The Historic Lynwood Podcast

HLT#157-MADI WILLIAMSON and MIGRATION FILM FESTIVAL

Kevin Lynch Season 5 Episode 157

Welcome back friends, today we feature a panel of guests, a power trio of humanitarian good will, led by Islander Madi Williamson, a nurse with a BS in Public Health. Madi has volunteered as a general humanitarian and medical provider in seven counties and currently works on overseeing the day to day management of In-Sight Collaborative. She also heads a team looking to produce the Migration Film Festival whose ambitious schedule sees 2026 as launch date, and of course, THE HISTORIC LYNWOOD as the location. This then, serves as both backstory and update.

Joining Madi is Dave Fifers, Director of Admin at the EMA Foundation. Dave cultivates care-based philanthropy in spaces where his teammates, authenticity, and integrity can shine. He has a dedicated history of working at the intersection of operations, storytelling, and education. Dave is proud and privileged to have his efforts serve a network of partners doing work to create a better future. He has also worked at the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival.

Jo Rivera has worked behind the scenes in human resources, hospitality, finance and management for Industry events and several film festivals, including Mill Valley, Providence Town and SunDance. She also works with Dave at EMA.

Take a listen as we dive from a bridge over troubled waters intrepidly into a river of change. Where opportunity comes with each changing tide as does a future we all believe to be ours - should we choose to stand together and dream it into reality.

Thanks to Neil Young and Crazy Horse for the guitar bumpers, from the seminal Down By The River.

Onward & Upward we go. Thanks for listening and please call 206.451.4336 with comments or questions for our guests or drop an e to Kevin@Farawayentertainment.com. Peace & Love.
