HLT # 158 - (THE REAL) LADY A
Yesterday, In an Old School demonstration of artistic commitment, we took to the road to visit with our first headliner act of 2026. You know, because Zoom is just too impersonal and one-dimensional - and there is nothing like LIVE. Same as in music. Live music is better. Let there be no debate.
It was something like setting up in a music studio as I prepped to chat with the singer/songwriter/teacher/producer and star, (The Real) LADY A. Who will be on-sage at our place, THE HISTORIC LYNWOOD THEATRE, on Saturday, January 10. This, the second night in our celebration of the music of New Orleans.
In case you don’t recall the International buzz created when she was sued by a Nashville country trio who wanted to use her name for their act, we start our conversation as if the dust had just settled on this rather ridiculous misuse of the legal ownership of one’s name. I remain as befuddled to this day as I was five years ago when I first learned of it - but schooled now on the behind the scenes shenanigans that went down as agents, representation and artists collide. I think you will find it interesting and inspiring in the way that she rose above the calamity and came out not only none the worse for wear, but riding the crest of a priceless wave of new publicity and fan support. Just spell the name right, as we used to say in public relations. And this explains her now copyrighted use of (The Real) before LADY A.
Take a listen to her story and circle the date on your event calendar. Saturday, Jan 10. Tickets (like hotcakes) will flip fast and we’ll try to have them on-sale next week. In the meantime you can do your homework by visiting her site and picking up a CD or three. Link here.
Lastly, as I mention in the ‘cast, and as she elloquently promotes, her ONE SEATTLE SOUL concert at THE MOORE Theatre is on DEC 14, I have a handful of FREE tickets to this humanitarian feel-good super show, to share. To claim yours call us at 206.451.4336 and use the code LA.
Thanks always as listening, and hope to see you at the HLT soon, and especially on Jan 10 to see (THE REAL) LADY A live and on-stage.
