message is the work of the Holy Spirit. 00:00:16.833 --> 00:00:37.206 So last week Scott did an amazing job, starting this out by talking about the person of the Holy Spirit, who he is, how he feels, all of those things, and he even, you know, kind of tried to explain the Trinity, which we realize is a large task to try to accomplish right. 00:00:37.206 --> 00:00:43.343 He even tiptoed a little bit towards my message for this week and I'm going to forgive him right up front. 00:00:43.343 --> 00:00:56.152 I'm going to say I forgive him because it's kind of hard to talk about who a person is without explaining a little bit about what that person does, right, and so I have to give him a little bit of grace in that way. 00:00:56.152 --> 00:01:01.171 But we're going to pick up from there and we're going to be looking at who the Holy Spirit is. 00:01:01.171 --> 00:01:13.265 This is a huge subject I hope you understand that and so we're going to look at categories where there's no way I'm going to be able to get into specifics about every aspect of the work of the Holy Spirit. 00:01:13.265 --> 00:01:17.641 That would be like me trying to stand up here and tell you how amazing my wife is. 00:01:17.641 --> 00:01:21.191 I mean, we would be here for a very long time with me explaining that. 00:01:21.191 --> 00:01:25.890 And then you take that and multiply it and then we talk about who the Holy Spirit is right. 00:01:25.890 --> 00:01:29.418 And so it would take a long time for me to be able to do that. 00:01:29.418 --> 00:01:48.063 We don't have the time to do that, but I am going to do the best that I can to be true to scripture and to give you a well-rounded understanding, to give us a well-rounded understanding of what the Holy Spirit does, and I want to start by picking up a portion of the verses that Scott read from last week. 00:01:48.525 --> 00:01:51.852 So let's turn to John, chapter 16, verses 12 through 15. 00:01:51.852 --> 00:02:01.185 So, before we talk about what the Holy Spirit does, I want us to understand from the scripture what the motivation of the Holy Spirit is. 00:02:01.185 --> 00:02:02.486 How many of you know that? 00:02:02.486 --> 00:02:09.486 Just as important as what a person does, the reason why they do what they do is just as important, right? 00:02:09.486 --> 00:02:17.151 And so we want to look at the Holy Spirit and understand what is the motivation of his heart, what is behind the work that he does? 00:02:17.151 --> 00:02:19.983 Why does he do what he does? 00:02:19.983 --> 00:02:24.652 So John 16, verses 12 through 15 give us a that you continue to do your great work through the study of your word this morning. 00:03:17.759 --> 00:03:20.588 I ask that you cause my words to be filled with your words. 00:03:20.588 --> 00:03:38.367 We'd be filled with life and love and hope and encouragement and conviction, and we pray, lord, that you would use these words to bring about your purpose in the building of your kingdom in people's lives, and we thank you for it in Jesus' name, amen. 00:03:39.931 --> 00:03:46.352 I want to ask you a question what is one limitation that and this is hard for us to imagine, right? 00:03:46.352 --> 00:03:49.149 So just think about this a little bit. 00:03:49.149 --> 00:03:55.145 Literally, this is pretty literal what is one limitation that Jesus had while he was on this earth. 00:03:55.145 --> 00:04:04.265 That made it important important enough for him to say it's essential that I go away so that I can send the Holy Spirit to you. 00:04:04.265 --> 00:04:12.635 So what is the one limitation that caused Jesus to need to leave this planet in order to be able to send the Holy Spirit to come? 00:04:12.635 --> 00:04:13.883 Can you think of what it was? 00:04:13.883 --> 00:04:20.646 Yes, yes, you got it. 00:04:20.646 --> 00:04:24.610 He's one person who could be in one place at one time. 00:04:24.610 --> 00:04:29.468 And how many of you know you'd want to be in that one place at that one time whenever Jesus was there? 00:04:29.468 --> 00:05:05.732 Right, but think about how, how incredible it is that God, in his forethought, in his master plan, in his sovereignty and in all of the, the thinking that his great mind does, made a plan where he could send himself, in the form of the Holy Spirit, to come to this earth to not only be in one place at one time, but to be all over the place at one time and not only live with people, like Jesus did, but he can move in with them and move into them and dwell in them. 00:05:05.732 --> 00:05:10.177 What a powerful gift the Holy Spirit is to us. 00:05:10.177 --> 00:05:11.261 Amen. 00:05:11.261 --> 00:05:17.959 And not only is that important because of the fact that we've experienced that individually. 00:05:17.959 --> 00:05:29.908 But how many of you know, the ministry of Jesus can be multiplied exponentially because millions of people are walking on the planet right now who are filled with the Holy Spirit. 00:05:29.908 --> 00:05:38.612 He dwells on the inside of them, and what a privilege we have of working with God in reaching people with the truth of Jesus Christ. 00:05:39.273 --> 00:05:52.982 So in our passage this morning, jesus has just finished the infamous last supper with his disciples in the upper room and he's you know, he's washed their feet, they've had the communion together and he's instituted that. 00:05:52.982 --> 00:05:57.012 And now they're actually walking on their way to the garden of Gethsemane. 00:05:57.012 --> 00:06:05.870 And we know the garden of Gethsemane is a place where Jesus would pray and ask his disciples to pray, and of course they were weary and so they fell asleep. 00:06:05.870 --> 00:06:10.632 They couldn't pray for one hour and Jesus would come back and say, hey, wake up, please. 00:06:10.632 --> 00:06:12.363 This is the hour I need you to pray. 00:06:12.363 --> 00:06:15.372 And Jesus would go back and he'd spend time with his father. 00:06:15.372 --> 00:06:28.605 And we know the famous prayer that he prayed Lord, if there's any way that this cup can pass from me, please let it be, but nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done. 00:06:28.605 --> 00:06:35.925 Aren't you glad that that's the way that Jesus prayed, because we know that he carried out the will of the father and was obedient to death, even death on the cross. 00:06:36.687 --> 00:06:42.829 So as they're walking and talking, jesus continues to remind them that he's going to be leaving them soon. 00:06:42.829 --> 00:06:45.721 Doesn't seem like this is sinking in very well? 00:06:45.721 --> 00:06:55.841 It's almost like the disciples were like sheep, and Mark shared, you know, some stories about sheep a few weeks ago and it's pretty obvious that they needed to be told over and over again. 00:06:55.841 --> 00:06:59.653 And before we judge them too harshly, place yourself in their shoes. 00:06:59.653 --> 00:07:08.673 You know, maybe you're thinking oh, he's talking figuratively, like he's going to go to another village and he's going to send us to another village while he's over here. 00:07:08.673 --> 00:07:13.110 No, no, no, he's actually going to leave and it's important for him to leave. 00:07:13.110 --> 00:07:14.853 It's urgent that he leaves. 00:07:14.853 --> 00:07:22.634 He's going to be going to prepare a place for them in heaven, but he's also going to be sending the Holy Spirit to them. 00:07:22.634 --> 00:07:24.889 The disciples understandably still need to be convinced. 00:07:24.889 --> 00:07:25.331 Holy Spirit to them. the Holy Spirit as what? 00:07:31.831 --> 00:07:33.322 The Spirit of truth. 00:07:33.322 --> 00:07:42.348 It's interesting because two chapters earlier, in John 14, jesus says what I am, the way, the truth and the life. 00:07:42.348 --> 00:07:46.196 No one comes to the Father except by me. 00:07:46.196 --> 00:07:59.192 So when Jesus says that he's going to send the Holy Spirit and he gives them the defining name or characteristic of being the Spirit of truth, jesus is giving us a snapshot of the motivation of the Holy Spirit. 00:07:59.192 --> 00:08:00.942 What is the motivation? 00:08:00.942 --> 00:08:02.665 Why is the Holy Spirit coming? 00:08:02.665 --> 00:08:04.230 Let's read on. 00:08:04.230 --> 00:08:05.492 Let's talk about this some more. 00:08:05.492 --> 00:08:12.093 When the Holy Spirit comes, he will lead and guide Christ's followers into all truth. 00:08:13.762 --> 00:08:17.540 Then Jesus begins to speak about the again, about the motivation of the Holy Spirit. 00:08:17.540 --> 00:08:31.507 What we discover as a summation of Jesus's statements concerning these things is as follows of Jesus's statements concerning these things is as follows the work of the Holy Spirit bottom line is to glorify Jesus. 00:08:31.507 --> 00:08:33.049 Make no mistake about it. 00:08:33.049 --> 00:08:41.230 The Holy Spirit came to this earth and his ultimate goal is to glorify Jesus Christ. 00:08:41.230 --> 00:08:49.106 That's why he's called the spirit of truth, because he's going to take the truth that is Jesus, and he's going to expound upon that. 00:08:49.106 --> 00:08:55.287 He's going to take that and deliver it through the scriptures and through many other ways and means. 00:08:55.287 --> 00:09:01.842 I'm thankful that Jesus understood this and that he knew the value of sending the Holy Spirit. 00:09:01.842 --> 00:09:12.142 It says here, in this passage again, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 00:09:12.142 --> 00:09:17.916 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 00:09:18.859 --> 00:09:23.950 The Holy Spirit, the work of the Holy Spirit, is to glorify Jesus. 00:09:23.950 --> 00:09:25.514 What does it mean to glorify something? 00:09:25.514 --> 00:09:30.664 That's a Bible word, right, but what does it mean literally? 00:09:30.664 --> 00:09:31.668 You know what it means. 00:09:31.668 --> 00:09:50.280 It means to shine the spotlight on the Holy Spirit's number one job, the thing that makes him get up in the morning, not as if he needs to sleep at night, but if he did need to sleep at night, the alarm clock would go off and his first thought would be how can I shine the light on Jesus today? 00:09:50.280 --> 00:09:55.811 How can I expose who Jesus is to the world and to the masses today? 00:09:55.811 --> 00:10:02.607 How can I make sure that people don't forget the work that Jesus did while he was here on the earth? 00:10:02.607 --> 00:10:11.412 This is what the Holy Spirit lives for, and this is what the Holy Spirit lives in us for. 00:10:11.412 --> 00:10:17.304 He wants to draw our attention to a man named Jesus. 00:10:17.304 --> 00:10:22.815 He does this by pressing home to our hearts the truth, the righteousness. 00:10:22.815 --> 00:10:31.726 Our hearts the truth, the righteousness, the majesty, the beauty, the goodness, the splendor of who Jesus is. 00:10:31.726 --> 00:10:34.471 Do we understand this in ourselves? 00:10:34.471 --> 00:10:38.903 Do we know how wonderful and how amazing and how glorious Jesus is? 00:10:38.903 --> 00:10:41.168 Do we remind ourselves of this? 00:10:41.168 --> 00:10:44.113 Do we preach the gospel to ourselves daily? 00:10:44.113 --> 00:10:46.937 I don't enough. 00:10:47.519 --> 00:11:00.846 If I'm being honest, the Holy Spirit's chief purpose is not to make himself known or prominent, but to magnify the person of Jesus Christ. 00:11:00.846 --> 00:11:14.892 The Spirit interprets and applies the character and teaching of Jesus to his disciples and to us and by so doing makes him central to their thinking and real in our lives. 00:11:14.892 --> 00:11:23.250 My friends, we must never separate the work of the Holy Spirit from the person and mission of Jesus. 00:11:23.250 --> 00:11:27.176 The Holy Spirit did not come to do away with Jesus. 00:11:27.176 --> 00:11:41.390 The Holy Spirit came to magnify, to glorify, to make him larger than ever before, and we must remember this or else we will end up in false doctrine and heresy. 00:11:41.390 --> 00:11:55.412 How many people do we know that have gone down the road of exalting the Holy Spirit instead of understanding the work of the Holy Spirit and exalting Christ, and have ended up in strange places doing strange things? 00:11:59.280 --> 00:12:06.330 Let's back up for a minute and join Scott's thought again by saying the Trinity is a mutual admiration society. to declare about the son, the son's going to declare about the father, the spirit's going to declare about the son, and on and on and on. 00:12:30.640 --> 00:12:34.644 Think about how the father glorified his son, jesus, at his baptism. 00:12:34.644 --> 00:12:44.649 Before he ever healed the sick or raised the dead or preached a sermon, his father said this is my son, in whom I'm well pleased. 00:12:44.649 --> 00:12:47.677 His father said this is my son, in whom I'm well pleased. 00:12:47.677 --> 00:12:51.763 Think about how the father glorified his son at the time of transfiguration. 00:12:51.763 --> 00:12:58.032 Think about the resurrection of Jesus and how the father glorified his son in that. 00:12:58.032 --> 00:12:59.274 And how about the ascension? 00:12:59.274 --> 00:13:05.767 And we know that when Jesus went back to heaven, what happened? 00:13:05.767 --> 00:13:15.230 He was given the name above every other name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. 00:13:15.230 --> 00:13:19.280 How about the son? 00:13:19.280 --> 00:13:21.828 Did he glorify the father Absolutely? 00:13:21.828 --> 00:13:32.359 He glorified the father by saying and doing only what his father told him to and being obedient to his father, even to the point of death on the cross. 00:13:32.359 --> 00:13:37.307 Jesus was glorifying his father continuously. 00:13:37.368 --> 00:13:40.058 Just listen to the first five verses of John 17. 00:13:40.058 --> 00:13:42.985 This is the prayer of Jesus to his father. 00:13:42.985 --> 00:13:45.357 Father, the hour has come. 00:13:45.357 --> 00:14:01.985 Glorify your son, that the son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh to give eternal life to all whom you have given him, and this is eternal life that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 00:14:01.985 --> 00:14:05.655 I glorify. 00:14:05.655 --> 00:14:06.638 How many times is that word going to be used? 00:14:06.638 --> 00:14:16.788 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do, and now, father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. 00:14:16.788 --> 00:14:35.729 These three individuals, who make up one God, love each other and they can't stop talking about each other in positive ways, in positive tones, and appreciating and loving and respecting and honoring and glorifying each other. 00:14:35.729 --> 00:14:37.842 What a seven characteristics of the Holy Spirit when it comes to the work that he does, but please understand that all of them need to come under the category that his motivation is to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ. 00:14:59.148 --> 00:15:01.068 So the first one, let's jump in. 00:15:01.429 --> 00:15:05.072 The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by conviction. 00:15:05.072 --> 00:15:12.171 Now, this is one we may want to skip over, right? 00:15:12.171 --> 00:15:16.638 No, we don't need to skip over this. 00:15:16.638 --> 00:15:17.201 This one is very important. 00:15:17.201 --> 00:15:18.847 In John 16, just the verses that were right before the passage that I read. 00:15:18.847 --> 00:15:29.009 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you. 00:15:29.009 --> 00:15:40.779 And when he comes, listen, he will convict the world concerning sin yeah, those people out there, wait a minute. 00:15:40.779 --> 00:15:52.255 How many of you know we are not of this world, but we are in this world and we need conviction of sin as well, and we were all sinners that needed Christ at one point in our lives. 00:15:52.255 --> 00:15:57.616 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment. 00:15:57.616 --> 00:16:00.327 Concerning sin, because they do not believe in me. 00:16:00.327 --> 00:16:04.721 Concerning righteousness, because I go to the father and you will see me no longer. 00:16:04.721 --> 00:16:10.038 And concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judge, is is judged. 00:16:11.522 --> 00:16:16.554 So one of the main actions of the holy spirit is to bring conviction. 00:16:16.554 --> 00:16:19.341 And what's the difference between conviction and condemnation? 00:16:19.341 --> 00:16:26.855 Conviction has hope genetically connected to it, attached to it. 00:16:26.855 --> 00:16:37.544 In other words, when the Holy Spirit brings conviction, it's with an answer you can change, you can come out of that, you can walk away from that. 00:16:37.544 --> 00:16:41.884 Condemnation says this is who you are and you will never change. 00:16:41.884 --> 00:16:45.799 Condemnation says this is who you are and you will never change. 00:16:45.799 --> 00:16:47.001 I prefer conviction, don't you? 00:16:47.001 --> 00:16:49.946 And that's who the Holy Spirit is. 00:16:49.946 --> 00:16:50.626 He brings. 00:16:51.548 --> 00:16:53.610 One of the things he does is he brings conviction. 00:16:53.610 --> 00:16:57.177 So he convicts the world of sin first. 00:16:57.177 --> 00:17:00.024 The world has no true understanding of the nature of sin. 00:17:00.024 --> 00:17:05.782 All you have to do is read social media for about 10 minutes and you understand that right. 00:17:05.782 --> 00:17:10.557 But the Spirit will show people that they are sinners because of what? 00:17:10.557 --> 00:17:11.218 Their? 00:17:11.218 --> 00:17:13.323 Unbelief in Jesus Christ. 00:17:13.323 --> 00:17:17.154 Again, his total motivation is to bring glory to Jesus. 00:17:17.154 --> 00:17:20.237 What is the only sin that will send people to hell? 00:17:23.019 --> 00:17:25.280 All of you are probably choosing one off the top 10 list. 00:17:25.280 --> 00:17:26.981 But what is it? 00:17:26.981 --> 00:17:33.886 It's unbelief, it's refusing to believe in Jesus Christ. 00:17:33.886 --> 00:17:37.689 That is the sin that will send people to hell. 00:17:37.689 --> 00:17:40.431 And please understand hell is real. 00:17:40.431 --> 00:17:42.712 It's not a figment of our imagination. 00:17:42.712 --> 00:17:58.990 It's not something that preachers talk about a lot anymore, but I am telling you it is a place that is reserved for Satan and for demons and for those who refuse to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:17:58.990 --> 00:18:07.057 The Lord Jesus Christ and this conviction theme. 00:18:07.077 --> 00:18:08.480 He goes on to say that he convicts the world of false righteousness. 00:18:08.480 --> 00:18:09.123 How many of you know that? 00:18:09.123 --> 00:18:14.500 One of Satan's tricks that he tries to play on people and he uses human beings to do it? 00:18:14.500 --> 00:18:23.746 And Jesus spent a lot of his ministry dealing with people who said to other people you can be made righteous by following these rules. 00:18:23.746 --> 00:18:29.121 If you just do A, b and C, you are righteous. 00:18:29.121 --> 00:18:33.489 How many of you have discovered that that is a lie? 00:18:33.489 --> 00:18:48.567 There is no way that you and I can make our relationship right with God by doing certain things, by following a certain list of rules, by doing the do's and not doing the don'ts right. 00:18:48.567 --> 00:18:49.449 Why? 00:18:49.449 --> 00:18:59.877 Because even if we did everything right, the motivation of our hearts aren't pure, so we do things for the wrong reasons a lot of times right. 00:18:59.877 --> 00:19:06.740 So we need conviction concerning true righteousness and not walking in false righteousness. 00:19:06.840 --> 00:19:09.468 The world's idea of righteousness is very different from God's. 00:19:09.468 --> 00:19:21.928 Only when the world is convicted of the hollowness of its own righteousness, will it appreciate the righteousness of Christ, which has been proven by his exaltation? 00:19:21.928 --> 00:19:25.917 The righteousness of Christ, which has been proven by his exaltation. 00:19:25.917 --> 00:19:27.599 How many of you know that Jesus is the righteousness of God? 00:19:27.599 --> 00:19:35.076 And he gives to us, he imputes to us, the gift of righteousness as followers of him. 00:19:35.076 --> 00:19:37.381 What a great gift that is. 00:19:37.381 --> 00:19:41.809 And then, finally, he convicts the world of wrong judgment. 00:19:41.809 --> 00:19:47.661 Doesn't take much of a rocket scientist to understand that the world's judgment is off. 00:19:47.661 --> 00:19:51.469 It's wrong, and so was ours. 00:19:51.469 --> 00:19:55.662 The world's judgment is wrong concerning god. 00:19:55.662 --> 00:19:58.426 In fact, we are told that we are god. 00:19:58.768 --> 00:20:05.179 Maybe not in such terms, but how many of you know that children are told from an early age you can do anything you want to do. 00:20:05.179 --> 00:20:09.256 You can be anything you want to be, dream big, you're amazing, you're it. 00:20:09.256 --> 00:20:12.965 You're all that there is in the whole universe, it all centered around you. 00:20:12.965 --> 00:20:22.143 That sounds real, nice and wonderful, but I'm telling you it's wicked. 00:20:22.143 --> 00:20:29.271 It's a wicked device that is meant to turn our eyes away from our need for a savior. 00:20:29.271 --> 00:20:43.607 The prince of this world understands this principle well, because he attempted to make himself like the most high, and so he uses that same temptation with humanity over and over again. 00:20:43.607 --> 00:20:50.727 But how many of you know that Satan was condemned, he is condemned and he was judged at the cross of Calvary. 00:20:50.727 --> 00:21:02.246 And when Jesus said it is finished, it wasn't just about us receiving the opportunity to be born again, it was about the grip of Satan being removed. 00:21:02.246 --> 00:21:10.298 Be born again, it was about the grip of Satan being removed. 00:21:10.298 --> 00:21:14.625 He has been judged by the cross of Jesus Christ. 00:21:14.625 --> 00:21:19.171 This world is equally condemned with its false prince. the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by regeneration. 00:21:32.856 --> 00:21:46.635 How many of you know that Jesus said to Nicodemus you must be what Born again, must be what Born again. through 7. 00:21:50.063 --> 00:22:20.284 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God, our Savior, appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ, our Savior, so that, being justified by his grace, we might become heirs where they were sitting and divided tongues as of fire, appeared to them and rested on each one of them and they were all what Filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. 00:27:30.607 --> 00:27:38.636 This was the initiation, this was the beginning of the evidence of the Holy Spirit being released in the earth. 00:27:38.636 --> 00:27:52.136 They were filled with the Holy Spirit and then in Ephesians 5, verse 18, paul says here and do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit. 00:27:52.798 --> 00:28:03.946 We are encouraged to be filled and in the Greek, if you read this in the Greek, it should say be being filled with the Holy Spirit continually. 00:28:03.946 --> 00:28:14.405 And we know that this is true because in the book of Acts, the same people that we read that story about in Acts 2, verses 1 through 4, asked to be filled with the Holy Spirit multiple times. 00:28:14.405 --> have been taught that there's only one experience with the Holy Spirit. 00:28:49.942 --> 00:29:05.414 It takes away, in my opinion, so much of the relationship aspect and the feeling that can occur of the believer to be being filled with the Holy Spirit. 00:29:18.770 --> 00:29:31.753 The scriptural evidence of being filled with the Spirit includes such evidences as not necessarily ranked in importance and not necessarily experienced by everyone, but these are some of the evidences that we see. 00:29:31.753 --> 00:29:43.023 The evidences are speaking in unknown tongues, bold declaration of the word of God, miraculous gifts, signs and wonders. 00:29:43.023 --> 00:29:46.537 And here's the most important one Christ-like character. 00:29:46.537 --> 00:29:50.817 Christ-like character. faithfulness of Jesus. 00:36:59.360 --> 00:37:17.400 Not only is he faithful to his father that would almost seem doable, because the father is perfect but he is faithful to us who are unfaithful. 00:37:17.400 --> 00:37:34.760 And the Holy Spirit wants us to get a revelation of that, because the more we understand that guess what happens in us, we become more faithful, gentleness, self-control. giving gifts 1 Corinthians 12, 4 through 11. 00:38:10.737 --> 00:38:18.005 Now, there were varieties of gifts but the same spirit, and there are varieties of service but the same Lord, and there are Christ here, in our own families, in our neighborhoods, at our workplace, at school, wherever we are around the world. 00:40:19.063 --> 00:40:30.737 My final thought I want to give you this morning is that true ministry in the Holy Spirit never serves a private agenda, Rather working in us and through us. 00:40:30.737 --> 00:40:38.000 He never exalts himself, but he continually glorifies Christ, have thought of it like that, but they talked a lot about the difference between our church and other churches, and it was never anything that had to do with Jesus. 00:41:00.394 --> 00:41:06.300 It always had to do with an expression of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. 00:41:06.300 --> 00:41:22.940 We actually had a lady that came to our church and I'm not going to go into detail, but she was a false prophet, found to be a false prophet later, and she had all kinds of signs and wonders that she performed, and I was 16, 17 years old. 00:41:22.940 --> 00:41:31.271 At the time my dad was the pastor and after the services I went to my dad and I said, dad, she never mentioned the name of Jesus. 00:41:31.271 --> 00:41:35.483 And my dad said but you know, she believes in Jesus.
