* FRI MAR 7 - RULE BREAKERS @ 4:20. This is a special presentation and then a Q&A with the Bainbridge Island High School Robotics Team. BHS 4915. Guest Speakers will intro the film and moderate the discussion.

SUN MARCH 16 @ 6:30 - WAKING NED DEVINE. Sponsored by CELTIC CROSSROADS NW of Bainbridge Island this timeless Irish classic will be presented free of charge with a $5 donation to cover our acoustic Irish Folk music which will open the themed festivities. Celtic Crossroads will have merch and info available in the lobby.

KINTSUKUROI - One night only! Filmmaker Kerwin Berk will present his work telling a story we are all familiar with here in the Northwest. Executive Order # 9066 changed the lives of 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry who were, illegally many experts say, rounded up and sent to detention centers. Berk will intro and host a Q&A after the screening. St Barnabas Church is co-sponsoring the event with proceeds going to help building a visitors center at the Exclusion Memorial.  Tickets are on sale now.

SECRET LIVES OF PETS. Mar 22 @ 11:30. Another Mindy Anderson presentation, this one is an animal lover’s fave and sponsored by, natch, PAWS of BI. It’s a free screening so bring your support dog and enjoy the show.

The (Quick) Commentary. the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has spoken. You should know that I’M STILL HERE will be playing till Thursday and THE SUBSTANCE opens Friday. Both nominated. The former is as dramatic as they come, a marvelously crafted story with present day overtones. The latter, might have garnered Demi Moore a gold statuette. And judging by the trailer, BLACK BAG looks to be a stylish spy vs spy counter espionage love triangle thriller. Cate Blanchette stars so I’m all in.

* World renown Jazz Trombonist, NAOMI MOON will bring her trio to the stage as a benefit performance for the BHS Band and Jazz Club on Friday, Mar 28.

* THE BARN will host their monthly seminar on WOODWORKING April 12 featuring a documentary on GEORGE NAKASHIMA. His Filmmaker nephew John will be in attendance to into the film and host a Q & A.

* SKYMAN with filmmaker DAN MYRICK will open a discussion of UFOs co-hosted by MICHAEL BRIEN. April 6 @ 4pm.

* Local legend MINOR MARIORITY and his trio, FRANCIS NASH, will light it up on April 26.

* Colleen Fisher will host RESCUED HEARTS doc on May 10.
