W/C 11th December 2023 – What’s On in Tisbury and the Nadder Valley villages
As we inch towards Christmas there are many festive parties and celebrations to enjoy over the coming week
On Tuesday 12th, the SALISBURY BIG BAND CHRISTMAS CONCERT is taking place at the Nadder Centre from 1:30-3:30pm. This is a free afternoon of live music and socialising, with tea and cake available and all are welcome.
And in the evening the TISBURY HISTORY SOCIETY is holding its French themed CHRITSMAS PARTY in the Hinton Hall at 7pm. Tickets are £15.
On Wednesday 13th the TISBURY MEMORY GROUP has its CHRISTMAS PARTY in the Hinton Hall from 10am-12noon.
And in the afternoon, the FITNESS & FRIENDSHIP CLUB will be meeting, as usual, in the Nadder Close Sheltered Housing from 2-4pm.
Also on Wednesday afternoon is the December SERVICE OF HEALING & WELBEING at St John’s Church at 3pm.
On Thursday 14th evening, the TISBURY NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY’s talk, ‘PLANTS AND US’ is by John Akeroyd, a local botanist and author. This is in the Victoria Hall at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.
Friday 15th is the deadline to have your say on WILTSHIRE CITIZENS ADVICE. If you have ever used this service you can provide feedback, by completing a short anonymous survey, that will help shape the future service. Also on Friday, TISBURY COMMUNITY CHOIR is performing an EVENING OF CHRISTMAS MUSIC, where audience participation is encouraged but not compulsory! This is in the NewVic at 7:30pm with the doors and bar open at 7pm.
On Saturday 16th, the COMMUNITEA CAFÉ BREAKFAST will be in the Methodist Church from 9:30am-12noon.
And the COUNTRY MARKET will be open for an extra hour from 10am-12noon.
At Messums, at 11am, there is an ARTIST TALK and the opening of the ‘Liminal and Lenticular’ exhibition from the talented ceramicists Nicholas Lees and Greg Payce. For more information visit the Messums website.
On Saturday evening, a POP-UP CHRISTMAS MUSIC EVENT featuring Juno and Ambrose Connolly, performing classical and modern Christmas favourites, will be in the Victoria Hall from 5-7pm. Tickets are £25 with children free and available by visiting www.semleysummermusic.com/pop-up-christmas
On Sunday 17th, THE NUTCRACKER, ROH Royal Ballet recorded livestream event, is being shown in the NewVic. Doors open at 1:30 for a 2pm start. Adult tickets are £15 and £8 for children.
