BIG HLT kudos to everyone involved with the sold-out smash success of Thursday’s IRISH EVENING, including showrunner Eileen O’Grady, Debbie Sonandre from Celtic Crossroads NW, Darci from Ambassador Wines and REBEL WIFE Filmmaker Williams Cole. It was quite a night and we very much appreciate your awesome support of our special event programming Bainbridge lads and Island lassies. After 50 years, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST still has that magical fusion of a beguiling story, impeccable acting and masterful direction. If you failed to feel the raw emotional power of this film, we need to talk. Seriously.

OH, HI!. From RogerEbert.com: It’s a deeply human experience to long for someone who’s unavailable and to treasure a love that’s true but can’t last. “Oh, Hi!” ruminates on this to somber yet entertaining effect. Sophie Brooks (The Boy Downstairs) directs rising star Molly Gordon (The Bear, Theatre Camp) in this YA dramedy.

KEROAUC’S ROAD: THE BEAT of a NATION.  If pressed to choose the one novel that suggested another route (besides baseball) might be available in my life’s adventure, it would be On The Road. The peripatetic Kerouac opened more doors to America’s youth of the 60’s than Huxley, Casteneda and Alan Watts combined. He also introduced us to Neal Cassady, the counterculture, double-clutch Jack of all Trades.

MY MOTHERS WEDDING. Three sisters return to their home for the third wedding of their twice-widowed mother. But the mother and daughters are forced to revisit the past and confront the future, with help from a colorful group of unexpected wedding guests. Directed by Kristin Scott Thomas and starring Scarlet Johansson.

EASY RIDER. Nicholson plays juiced-up lawyer George Hanson along with Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper as they mount Harley V-Twin panheads and ride into the magic and mystery of American Freedom. Because that is what it’s all about, right? Oh, and that soundtrack humms like a 1950 chopped hog in high gear.

LAUREL CANYON LEGACY. This will top off our pop culture review as LCL pays musical homage to what is collectively regarded as the golden era of Rock ’n Roll, 1965 -1975. Carole King, The Byrds, C,S,N & Y, Mamas & Papas, Linda, Carly and Joni, Beach Boys, Doors and The Eagles. Sponsored by Eleven Winery, Backstreet Beat and Bainbridge Brewing. Please support them as you support us, as we all support each other. Coo Coo Cachoo. Tickets here.

Seat sale fund raiser at GOFUNDME is in full swing. Get yours today. Please. Start right Here.
