TisTalk – What’s On

W/C 22nd January 2024

On Tuesday 23rd, the CARER CAFÉ, will be open from 10:30am to 12 noon in Beatons Tearooms. This is an opportunity for those with caring responsibilities to meet others over a cuppa and cake. 

And in the evening, the TPC ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE is hosting a talk on ‘Water Quality in Tisbury & the Nadder Valley’ at 7pm in the Victoria Hall. There will be speakers from Wessex Water, Wessex Rivers Trust and the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. All are welcome to attend and have a say in future planning.

 

On Wednesday 24th, the TISBURY MEMORY GROUP will be in the Hinton Hall from 10am to 12 noon. ‘Staying Safe and Steady’ both outside and in the home is the focus of this session.

 

 

On Thursday 25th, there is a LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP given by renowned local artist Anthony Connolly at Summerleaze Gallery from 10am-4pm. The workshop cost of £130 includes a home cooked lunch and refreshments throughout the day. For more information visit the Summerleaze website. 

 

On Thursday evening through to Saturday, it’s the much anticipated TAG PANTO, ‘Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves’ at the Victoria Hall. The show starts at 7:30 each evening. Tickets are £12 and £7 for children.

 

 

Saturday 27th, has lots on offer: 

 

·         The TISBURY BREAKFAST-EERS will be meeting at the Royal Oak, in Swallowcliffe at 8:30am sharp. The talk is ‘A View Through the Periscope’ by retired Royal Navy Commodore Chris Roddis who will be revealing insights to life under the seas and the dark art of submarine warfare. Tickets are £18 and reservations are requested by Wednesday 24th by email to: pvbudd@gmail.com

 

·         Also on Saturday, is the Tisbury Footpath club’s CIRCULAR WALK which is around East Knoyle, Milton and West Knoyle. The start time is 9:10am at the Nadder Close Car Park.

 

·         And there is TREE PLANTING in Swallowcliffe. If you are interested in joining this volunteer group who are planting trees to fight climate change, contact Chris on 07467 129349.

 

·         Then on Saturday afternoon, there is a TAG’S MATINEE performance of ‘Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves’ at 2:30 in the Victoria Hall.  This is in addition to the evening performance.

 

 

On Sunday 28th, the ROH OPERA ENCORE ‘Dvorak’s Rusalka’ is showing in the Victoria Hall at 1:30 for 2pm. Tickets are £15 and £8 for children.
