HLT# 162- JOE EDGELL of SQUEAKY WHEELS

Kevin Lynch Season 5 Episode 162

My guest today, representing SQUEAKY WHEELS, is Joe Edgell. Joe is a retired US Army JAG and worked many years for the EPA in DC and Seattle. He is now a SQUEAKY WHEELS board member, working advocacy for the common good of Islanders choosing non-motorized methods of transportation, and…..for non-users of said methods as well. That might be the key to the whole issue…getting everyone together and talking about it. And talk about it, Joe and I did. Up to, and including the heart of the matter, our PODCAST raison d'être, the 2nd SQUEAKY WHEELS Movie night at THE HISTORIC LYNWOOD THEATRE, TUESDAY, JAN 27TH AT 6:45. Here is the synopsis of the film, BIKES vs CARS which is actually one comment from the film’s IMDB site:  Exiting the conventional is required here. The themes of technology, ecology, progress and policy pops up in front of the viewer giving him a lot of new information and putting him before the choice of how to live his life. Divided into several parallel developing parts the film takes us into the world of people who ride bicycles, lead an environmentally friendly way of life and fight for their right to freedom on the roads. What future we have to choose and do we have the opportunity to do it fighting automakers and construction companies.

Hope to see you all at the event, bring your curiosity and willingness to support those that support you. We are, as my guest Joe, readily agrees, all in this thing together. Let’s make it work.

Here is the link for the ‘by donation’ tickets. And thanks again to our guest today, Joe Edgell for his time, energy, dedication and service and to SQUEAKY WHEELS for their exceptional community advocacy.
