HLT116 Shannon Dowling
Show Notes

Since that special day last December when we screened A Match Made at Christmas and hosted two of the film's cast on stage for a post-viewing Q&A session, I have wanted to coerce Shannon Dowling to be on our show. But being the busy jack-of-all-trades - or is it Jane-of-all-trades? - artist that she is, I had to wait (patiently) in line for the opportunity. I will tell you up front that it was worth the wait!

We connect the dots from Costa Mesa, CA, to Arcata (Humbolt State) and continue North until we hit Seattle and eventually Bainbridge Island. Here are a few of her accomplishments: Clarinet, saxophone, flute, bass guitar, singing in several styles, acting, producing, modeling, voice-over recording, and teacher. By her own recorded testimony her favorite of them all is the last. She teaches music and singing in her home studio and couldn't be happier about the place that her long and winding road has brought her. Did I mention that she is a HUGE Beatles fan and in particular a Sir Paul McCartney fan?

Join us for a fun-filled hour of conversation as we toss these and many other topics of conversation into the cosmos for your consideration. One of those topics, magic, is an appropriate description of the vibe created by this walking dynamo. It was a pleasure to participate. I walked down the stairs from the projection room studio after our session 100% energized and (almost) ready to sing I Feel Fine.

Oh, yeah, we also managed to include a free ticket give-away in the form of a contest. I'll give it to you here so you know about it when it comes up in conversation: What does the term 'goofy footer' refer to?

Did I mention that she plays bass guitar left-handed - the way Jimi played his Stratocaster?

Thanks, as always, for tuning in today folks.
