Introducing the Sex Exploratorium
Speaker 2Hello world , lo here . This is clearly incorrect .
Speaker 1Smell it . No , smell it , smell it . You'll love it , because my emphasis is the slurry , the realistic stuff . You know the importance of loo . I am becoming the Timble Horror I always wanted to be . I love teaching people with penises about their penis . I am down to fuck .
Speaker 2I am down to fuck Frida . Frida , frida , that's right , baby , I think it's only appropriate . Frida's in my arms as I come back to you after a little break . I'll get to that in the next episode , I promise . Oh baby , oh , baby girl , she is so sweet . She's been real cuddly lately . I really it's been good , it's been good . So today I have an episode that , honestly , I don't know if it's appropriate for Frida's ears . You know , good thing she wasn't in the room . Oh , she's so innocent . I guess she is seven and a mother . Whatever , you know , cats are their own people . Frida , you can listen if you want . Remember to like subscribe rate . Leaving a review really helps me grow . That'd be nice . You know , oh , oh , she's purring . I don't think you can hear it . Oh , baby , I don't really know what to say . To give you a heads up for this one . So now , with my baby Frida purring in my arms , I give you the sex exploratorium .
Speaker 1It's satisfaction , yeah , but like okay , in that situation , what's a turn on ? Because you can get intellectually stimulated , your genitals can get swollen and vasocongested , right , I think that would have to happen for a cake , but I don't yeah , so I don't think I'm actually getting hard on it or wet on it , but I can't look away , that's for sure . Yeah , Actually , though wait okay , there was this one time the pop was just that kind of ejaculatory spurt . I think I did get turned on by that . I think .
Speaker 1I have to say , maybe there was a moment where my enjoyment of that crossed over into King of the One . I was like wait , I think it's already happening .
Speaker 2We're inside it . Sometimes I turn it on before the person even walks in my house .
Speaker 1I like that too . All consent given for that for next time .
Speaker 2Well , so you know , in Colorado , if one person knows you're recording it's audio , it's legal , it's good , it's fine .
Speaker 1I have used that line a lot .
Speaker 2I've used the practice . Yes , I have as well .
Speaker 1It's always been work related and sex related , but mine was homophobia and my kid's school related oh .
Speaker 2I can hook my phone up to this thing and I'll call people and record it , but it doesn't leave any traces , so they don't know .
Speaker 1No clicking on the line . It's the perfect crime .
Speaker 2All right , welcome to the show . Woo , I have two lovely humans here with me today who I met at a party .
Speaker 1Oh yeah , that was a great party . That was an amazing party .
Speaker 2It was I jello wrestled , I jello wrestled , we jello wrestled each other . We did .
Speaker 1I thought you were going to take me down . I was so certain I don't know if you were going easy on me or if I'm more of a haast than I knew . I don't know . I mean , maybe round two sometime .
Speaker 2I wasn't going to like put a lot of force . I knew it .
Speaker 1I knew there's no way . I fairly took you down . That's okay . Now my sense of reality is restored .
Speaker 2So introduce yourselves .
Speaker 1Well , my name is Fawn O'Brightsman . I am one of the owners of the sex employer tort sex employer . You know , the funniest thing is I have misspelled this so many times . I have mispronounced it , it's amazing .
Speaker 2I've actually never heard you mispronounce it . I have I've heard things like that . Yeah , I love it .
Speaker 1So I'll say it and then we'll say it together the sex Exploratorium , exactly Sex .
Speaker 2Exploratorium .
Speaker 1There you go , sex Exploratorium .
Speaker 2You got it , I got it that time . I like that .
Speaker 1It's spelled with an A . I just want you to know that we had a long discussion about that . We actually have to change the business name from the misspelled version , which is something we find hilarious . So this other person , who has not identified herself yet , is an English teacher , and hence the emphasis on spelling . I'm Stina French and I am part of this team bringing the sex Exploratorium to Denver , and it's exciting and terrifying and amazing , just like the sex was .
Speaker 2Yes , exactly so I guess the question on everyone's mind what is a sex Exploratorium ?
Speaker 1It is a space for adult education that is inclusive , it's interactive and it's fun embodied Yep , and it's adults right now as we open . But we do eventually want to expand and offer programming for teens . My nine year old wants to see a running the puberty gamut playground so that kids can learn what's coming for them in puberty .
Speaker 1You know , like I know , so we have , like , we have a lot of vision and what we're going to be right now is an education space . We have a very robust roster of classes set up for August I think we're all really excited about . I want to take the classes I'm not teaching .
Speaker 2I want to take some of the classes and teaching , which is annoying because I can't . I mean , I figured out how to do that .
Speaker 1I'd be at home having sex with myself right now .
Speaker 2I miss this interview , sorry .
Speaker 1But you know , but yeah , I'm excited about all the course offerings and so that's our focus right now is having some really juicy good times with our fellow thoughtful hedonists , you know what are some of the classes ? You know it's not just hedonists . I want to put out that out there A lot of people who pleasure seekers Um well information seekers , yeah , I mean we don't get a lot of information about sex .
Speaker 1I've been teaching human sexuality for over 20 years , yes , and a lot of my students , the things that have surprised them . Well , that surprises me too . Yeah , um , there's a lot of people who think that women pee from their vaginas . There's a lot of people who think that women can stop their menstrual flow , like your urine flow . Um , that's really common . That's a really common one .
Speaker 2You know , can I back up ? Yeah , yeah .
Speaker 1And introduce ourselves a little more thoroughly , because you're tapping into how , like the deeper thing behind how we hooked up to do this together , right , which is we used to teach a learning community where Fawn did the sociological , psychological side of human sexuality and I did literature and creative writing to sort of bring those themes up and out . And you know the students voices and minds and lives . Like we watched people's lives transform in that class . Our lives transformed in that class . Like my own polyamory , I think I learned to accept it . We taught it like five times , right , I think , my own polyamory .
Speaker 1I felt so witnessed by the students coming through the room that it was transformative for me too and accepting , like myself , we had so many comments about that class . Like God , I wish we had learned this shit in ninth grade . Why the fuck doesn't everybody know this ? What is going on ? Like I've been doing this for like a year now . That resonates to this day . There's still students at that place asking if they could take that class . There's still , like , the talk about it .
Speaker 1And so we realized we love this , we love thinking about this , talking about this stuff , and we've both been professors for what ? Over 20 years each . So we wanted to provide a space where the focus was really on this and that we ourselves could educate , be educated , draw in community educators to also teach according to their specialties . But yeah , so I just wanted to back up and say that's how we first came to this topic together is in an educational atmosphere in a college setting , so OK , and we realized that there was no place for somebody who doesn't want to go to college isn't able to go to college . I mean , even taking one class is a huge commitment and problem .
Speaker 2It's a register .
Speaker 1And this is a community college , and so we wanted to make these ideas and theories and knowledge available for everybody , regardless of what they're doing in life . So some of the first classes that we're going to teach are just on anatomy , and that's just . But it's one of the things that people know the least . I do it for physician assistants as well , and I teach them things that they haven't learned in their anatomy , their medical anatomy classes . Look , I'm a pretty kinky human and at the age of 37 , the first time I heard von's lecture on anatomy mind blown .
Speaker 2I'm like , oh , yeah , you found it the spot . There you are .
Speaker 1I was like the A-F-E-Z what the A-F-E-Z zone ? I love it and I didn't have a name for it before , so anyway , yeah , come to the anatomy class .
Speaker 2That sounds great .
Speaker 1And a lesbian teaching about the penis and testicles .
Speaker 2That is just something to witness anyway . That's amazing .
Speaker 1Yeah right , I love teaching people with penises about their penis , Because they'll be like oh yeah , oh my god , that is true .
Speaker 2Well , they think learning about dicks is gay . Oh yeah , exactly .
Speaker 1You know that probably is true . It's like don't pay attention to it until it needs to be there or something . That's like medical . That's a tangent never mind . Even medical textbooks will show prudery like that , where they'll draw in the penetrability of few male-coded bodies and then male-coded bodies . Where'd the asshole go in this drawing ? It's just gone , you know . Ok , sidebar complete .
Speaker 2Oh , a lot , of , a lot of anatomy books . I would probably say , most Coded by Don't have the clitoral anatomy at all .
Speaker 1It drives me insane . It's like not even there , so I would get these medical models for class and they would have an incorrect clitoris .
Speaker 2You'd have to do scolpy . Look , we've known this since 1998 .
Speaker 1Why are we still giving medical models that are being used to teach medical students and other students in health care things that are absolutely wrong and we know they're wrong ? It's yeah , that is one of my soapboxes that I just it drives me crazy . So how does the average person get to know what the clitoris is , let alone Nobody's out there talking about it .
Speaker 1What's the structure of it ? You're punched for talking about it , yeah , so we have a lot of basic courses . We're calling them Like our basics , like our things , like anatomy , things like this , and every four weeks these rotate . So this month , the month we open in August , it's going to be anatomy , but also masturbation for health and pleasure . And my favorite subject , yeah , sexual communication , communication of boundaries . We're going to have trans 101 and queer 101 for people who are not in those groups , who are feeling kind of frozen .
Speaker 2That's amazing .
Speaker 1Right yeah , this one's a genius idea . And it's really for people like grandma , who like OK grandma , you want to get with it . Let's help .
Speaker 2Yeah , just a few days ago , I came up with the idea of a queer conversion camp .
Speaker 1I mean , I pretend not , can I ? That's our summer .
Speaker 2I think you're beating me too . I'm so straight .
Speaker 1I'm so straight , I just felt my whole body becomes so straight . Well , it's funny .
Discussion on Gender Identity and Classes
Speaker 1I actually just got an email from an old student who has a relative who is thinking about their gender identity in very serious ways . So she's like , do you have any classes for that ? And I said , yeah , we actually have trans 101 and queer 101 . That would be good to take . And she goes well , does it go through the pros and cons ? Well , that's an interesting question and I know it seems really funny . But from her point of view , the thought is well , if this person is going to make this decision , they need to know both sides . And I'm like you know One of the actual consequences they could suffer in society from a second , and so the reality is they already know the cons , they already know the bad stuff .
Speaker 1That's what's scary and that's what's often stopping them from that exploration . So I don't really need to tell people . So people might not like that . You've done it . We're aware of that .
Speaker 2I think we figured that one out .
Speaker 1Yeah , right , that one was that difficult , but it was interesting , coming from a straight cis point of view , that that was the top thing .
Speaker 2I think that's a great point , because the way people look at this , the choice is to be yourself , right that's the choice you make , yes and if that's what you mean by the choice . Great , great . But to sit there and take it this is a pro or a con life decision . Like am I going to buy a Subaru or a Ford ? Like , fuck you , no , you're wrong . Everything about that is creepy , weird and wrong .
Speaker 1Can I talk about a couple other classes ?
Speaker 2we're doing , but I do want to just put out .
Speaker 1It does seem creepy , weird and wrong for us , but for somebody who hasn't thought about this at all . I think that's a normal kind of process to go through . They think , ok yeah , you're making this decision , like you're moving or something .
Speaker 2Yes .
Speaker 1And so , yeah , I really want to reach those people who want to ask those questions without judgment or shame , so that they can become actually because they might not be able to ask people in their lives .
Speaker 2I 100% agree . People just need to . She is way better at that than me .
Speaker 1I'm learning . I'm at your feet and you were toodling , toodling .
Speaker 2Toodling , yeah , toodling . Toodling is not the verb form of what that is . I like to distinguish between honkeys and rednecks , so like a honky I can be forgiving . They'll say the ignorant , hateful thing out of ignorance Right . And the redneck says the ignorant , hateful thing , out of hate they know .
Speaker 1They know what they're doing . They know what they're doing on purpose .
Speaker 2And they're like which camp are you in ?
Speaker 1OK , cool .
Speaker 2I can talk to the person who's just ignorant .
Speaker 1Yeah , I want the honkeys in my class .
Speaker 2I will very calmly and politely point out that was an incredibly offensive question .
Speaker 1And people are just like really . So I guess in some way we're offering ourselves to receive some questions like that and still be there for it , you know . And help them get to the other side so they can spread the learning too .
Speaker 2But yeah , OK , now you had some .
Speaker 1Oh yeah . No , I'm off on another tangent now thinking about that , because I'm a redneck . I am a redneck but I'm like , so in love with my accent and the landscape of where I come from , but I did flee from there because of all the social problems . But now I'm rethinking , like should I self-identify ? How's a redneck ? Maybe that's problematic , but anyway , there's a lot of social justice warriors down there just trying to live life in the South .
Speaker 1Not making it easy , are they ? Ok ? This is the class that I predict is going to book , going to be fully scheduled and registered for that's the word I'm looking for . The class I think is going to be full of registrants . First is the dry mouth , wet pussy class , yeah yeah . So we're going to have a cannabis expert come in and talk to us about the use of cannabis for sexual healing , libido purposes , for use during sex , and so that would be like a little lecture that's going on . Meanwhile , participants will be making out of ceramics their own vulva , penis or tip pipe , because we're crafters , we really like to get crafty . So every month we're going to have a lecture that's paired with a crafting session , and we're usually going to have a guest teacher come in for that kind of a thing , and it should be a great friends night out , date night . Come single and meet people who are also interested in doing cool shit like that . You know , speaking of , we also have a speed dating . Oh , we have pansexual speed dating . I am so excited about this .
Speaker 2I'm going to go .
Speaker 1I'm not leading it so that I can go . Yeah , yeah , yeah , I'm leading it because I really , really , really want to . Yeah , I really need to be one of the people in that . I got to register myself before it fills up . But , yes , so pansexual speed dating . How fucking fun is that . I cannot wait to see how you , how you , lead us through .
Speaker 2I know I'm so excited .
Speaker 1I keep having ideas . It's amazing . I need to tell you . So we have decided we have kinky titles and I love it for us .
Exploratorium
Speaker 1I'm not putting this on a business card . I already put one on for you . I did , I ordered us business cards . It's too fucking late , bitch . You don't got to give them to nobody . But you have cards coming that say grand madam of the exploratorium .
Speaker 2And if you really don't want to give them out .
Speaker 1I don't know . I'll figure out something to do with them , and I've been saying this five times a day as my , as my morning affirmation to get out of bed . You know I got some depression and stuff kicking , so sometimes it's hard . I wake up now and I go . I am the headmistress of the sex auditorium and I just say it again and again until I believe it and I'm like this is what's happening . I'm embodying this . I am becoming the temple whore I always wanted to be . So that's what it's about . I love that . Your emphasis was on education and that's why we work together .
Speaker 1Because my emphasis is the slurry , is the fuckery , is the playfulness , is the figure out what your bodies can do that you didn't know yet . Figure out your limits and if you want to go a little past one like I'm the hedonist , I'm the filthy whore in this operation and I'm proud of it . I've spent most of my life spelunking in the sexual realm , and there's places .
Speaker 1I haven't been yet . I can't wait to learn from my students . You know , not necessarily in that way to look you just get . This is an educational endeavor and our favorite we have t shirts made and our favorite one is this graph paper . It's like one side it's like orgasms going up and one side it's education and it's like as education goes up , the orgasms go up and really the meeting of those two forces is more health and pleasure and we care a lot about that .
Speaker 2Yeah well , this is the you know , I think , as you know , and probably why you started this , this is an incredibly underrepresented area of education because people are scared of it , because they have conservative parents or conservative beliefs , have never been taught that this is bad and you'll go to hell and you'll go blind and just stupid shit Like . No , if it's consensual , go for it .
Speaker 1Yeah , and there's so many things which is why the education piece matters . Without the education we can't do some of these more . You know out there things safely .
Speaker 2That's true . There's a lot of kind of dangerous stuff out there .
Speaker 1Yeah , and if you know how to do it and if you know what to use . Like , my favorite phrase in any class is Loub is our friend . Loub is so important and we don't talk about that nearly enough . No , you know , I never used Loub before you preached it . I really did . You increased my sexual pleasure by harping on that to our students .
Speaker 2I didn't even have to touch it .
Speaker 1I know I'm that good , I just want to tell you what's ? Your rate .
Speaker 2Are you going to do a class on the orgasm stare ?
Speaker 1Well , you are .
Speaker 2Will you just look at someone until they orgasm ?
Speaker 1Jesus Christ , I'm going to take that class . I'll take your private lessons . Actually people are already writing us for private lessons . We knew that was going to happen , and so we're fielding it very generously right now . We're going to have to have a talk at our next business . How we feel the questions that come in , feeling a little boundary pushing . You know we're already getting some of that Again we're taking that on .
Speaker 1We're like okay , bring us , bring us your masses , but I mean , I've got several generations of Femdom running in my DNA and I can handle those types . I like handling those types . They don't always like being handled , but I can handle them . One of my first jobs out of college well , actually I was still in college at the time was at Fascinations on Colorado the old one . It's really nice and fancy and not creepy now , but I had a huge education from that . I had taken multiple human sexuality classes graduate level and undergraduate and that was nothing compared to what I learned working at a sex shop . Yes , yeah , I learned , like the realistic stuff , you know , the importance of lube . I learned that everybody has their kink and that it wasn't something to be ashamed of . Don't yuck people's young .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah .
Speaker 1It was an amazing experience in so many ways . Plus , it's right next to shotgun Willys , so they would get out earlier than we would , and so all the guys from shotgun Willys would come over to our place . So , yeah , I know how to handle them . I was looking on the internet forever for like the best strap on harness for fucking ever and a sex toy store . That's where I finally am like .
Speaker 2I'm willing to talk to the person across the aisle and it's like yeah , like this is the one you need with your body type . Here you go , baby .
Speaker 1And it was like there's sex . I was looking for a year and a half . Yeah , we definitely want to look at collaborations with stores in Denver , because they're already out there doing this education every day . Absolutely , absolutely , it's happening .
Speaker 2I love that , like when you walk into a sex store and you're looking for something and then you can just say it .
Speaker 1You can just say it , and they're like oh , yeah , right over here . That's all I did was I was a salesperson , so just wander the aisles and talk to people about their sex toys .
Speaker 1Yeah , and my favorite thing was talking to men about pocket pussies that was hilarious because they didn't want to talk to me , you know , because they didn't want to talk about the fact that they wanted one , even though they were in the aisle and I would break the tension by . There's one called the fleshlight and if you smell it it smells like candy , like that kind of candy guy as a kid , like they're really cheap candy , but it's like oh right . And so I'm like smell it . No , smell it , smell it , you love it , and that would be enough for them to actually have a conversation with me , that's amazing .
Speaker 1Yeah , Sometimes you got to do some some funny things to get people , so I loosen up . I have really sensitive nipples and a sex toy store was the first place where someone leaned in on talking to me about what that could mean for me in terms of toys . Yeah , and I had no idea . I was going to say that's , you're absolutely right . Do we have a day to honor sex toy store employees ?
Speaker 2and all the education .
Speaker 1Yeah , I think we should have a day .
Speaker 2Let's start that petition .
Speaker 1Yeah , we'll like we'll do it . We'll do that , yeah , okay , I'm telling you a couple more classes though .
Speaker 2Oh , do it .
Speaker 1There's a couple more things we put in our . Do you have any others ? You really want to make sure the world knows about .
Speaker 2No , no , no , no Okay .
Speaker 1Okay , Well , I'm excited . Fawn is going to do history prostitution oh , I am excited about it as a lecturer . Yeah , we're focusing on academics here , not just you know how to ejaculate and all of that .
Speaker 2So we're also doing , continuing ed yeah , so especially for teachers , but there's a lot of people here , social workers , there are people who are ? Continuing ed yeah yeah . After working in a lesbian bar for three years , I feel like I have a master in modern queer studies .
Speaker 1Yes , I just don't want to hear your paper . I don't know any history I know , but like where we are now .
Speaker 2I know that shit well yeah .
Speaker 1Fawn is well . Contemporary queer studies could be a thing . Absolutely Put a pin in that , please . But I love that you have a whole thing about the Colorado specific history .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1It's really interesting . I mean , we have a really rich history of prostitution and we kind of have swept it under the rug . We don't really talk about it . We have a few plaques around town that'll say you know , this was the area where the prostitution happened . It's even that's hidden . I got to stay in one of Colorado's brothels once Nice and Victor , colorado . They have a brothel . They've turned into a hotel there , nice . It's pretty cool . So we're also going to do erotic movement each month , or sensual , just just embodiment . So we're going to have an erotic dance sorry , ecstatic dance , and we have several DJs waiting to do that loop pulled from our own community and that's exciting . And we're going to have tantric yoga in August and then the next month it might be burlesque moves for self-esteem . You know who knows like we're . Again , we're reaching for guest teachers , for those things to come in and show us Somebody wants to teach fan dancing ?
Speaker 2I'm really excited about that , that's amazing , yes , yeah .
Speaker 1So we're becoming a center , not just for educating the mind in this and increasing your own pleasure , but really getting into your body , because all of those things need to be happening for pleasure and health to increase . I'm really becoming a hub for the community as well . I've been amazed at how many people I've talked to who have these great skills and backgrounds . There's so many people who have knowledge that they would love to share and we would love to hear , so it's going to be really exciting in all the different places we can go .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1I will say one last thing about classes . I will promote myself as a writing teacher for a moment . So I was a professor of writing for 25 years and a thing I've been doing for two years is this event called Listen to your Skin , and it's become quite the center of my life . We have an open mic . We have feature readers . If you go to our Facebook page you can see we've recorded our past features . The sets are so literary and so horny . You know the person who's hosting a series . The taste gets reflected in who you're picking right . I'm realizing after two years of doing this , and I love the most exquisite prose wrapped around the smuddiest smut , and so this shit is hot , that is your brand .
Speaker 1This shit is hot . Yes , it's my brand , yeah . So , we have a book coming out called Listen to your Skin An Anthology of Queer and Self-Love . It's the hottest collection of erotica I've ever held in my hands , and I and my co-hosts literally got naked and rolled in the pages when we were proofing them and just like oh , this is amazing .
Speaker 1Took satticking Took some busy . Yeah , it is . We took the video and everything . Yeah , it's a whole thing . It's a whole thing . We don't just make corn , we make art . Like you know , there's captions and things going on now and that .
Speaker 1But yeah , so back to the sex exploratorium . This has been going on for two years and we have a robust bunch of regulars who rotate , people who just come in and out and it's fantastic . And we started doing writing during it . So at the sex exploratorium , every third Thursday , we're going to have a writers group where we're going to meet , we're going to do writing . So the emphasis is going to be a little different than it is at the Listen to your Skin event . It's going to be much more focused on generating writing and I hope you know a really rich community forms in that , and each time we do it , we'll end with 30 minutes of like open mic-ing to each other , and that's the thing I guess that I am looking forward to the most each month , just to feed my own soul . That's my passion and my deepest expertise is in helping people get their shit up and out .
Speaker 1So , yeah , and I'll say , since we kind of took each other's class during that learning community class . Yeah , we did the work to clarify when we both stayed in the room when we were teaching and we became a student of the other one Right during that time . Yeah , so I have written bad poetry when I'm sad for most of my life , but I would never share it with anyone , like even my parents , my children , my spouse , nobody . And she got me to actually , like , say my words in public around students , which I found even more terrifying because , you know , I was supposed to have this level of professionalism and that kind of thing and it really inspired me to where I actually did an open mic night . A couple , a couple , you're right . You've been on stage a couple of times using my own poetry and she's good too . Like her writing is awesome . That's amazing . Yeah , I will take this much credit .
Speaker 2You should , no , you should take it all . Our students have a lot of the credit because they want to hear from you too .
Speaker 1It was also them . Yeah , they were like come on , would you write . Come on , would you write .
Speaker 2I was recently scolded by a bartender at an open mic night for being so fucking sad all the time .
Speaker 1Were they like right at Happy Po'in ? God damn it .
Speaker 2I'm like I don't think you understand open mic .
Speaker 1Yeah , we all came to witness each other's pain . Yeah , I would love to see an open mic where it's all butterflies and rainbows .
Speaker 2I mean , that's how I'm bored .
Speaker 1No , I mean OK , like if the people doing that poetry are great poets and if you care about poetry , you can get off on the craft Like Ross Gay . Ok , ross Gay will occasionally hit a super melancholic note and it'll ring so deep and so heavy , but a lot of the time Ross Gay is painting . This is just beautiful landscapes of gratitude and beauty and you can just float along on them and it doesn't get boring . But I think it's a rare talent .
Speaker 1Otherwise you need that drama , that grar-scuro between the dark and the light . Yeah , no , mama , no mama .
Speaker 2All right , what else have we got ?
Speaker 1What else do we want to talk about ? About this adventure ? I'm trying to think of the other . Oh , the cuddle puddle . Do you want to talk about the cuddle puddle ? I'm really excited . I've never been to a cuddle puddle . You've never been to a puddle , I've never . No , and I'm a little scared .
Speaker 2I know We'll warm up right now

Speaker 2. We'll warm up right now . Ok , I've only done it with groups . I know it's funny because I love hubs what ? I've only done it with groups , I know .
Speaker 1Yeah , right To do it with the streets .
Speaker 2Well , I've never done it with groups , I know really .
Speaker 1That's why we're going to do it , starting with the Body Boundary Basics mini class , to help the room feel like at least we've all heard about that . And we're also going to have two a month . One is for general public and one is only for our queer fam , and so if you've had experiences that would make that extra hard to do with a mixed group , there will be once a month when it's queer fam . Now , of course , we know things happen in the queer community that are not ideal .
Speaker 1And domestic violence is not something we are immune to in all of that .
Speaker 2To community . But yeah , we have creepers too .
Speaker 1But in general that hopefully is going to make some of us feel safer to be in that space .
Speaker 2We're going to see how it works . I mean , right now .
Speaker 1really our curriculum is . It's based on 25 years of being professors and interested in sex , but it's also just a scattershot like OK , what does Denver want us to do ? I mean , we have I won't even say a document , we have a scroll of classes we want to teach .
Speaker 2I mean , there's no end ideas .
Speaker 1And every time we talk to someone brilliant like you and then you add something to the list and I'm still like the pin in it with wait , what was that You're going to teach us ? And I just lost my train of thought because I'm still I'm like , want to sign up for this class .
Speaker 2We have lots of fun .
Speaker 1Yeah , so many fucking ideas , but right now we're scattershotting it . Are people going to want to take a class in the middle of the day on a Tuesday ? Are people going to want to show up on a Wednesday ? We've built most of our social things on Friday night , saturday night and Sunday day . We think that makes the most sense . But who knows , maybe people want to get freaky on a Tuesday .
Speaker 2I think there's enough people out there that don't have regular schedules .
Speaker 1Yeah , we're going to find that out .
Speaker 2I mean that's just what she got to do is just see what people want .
Speaker 1So yeah , if you look at our schedule and say I wish this was there , or I wish it would be there .
Speaker 2Yeah , please just email us . Shit . Do this on Thursdays . I'll be there Because we're easy right now we are easy , the easy sex school , exactly what you want .
Speaker 1What ? You want oh that's exciting , ok , so look , we're such geeks , we're such a nerdy . Look , I had a pen once that said talk nerdy to me , I need to make a new one . Right , the fact that we picked graphs on our swag . I lost my point because I'm stoned .
Speaker 2That's normal on this show .
Speaker 1Yeah , I did lose my point . Yeah , we didn't come stoned .
Speaker 2I want to put that out there we got that way after arriving . Yes , as you know , if you're a regular listener , my landlord is a dick and I can't smoke . We hopped a hotbox with a car , yeah , so we hopped a box of car , right , it was awesome .
Speaker 1Hi with oh , did you ever have a theme song that was the high with low ?
Speaker 2because I wanted to have a theme . I had to work on that .
Speaker 1Ok , I got musicians in my pocket . We might have to do that thing because I'm not a dork .
Speaker 2If something comes to anybody's mind , you know .
Speaker 1Right If we smoke another one of those ? I think we might we might think it's good it was . We were talking about something else with the curriculum . We were talking about the cuddle puddles maybe .
Speaker 2Yeah , we were talking about that .
Speaker 1Body boundaries , body boundaries , let it go , just let it go .
Speaker 2Oh no , I got it we were talking about these stuff for nerds .
Speaker 1We have spice levels . Ok , was that the nerd God ? You can edit this , so yeah that's nerdy . It's like we have spice levels and the way we've divvied all this up , so you have a mild class which is just informational , pretty much all of mine , and then you go toward the spicy and you may see live modeling of things , you may practice techniques on yourself , you know like it's going to get pretty spicy , like a erotic touch .
Speaker 1Yes , you tried to get me to count the open mic and writing . She tried to convince me to make the writing group spicy because it was so terrifying to have the idea of writing . That's a lot . We made that medium To write your own erotica and then say it in front of people . That's the common message .
Speaker 2I would recommend you make everybody come and naked .
Speaker 1So then , real nerdy things Extra spicy . The real nerdy thing , though , is that we're going to give masters and PhDs quote unquote , so that , if you attend a certain amount of curriculum , you get some special swag that really denotes you as someone . If I run into you in a bar some night and I'm on the prowl , I might need to consider you more , because , look , you've got a fucking PhD from the sex pluratorium Sex pluratorium .
Speaker 2That's right , I think .
Speaker 1Let's put some thought into it . Yeah , I think that shows some credentials . I do too . I mean . I don't want to sell those .
Speaker 2Yeah , I want those to only be special ones , you have to earn it . Yeah , you can't sell that .
Speaker 1We're too excited about this . It's crazy . I'm making playlists , we're texting each other three in the morning . I almost texted you at 3 o'clock with an idea for a thing .
Speaker 2That's fine .
Speaker 1Yeah , yeah , we were working to 1 o'clock in the morning the other night and it doesn't feel like work at all On sweatshirts with embroidery on them . Oh hey , Good job . Yeah , I'm very excited about it Because our logo is a brain , but the little folds of the brain say sex on them , like little sex things all over them .
Speaker 1Yeah our artist is amazing . He's done this . We've decided our theme as a business is ancient , contemporary , right , and so we have for our storefront and for some shirts and stuff . We have an old school , like Ode , on a Grecian urn , like the urns would have those bodies large across the field Orgies , orgies . And so we've got a beautiful one that is just a tangle of bodies and it's rainbow across it and it's just the design coming through with . This is so beautiful , yeah .
Speaker 1I love it , yeah , yeah . So it's a very artistic , educational , interactive experience , like even from our point of view , it's been exciting . Should we talk more about the farther vision at all ? We're opening in stages because we're a queer owned . Do we even count as middle class ? I don't know if we count as middle class , but we're not being bankrolled here . We're just blood sweat and tearsing it and wait and I lost my thought . I'm too stoned . Don't let me get that stoned before an interview again .
Speaker 2Why am I ?
Speaker 1mentioning . Why am I whining about blood sweat and tearsing it ? So we're starting small . Yes , and that's we've actually been working on this idea for about four years . We were going to open up in 2020 . Eh , things happened , and so the ultimate vision for this is a museum that's a walkthrough , so you would walk through the vagina and into the womb room and you would be able to see like the ovary and releasing an egg .
Speaker 2Oh , the thing you told me about the womb room .
Speaker 1That I cannot forget is the Red River that will be coming through every 28 minutes Like this is ovulation . This is the release of the eggs You'll really get to experience . There's a ballroom where the sperm plushies will be laying everywhere .
Speaker 2I so want to see like teenagers walk through it . That's what I'm saying .
Speaker 1They will love it , and in countries that have logical approaches to sex education , countries such as Amsterdam , this kind of shit wouldn't even raise an eyebrow . It's just like yes , teach the children . And here are our prudery . I mean , we're living in a country where , ok , so my five-year-old knew all the words for their parts . They said them at school and that led to us being investigated .
Speaker 1When we know we should know for like oh , is something fishy going on in their home , just because they knew the words for their parts . So we know , though , that the number one way to prevent anything fishy happening to a kid is to teach them every fucking thing as soon as they can learn it , but we , as a culture , can't wrap our heads around . We're not ready to hear that or be with that . That's what's preventing us from lowering dangerous STI infection rates , from lowering teenage pregnancy in really thoughtful , logical ways , and the only way that's ever going to happen is through learning and love and compassion and acceptance of people who didn't know the right way to go , and they're figuring it out , too , you know we have to get together on this .
Speaker 2We did . Well , I mean , you're really fighting a culture battle here , because education is the enemy of those prude folks , because they believe in saying shit and if you learn anything , you're going to learn that it's bullshit . So this is the last thing they want . Yeah .
Speaker 1And the problem they live in a crystal house that's easily broken . So that's our tool . Our weapon is to make sure everybody is as educated as possible , and I think that's one of the reasons we did want to reach out to people who weren't just in college . That's such a small percentage of the population . We want to have everyone have that knowledge . Let everyone be able to talk about their own pleasure . You know , every culture that wants to control the people controls them with their sexuality . You know , if you can control somebody's sexuality , you've got them . And you know we see that more and more of like . We don't want to hear about gender , we don't want to hear about sex . Why don't we want to hear about those things ? Because it gives us that power . It's the power of the people , man .
Speaker 2Yeah , power to the people Right .
Speaker 1So now everybody gets to know that women don't pee from their vaginas , that's right , that's right , and less and less .
Speaker 2Hold on . Okay , now we're going to . We're going to flip that a little .
Speaker 1There is one instance in which a woman might be said to be peeing from her vagina . If she is into auto erotic golden showers and vaginal douching , she might then actually pee from her vagina .
Speaker 2Okay .
Speaker 1So she's taking her own pee . You would take your own pee through tubing ? Yeah , and then you would fill up your vagina with that . Do people do that ? Yes , that's so interesting People have their privacy . They do that kink and that's unusual , Like usually .
Speaker 2I learned something new today .
Speaker 1It's a common one ? No , yes , it is . If you're kinky , it's one of the . It's not that far out there , you know . It's a people like to have their partners pee into them through funnels and tubing . Yeah , and then you would pee out of your vagina , I guess .
Speaker 2Yeah , sure , you know I'm a resistant thinker , so I'm always looking for the exception . Sure , no , I'm yeah Disagreeable . We are disagreeable yeah . That was a notable exception , worthy of this show .
Speaker 1No , that was . It , was I'm fascinated by that now I'm going to really mess up my Google algorithm . I'm going like that Sorry . Well , back to your point though , yeah . A lot of this learning . The only place we're getting it is porn .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1And that's not the only place we should be getting this information y'all , Because it is so skewed and out of context . But it's like just like sci-fi , somehow the only way we know the dystopian future we're heading for is like porn is showing you your options at least , and nobody else's , so no wonder we go to it yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah and like well , how do you ever been on fat life ?
Speaker 1Oh God .
Speaker 2It's just so like male dominated and cis-hats normalized .
Speaker 1I'm a horny lesbian . I am down to fuck . That's true about me . I also have standards and I'm like I have this 1950s lesbian housewife vision where I want to like cook dinner for my woman in saran wrap and meet her with a cocktail at the door , Like I'm commitment oriented but I'm a whore . Right , you can't . Women , don't just fuck around .
Speaker 1So I got on fat life like okay , what if I just do this for the first time I ever ? I was just naked about all of it . I was just like here I am , are there some horny sluts out there ? You can just and you know what . That's another sidebar We'll get
Navigating Boundaries and Sexuality
Speaker 1into another time . Whether I succeeded in that realm , we're not going to go into that .
Speaker 1What I'm going to say is it was swimming in a sea of dick . It was swimming in a sea of dick and I'm like for a minute I'm homoflexible , and so the flexible part was like there's a lot of dick around .
Speaker 2Maybe I ought to get with some of it .
Speaker 1I'm kind of just lousy with it If I was looking for dick , it's like when you're in the grocery store . You're like , all right , I'll get the dick Lousy with dick .
Speaker 2It was right at the cash register , but I had to leave .
Speaker 1I had to leave the space after three weeks because my nervous system couldn't handle all the unsolicited cystic . Yeah , yeah , I could not . It was always cystic . It was never curl dick that was being creepy . It was cystic every time and I'm like , okay , I have patience and I'm really motivated , but I just forget it . So I shut it down after three weeks . I wish there were a kinky horny site just for queers . Honestly , Seriously . There's not , I don't know . If it please God , let's now be the time that I learn of it , if there's a demand listeners to this podcast if there's a demand for that .
Speaker 1maybe this exploratorium needs to house that site . Yeah , get on it . People Do it . Let us know .
Speaker 2You should steal Nike's slogan Right , just do it .
Speaker 1Yeah , unless you don't want it because boundaries are . It'll be way too long . It'll be way too long to tag along . Do you have any idea how long ? And every latent life lesbian is going to relate to this , every latent life lesbian . You're welcome for what I'm about to say . Do you know how long it has taken me and fat life did help part of the sidebar to embrace the part of me that can really just fuck a woman the way she wants ? How hard is she ? Because always this voice don't objectify , don't harm respect , you know .
Speaker 1Yeah , and especially if you're later in life to it , I think you have to struggle with that a lot . Actually , I think that's a very common lesbian experience , just in general .
Speaker 2Yeah , I love strip clubs Like I love them Because it gets permission .
Speaker 1They're super fun . I enjoy it . I enjoy them enjoying it . It's just a fun time . Every excuse I had cancer . I know that's a bummer , but I'm fine now Yay .
Speaker 2Thank you , yay , yay .
Speaker 1But halfway through I decided to have a halfway through chemo strip club party and like everybody had to come to the strip club my brother , my family , everybody , my in-laws . I demanded a strip club night for that and it was great . Where was I going ? Now I'm thinking about strip clubs . We're talking about objectifying , oh right Permission Objectifying women ?
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1You know it's very hard as a lesbian who's a feminist and that's a lot of lesbians , Any queer feminist , any feminist when you're like , wow , that's really gorgeous , I love those boobs . Am I objectifying that person ? I'm having a physical reaction to seeing their boobs and now I'm looking at your boobs . Yeah , Nice Love , that's great .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah .
Speaker 1I'm looking sometimes I say to people my boobs are down here . You remind me to say that when we get into those spaces . Yeah , You're like see , don't forget to say my boobs are down here Right . Because I want to objectify you to sell the business I like to sell .
Speaker 2But you know that I'm an exhibitionist , that's true , yeah , so it's very quintessential ?
Speaker 1Yeah , agreed , I didn't know what we were talking about anywhere else . Respecting women yeah , we're probably going to need to do a class on that . Yeah , like , how do you embody your kinkiest , nastiest ? Seriously , if a woman asks you to piss on her and she likes it , how do you get into it ? If your goal is to give good game , as they say , if all in your head you're like but isn't that degrading you ? If someone's in the moment of degrade me ? Yes , like , how do you square those ?
Speaker 2things , a lot of communication .
Speaker 1A lot of communication and bravery . Yeah , yeah , guts to walk on the wild side a little bit . And I think if we see any kind of sexual play or sex work as degrading , then we're automatically objectifying and putting them in a negative light , and I think that's part of where that oh , can I look at that comes from , the way it always gets associated with degradation .
Speaker 2Right .
Speaker 1We don't have the same thing about muscles . I often say like I'm a sex worker , I use my brain , I talk about sex all the time , though that's what I get paid for . How is that any different Just because I'm using a different organ ? It's a very complicated kind of thing and there's so much negative kind of patriarchal ownership of it . Sex work is beautiful and it should be legal and supportive .
Speaker 2Yes , yeah .
Speaker 1And when it is legal and supportive , the people who are doing it aren't doing it because they have to , or it's because of finances or because somebody's forcing them to , like we often will see in the US , except for the places where it's legalized . Now I'm getting into a whole soapbox of prostitution . I am very , very passionate about it .
Speaker 2I don't know any stance on this , but I imagine if men had access to legal , safe prostitution there would be less rapes .
Speaker 1You know , that's exactly why it's so funny you say that , because that's a Catholic church . That is why they ran brothels out of their institutions , because they believe that if men had somewhere else to go then they wouldn't rape and pillage the good Catholic women . So yeah , you just hit it .
Speaker 2If it's an environment where they're forced to respect the woman , maybe that will rub off a little Right .
Speaker 1Right , so yeah , places where we have respected sex workers . One of the books I like to read from is Siddhartha .
Speaker 2It is .
Speaker 1And looking at it from such a different point of view , where the court is on is An educator .
Speaker 1An educator , absolutely A caring , wonderful educator that teaches him love , teaches the Buddha love . I love your lesson that you did on that with our students . I love doing a dramatic reading , but it's this topic of sexual healing , yeah , like I'm not going to get into details , but slight trigger warning molestation I grew up in a home where it was not safe and even as a very small child I understood something about that that even then made me have some sympathy for the perpetrator , and I don't know if that's just crazy for me to say , but I felt real sympathy because I understood , even as a 12 year old .
Speaker 1The reason this is happening is cultural and is not just personal . There is a complete lack of communication in this home and this family about everything , especially sexuality . No one here has the tools to deal with this , to name it , to do anything about it , and there's a lot of reasons in my history that I have become someone who is going to name the damn thing , but that's a big one and it's made me insubordinate in a lot of situations in my life , and so for me , this place we're creating is a space for healing that we really need to do as a culture , and the more we normalize these discussions and spreading this information with joy and pleasure , we're gonna be able to heal Like I think we're on a mission here with this a little bit , to help us heal as a society .
Speaker 2We are fighting a culture war .
Speaker 1Culture war . Yeah , that's what you said earlier .
Speaker 2It's true , that's what I'm doing .
Speaker 1We're just using dildos as our . I don't know Our swords , I don't know .
Speaker 2I fucking love it .
Speaker 1So I am trying to brainstorm what the headmistress of the sex board is oh yeah , right Back to that . What like do I have a scepter ?
Speaker 2Do I get up ?
Speaker 1Oh okay , how could you not ? I haven't gotten into the equestrian stuff yet . I've got a writing crap Scepters . Okay , I've got a purple one . What should I have ? Lo Funny , tell me , what should I be wearing ?
Speaker 2Oh wait , you got it . I think it should be like a staff . It's like a cross made of dicks .
Speaker 1Oh , I can do a staff . Can they be electro stim toys Can ?
Speaker 2they be spell ants . You got it wrong .
Speaker 1You got it wrong . That's a spicy extras .
Speaker 2I was thinking maybe on the top , one of those ones that moves .
Speaker 1We're going to think about it . Of course that's what we're really thinking about is our costuming .
Speaker 2Curriculum too sure .
Speaker 1But what we're wearing is very important .
Speaker 2It's important presentations .
Speaker 1It is very important . I'm sure I'm going to be very , very boring , but that's actually not true . I got a bunch of shirts that I was very happy about that have like flying dicks and like bunch of boobs and it's really exciting . Cartoon yeah , you remember Lisa Frank ? I think that's right . This was a Lisa Frank dick shirt . Yeah , that's pretty amazing .
Speaker 2That looks just like it could be in a fabric keeper . We should stock those dicks .
Speaker 1We should stock those in our retail space .
Speaker 2I know , I was thinking that A moment my brain went to Anne Frank .
Speaker 1That's not . No , I was like I don't know if that's appropriate , I don't . I don't know if anybody would have seen the mock-up . I don't . I still do . Have we taken up like too much of your time now ?
Speaker 2No , I'm just thinking about an hour . I'm digging .
Speaker 1I'm digging our conversations .
Speaker 2This has been great , but yeah , it has been about an hour , I think . I think we're at a good spot , all right .
Speaker 1We will end with Anne Frank dicks . Anne Frank and dicks . No , not where I want to end , I'm not okay with it . Okay , I'll tell you a quick story , okay . And then , so that we don't end on Anne Frank and dicks . So I have a writing crop . It's a purple writing crop . My wife gave this to me when we lived in Lamar Colorado , which , if you don't know where that is , it's 30 miles from Kansas , it's a very ranching kind of town , and so she brings out this purple writing crop and I'm like , oh hi . And I was like where on earth did you find a purple writing crop in Lamar Colorado ? It's not like there's sex stores , right , she's like at the horse store . I never even started , it Never occurred to me that people .
Speaker 2I see you did other horses .
Speaker 1Oh my gosh , this is interesting , I know . Yeah , don't limit yourself Okay . Well , one thing I really want to do sooner than later on this topic kind of , is build your own sex toys , oh yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1I mean , there's so many easy , cheap ways to build highly satisfactory sex toys and no , it's like , yeah , you can go on YouTube and kind of do some searching , but I think it'll be really fun to have that one be one of our crafting nights is when I was in Uganda , I took an exceptionally large carrot and made a dildo out of it to fuck somebody with .
Speaker 2Wow , I mean just nature just looking around and did you put a ?
Speaker 1condom on over it .
Speaker 2I don't remember .
Speaker 1We're going to hope you did .
Speaker 2I think so Well carrots aren't that sugary . Probably not .
Speaker 1They can get little like slivers .
Speaker 2Oh , the tears , oh yeah .
Speaker 1And then the food is stuck in your rectum or something , or your vagina , wherever you put it Always put condoms on your vegetable sets .
Speaker 2Put condoms on your vegetables before you fuck your fruit . Yeah , and vegetables .
Speaker 1Now , that's a good place , Ed yeah .
Speaker 2Fruit fucking yeah it's important .
Speaker 1Tina should not begin to list all her favorite vegetables and fruits to fuck . No , not now , that's in September . Since September , I just hope it's your main list .
Speaker 2Now you've given it away .
Speaker 1I can't believe how red . That made you that's awesome .
Speaker 2Well , this was great , this was amazing . Thank you so much this was amazing .
Speaker 1Thank you so much , thank you so much , thank you so much , thank you so much , thank you so much , thank you so much , thank you so much , thank you so much .
Speaker 2This was amazing .
Speaker 1Thank you for your time .
Speaker 2Thank you .
Speaker 1All right everybody .
Speaker 2Have a good one .
Speaker 1Bye , see you next time on Getting High With Love .
Feedback and Learning From Queerly Incorrect
Speaker 2What'd you think ? Did you like it ? I had a really fun time making that one . I learned things . I always liked learning things , and a woman can in fact pee out of her vagina if she is participating in a certain kink . That was news to me . In no way do I mean the kink shame . You know , everybody has their own things . If you have any questions , comments , whatever , you can send me an email at queerlyincorrectatgmailcom . I would really like to thank Fawn and Stina for such a good time and I cannot wait to take a class . They gave me a certificate for a free class and I will be there because I want to learn shit too , you know , fuck , yeah , let's do it , people . Queerly incorrect is produced by Queerly .
