Join Sally as she talks with licensed psychotherapist-Maggie Malone about positive body image and eating disorders in dancers. Dance teachers and studio owners wield a lot of power over their students, known and unknown. This episode will bring to light ways teachers can be aware of their words and actions to help and not harm their students' self esteem.
Maggie has worked in a residential treatment center for substance use and co-occurring disorders, an intensive outpatient program, and in private practice. Currently, she is the owner of her own practice, Rosebud Psychotherapy, where she focuses on working with women and non-binary folx on issues like perfectionism, assertiveness and communication skills, anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance abuse. She advocates for body inclusivity and the celebration of all bodies at all shapes and sizes.
