HANSON HOSEIN is an award winning storyteller and communications leader. As the President of HRH Media Group LLC he creates narratives that spark change, particularly during times of turbulence and transformation. His most recent work is focused on revitalizing America’s democratic franchise, recalibrating support for families most in need, and revitalizing higher education’s trajectory in collaboration with the University of Washington. Hanson co-hosts the UW podcast and is the voice of Microsoft’s internal podcast, ‘Unscripted’. As an early practitioner of multi-media storytelling, Hanson worked as an NBC News correspondent in the Middle East, the Persian Gulf, Bosnia and The Balkans. 

Tonight in the HLT we’ll screen Hanson’s latest work, AMERICAN DIGNITY, a twenty minute short on the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. Dealing with the courageous march for voting rights in Selma, Alabama as told through Hanson’s savvy lens, we’ll follow the doc with a talk-back with an All-Star cast of influential activists led by Common Power foot-soldiers David Domke, Charles Douglas and Hanson himself. 

Additionally, we’ll screen AMERICAN DIGNITY, three more times over the weekend after WHITE WITH FEAR, another powerful documentary on the state of the state with a Town Hall style discussion following each night’s presentation. Our search for solutions continues as we present these thought provoking narratives for your consideration. We invite you to come out and participate in this weekend of social exploration seeing answers to the primary question, Who are we? What do we want for our community and what can we do to protect the futures of our kids.
