HLT#155 - DOUG PAGITT of WE THE PEOPLE RIDE
Doug Pagitt is an author, pastor, social activist and Executive Director of Vote Common Good. A leading voice for progressive Christianity, Doug makes frequent national media and speaking appearances. His new book, Outdoing Jesus, is available now. You can learn more at DougPagitt.com. He also devised, organized and led a bike ride from San Diego to St Augustine, FL to raise awareness about the atrocities and misinformation taking place along our Southern border. That’s right (I hear you asking) coast to coast in the shadow of the wall. Doug is also a musician, hailing from the great state of Minnesota, who also gave us Robert Zimmerman and his later incantations as Bob Dylan.
Doug will be with us on Sunday, Sept 14 at Noon to host the screening of the documentary that resulted from all the miles, interviews and situations along the route. He will also spend enough quality time as necessary in a post-screening Q&A to hopefully satisfy even the most fervent critic of our current (and past) immigration policies. His refreshing and candid style will immediately warn you of the devious chasm separating authenticity from the current political fear mongering propaganda of neo-fascism. With the bicycle as metaphor.
Come join us for this inspirational ride on Sunday 9.14 at noon. Tickets are available here.
NOTE: This podcast was recorded in 'reverse' mode, with Doug acting as engineer and host. Making me the guest. Please pardon the less-than-stellar audio from my end. Enjoy none-the-less.
