The VO Median is a podcast created by Xavier Torres, a former five diamond butler, turned digital marketing enthusiast and now aspiring bilingual voice talent.
Xavier’s motivation is driven in great part not only to help, educate and inspire others looking for a career change into the business, craft and industry of voiceover, but also as means to keep himself accountable by showing up and telling his side of the story from his perspective at the median part of his life.
Initially a solo project, Xavier hopes to expand the show into regular interview episodes where both English and Spanish voice artists and voiceover entrepreneurs are all welcome to share their own experiences for the benefit of beginner and veteran voice artists alike.

16. Competividad: Eres "Rudo" o "Tecnico"?
Cuando compites, te consideras “Rudo” o “Técnico”?
Acompaña a Xavier en este episodio que, a primera vista, podría sonar un poco burlón y fuera de tema.
Sin embargo, hay mucho que decir acerca del estilo que utilizas al competir cuando eres, por ejemplo, el dueño de un negocio, o cuando está en juego una promoción de trabajo, o bien, en nuestro caso como artistas de voz, cuando quieres ganarte esa audición que tanto anhelas.
Ningún estilo es mejor que el otro.
Ambos tienen sus méritos y desventajas.
La competitividad, como concepto, no prefiere uno u otro bando.
Somos nosotros quienes, al adoptar uno de los dos bandos, creamos ese perfil competitivo.
En muchas ocasiones, este perfil se ve influenciado por diferentes aspectos de nuestra personalidad y también por los valores que aprendimos desde temprana edad.
Al final, tu decides si eres “Rudo” o “Técnico”, y cual estilo te acomoda más.
