You know the story About My Father, no? Witten by and starring Sebastian Maniscalco, the semi-autobiographical tale of growing up with his Italian father, Salvo (Di Nero). Once Sebastian decides to include Dad in his wedding plans, their cultural and social values quickly stir the pot of conflict and comedy as they spend a wild weekend with the to-be in-laws. There are some laughs and a few groans, but it is a good time for all in the end. Except the peacock.

Notes on YOU HURT MY FEELINGS. Runs 1:33, Rated R for adult language (?) from A-24, the current Hollywood darling studio. Written and Directed by Nicole Holofcener. Starring Julia Louis-Dryfus and Brit Tobias Menzies. She of Seinfeld and he of Game of Thrones. Here is the synopsis: A novelist’s longstanding marriage is suddenly upended when she overhears her husband giving his honest reaction to her latest work.

Current Tomatometer currently sits at a comfortable 95/62. The former the critics and the latter the audience. Almost exactly opposite of the About My Father ratings. So we, yet again, shall be the final judges. Such responsibility should never be taken lightly.

We are two weeks and two days from our gigantic 87th Anniversary Celebration, where we will blow the doors of normalcy and party like there is no tomorrow, because if we don’t, one day there won’t be one. Please read between these lines. Here is the music line-up, already signed and sealed: Please note the times are approximate and subject to change.

We are making a last minute full court press to coerce, arguably, the most popular local (BI) band ever into playing for us I am not going to name them, but I think you know to whom I reference. I have promised them an early evening slot should they agree, so, as we hold our collective breath, this will both change the above schedule and simultaneously up the music dynamic to Gorge-ian levels.

Lastly, the night after our fifteen hour FUNDRAISING promotion on the 21st, we Meet up with the Dead for a two show run at the HLT. Thursday, June 22 at 7 and again for an encore on Saturday, the 24th, at 1 for some sweet summer sunshine daydreams. Tikets for both, for all, are available now at Farawayentertainment. com. Your favorite source for luscious local entertainment.

Love ya.
