THE AI DOC. 1:44 PG-13. A sober, enlightening, terrifyingly entertaining dive into the universe of artificial intelligence as the narrator struggles with the reality of bringing a child into the mess our so-called adults have created - and hope to control. It is, as the tagline suggests, ‘the most urgent film of our time’. I thoroughly enjoyed its creativity and approach to the issue. Open and close by Arthur C. Clarke. Que the Monkeys.

FANTASY LIFE: TV Veteran Amanda Peet (The Whole Nine Yards, Identity) and Writer, Director, Star, Matthew Shear take a NY stab at what we will call Classic Big Apple Jewish Comedy. If you liked Harry & Sally, early Albert Brooks, Crossing Delancy or having Breakfast at Tiffanys with Streisand and Woody Allen, this one should hold you over till Joel and Ethan do A Serious Man II. Starts Friday in an 11th hour strategic Castling move.

LORNE. 1:40 R. The Castle in this match. Will screen shortly, maybe even next week. Please stay tuned.

BIAA MOVIE NIGHT. The Bainbridge Island Astronomical Association present three free films celebrating International Dark Sky week.

SEEDS FOR LIBERATION. Hosted by Kitsap Palestine Solidarity Coalition, The Rachel Corrie Foundation, Code Pink, In-Sight, Palestine Action South Sound, Clallam Palestine Action Group, and HEAL Palestine. Filmmakers, cast and crew in attendance for talk-back.

WOMEN’S WORK. The untold story of America’s Female Farmers presented by our very own FRIENDS OF THE FARMS.  Panel discussion following with producer/director and local VIP reps.

Just a few of the special events heading your way. Also, and lastly today, the plans for our 90th Anniversary Celebration are underway and will (hopefully) accompany our launch of transition to 501(c)(3) status. I can release the dates (JULY 18 & 19) and the broad strokes (ACADEMY AWARD WINNING FILMS FOR FREE - As voted by YOU) More, much more, on that in the upcoming weeks. Until then, come on out and watch some great docs and participate in one or two - or all -  our community public service events outlined above.

See ya soon, ciao a presto amici. Que HAL.
