About Dr. Bridgette Peteet 

Dr. Bridgette Peteet, Professor of Psychology at Loma Linda University and a California Licensed Clinical Psychologist, is a leading authority on the long-term effects of childhood trauma and family dysfunction. With over 20 years of experience in clinical practice and research, she directs the Resilience and Disparities (RAD) Lab, where she studies how early experiences, culture, and identity influence mental health and resilience.

Her forthcoming book, (dis)Honor Thy Mother: Daughterhood, Dysfunction, and Deliverance (Wiley, 2025), examines how strained mother-daughterrelationships often stem from unresolved trauma, including childhood abuse, neglect, or emotional abandonment. Dr. Peteet’s work offers both professional insight and compassionate guidance for healing generational pain.
