Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities in the Roman world during Paul’s days. It was steeped in paganism and every form of wicked distraction. It was also a place Paul spent several years. It’s no wonder that Paul wrote two of his most forceful and humble letters to this people that he grew to love so much.
In his second (biblically published) letter to the Corinthians, Paul encourages the people he loves to press on to know God and follow Him more closely, something each one of us needs to hear today.
