact that I want you to be able to use this in place of ever hiring me because yes, I do this work with my clients and I do believe in the benefit of working on this with a coach.

I worked through all of this with my own coach when I went full-time in my own business, but for some of you, you may never wanna hire me or maybe it's just not the right time, and I want you to get the most out of. So that you can start creating the calendar that makes you fall in love with your life.

I want you to have that now. No obstacles. So we actually ended up letting it be as long as it needed to be. And I also have some bonus content planned because I just can't help myself. Um, I wanna first of all caution you about feeling like you need to complete the entire workbook. As with any course, Whether it's mine or someone else's, my recommendation is to kind of give it a read through.

Um, it's actually not as text heavy as you might think. So, It's definitely readable. And then I want you to decide what parts of it are most important to you. So you can just like work through it from front to back, or you can start in the middle. You can extract certain lessons or exercises and just focus on them.

It's really like a choose your own adventure. And I do want that to be very clear for anything that you're taking away from me. Is that like you. The expert on your own life. So you decide what's gonna be most relevant for you and when. And so the process, there are really three main components that we're gonna focus on to help you build a schedule that feels right for you.

And honestly, I think this is like revolutionary in calendaring because most processes out there don't actually take you and your individual humanity into. And like people will sell you their process, but it's really just like to kind of rope you in so that like you'll hire them or you're, or you'll buy their next product, right?

And that's the way that you get the personal application of the tools. With my process, we start with the personal, it's all about you right from the beginning. And so I help you get in touch with the most important parts of you that technically you can. Any other process that you use, like this information is going to be relevant across any process, any platform, any system that you have.

So what we start with is, Taking a good look at your available time, like an honest look. We have all bought into this badge of honor that is being busy, so we tend to be lying about the time we have. And I don't wanna say that we're doing intentionally, we're not lying intentionally. We do it because we've been programmed to do it.

It's in like the simple small talk conversations we have on the regular. We've been taught that the most acceptable and honorable answer to questions of like how are things or what's new, is to basically lament about how much you have on your plate, even if that's not true. And what that does is create this belief in our brains that now we need to prove we love to like be right about things, right?

That's our confirmation bias. So instead of being truthful about our time, even with ourselves, we tend to fill the gaps in with a lot of like putzing around, right? So like if we have five hours to get something, We take five, but three of them are spent scrolling, like going to the bathroom. If you're in an office, you might stop at a friend's desk to like shoot the shit.

If you're at home, you're doing a load of laundry, right? Like most of us have no real concept of how long tasks actually take. So, I want you to get real honest with the way you are spending your time, not from like a judgey place, but with genuine curiosity because you cannot make adjustments to anything if you don't know the actual specifics of what's going on.

So that's the first step, is to really do this time audit. How are you currently spending your time? What works for you? What doesn't work for you? What have you been intentional about? What have you not been intentional about the whole thing? Next up, we're gonna look at your available energy. This is for sure not something that most people take into account.

I work with a lot of neurodivergence, and this is a game changer for them especially, but I think it's useful for all humans to consider understanding your own natural rhythm. And doing your best to design tasks around what is available to you at any given point during the day is life changing, especially in terms of what you are able to accomplish, but most importantly is the impact it can have on your mental and emotional wellbeing.

When you stop setting yourself up for failure by having unrealistic expectations about what types of things you'll be able to accomplish, at what times you increase your overall wellbeing. The best example I have for this is from my own personal life, and it's the contrast between me and my husband when it comes to writing.

Writing is not necessarily a focus time activity for me. I whip through content for socials, emails, and even this podcast, which I write out beforehand pretty quickly. Like I easily write up to 2000 words. Like in under an hour. He, on the other hand, needs very focused time where his brain is like sharp to write, he can pour over like the precise wording he wants to use for hours.

And it's not a mindset thing. It's not that he's being like overly perfectionistic, it's just the way his brain works and the kind of focused attention that he needs to put into that task. And I'll be honest, like for a very long time I didn't understand. And I thought he just needed to not care as much or something.

Right. I even said things to him to this effect. And he was always very sure of himself that what his personal needs were were to spend time. If he had listened to me and tried to fit this activity into like a smaller chunk of time or do it at a point in his day where he has less access to focus, he would be absolutely miserable.

That would be an unrealistic setup for him that would end. Just driving him crazy. So in intuitive scheduling, I help you identify these such things so that you can, to the best of your ability, match up your available time with the tasks best suited for what your personal resources are. In that moment, and we're not always gonna be able to do that.

But I got your back there too. I have a whole section on like what to do when your available time and your available energy don't match up. And then the third thing that we look at is how your environment impacts you. This is an area I know for sure my nds are familiar with, but it's possible like neurotypicals have never considered.

So it might be because you're the type of person that can work in the middle of like a busy New York Starbucks, just like raw dogging it with no headphones next to strangers talking in full voice about their friends relationship, drama. This is not I, right? I would be so much more invested in the drama of these people.

I know nothing about than anything I have going on. Also, I'm sensitive to light, heat, air conditioning, smells. The overall vibe of a place like my environment is a V important to me. I cannot take this for granted. And even if you can work anywhere, anytime, is it actually the best thing for you? A lot of us have adapted to needing very little in the way of comfort to be able to get the job done.

It's a survival mechanism, like a trauma response, and it doesn't have to be that way. Considering the influence of the space you inhabit can be one of the biggest determinants for your success. You might find that like one of my clients, you need newness in your surrounding. That might have you schedule yourself to work in various different rooms in your house or take yourself on outings, right to the park library, a friend's house.

Maybe you like co-working. It was definitely a major fail that like most companies, and I think this was like inspired by Google, decided that like co-working spaces, right? Like every office should be like an open air space where everyone interacts with each other all the fucking time. When I worked at SoulCycle, their corporate offices were like that.

It was just like Rosen roses of desks and I mean, the space was beautiful, but it definitely was not a space that I could get work done in like if I needed. Put a playlist together. I wasn't sitting down in the lounge with like four other people to like work on my playlist. Right. This kind of environment really like affected introverts, right?

Like I'm a total introvert that like I tend toward like, Pathological reclusiveness, right? Like that is not the vibe for me, but for some people it absolutely is. So maybe you need a buddy for parallel productivity. I want you to really consider what works for you and what does not. Maybe you wanna get on Zoom with someone and just like work with each other and check in periodically.

Maybe you actually want to go sit down next to someone. At their house or invite them over so that you can both get shit done together. I don't know. That's not my vibe, but maybe it's yours. So in the environmental aspect of it, you're really going to be paying attention right to the way your environment affects you.

And this might actually slow you down a little bit, and I don't want that to worry you because it's one of those like slow down to speed up scenario. Wherein if you really take the time to consider the effect of your surroundings on your actual productivity, it's going to make you so much more productive in the end.

The rest of the workbook is gonna take you through creating an ideal schedule that is results based, so that you can gather realtime purposeful data. So what are you trying to accomplish in that hour? And did you do it? And if not, what impacted that? Was it your environment? Was it your energy? Was it that you thought you had enough time to do it, but you actually didn't?

I also walk you through various exercises around mindset. And highlight some of the most common time sucks that are gonna get in your way. I truly believe that this resource is top tier and I have put in a lot of work for it to be all you need to start making changes in your life right away, whether you do it all or implement just one thing.

I know you are going to blow yourself away with this. So if you're so ready to start scheduling your life in a more intuitive and authentic way for you, you're in luck. It is coming. If you're on my email list already, it's just gonna be sent directly to you. You need to do nothing. If you're not on my email list, go get on it now, and if you still fail to do that or you're listening to this in the future, It's going to be on my website.

You'll go, you'll click on the little icon for intuitive scheduling. It's gonna ask you to input your email. That's the way that you're gonna be able to get access to all the bonus materials that I have coming out. So you definitely wanna make sure that you're giving me your email address, cuz I wanna stay in touch with you.
