TisTalk – What’s on in Tisbury and the Nadder Valley

On Tuesday 6th the TISBURY CADET FORCE DETACHMENT is meeting in the Victoria Hall at 6:30 for 7pm. 

And on the same evening, at 7pm, all are welcome to attend the TISBURY PARISH COUNCIL meeting which will be held in the Parish Reading Room.

On Wednesday 7th, there is the TISBUS outing to Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. Pick-up is 9am and tickets are £15. For more information visit the TISBUS website at www.tisbus.co.uk.

Also on Wednesday there are a number of activities running throughout the morning:

·         The TISBURY MEMORY GROUP will be in the Hinton Hall from 10am to 12 noon.

·         TIS-TOTS will be in the Methodist Church from 10am-11:30am 

·         And the COMMUNITEA CAFÉ LUNCH will also be in the Methodist Church and will run from 11:30am-1:30pm.

Then at 3pm, a SERVICE OF WHOLENESS & HEALING is being held in St John’s Church.

And on Wednesday evening, the ROH ballet MANON, with choreography by Kenneth MacMillan, is being screened in the NewVic. It starts at 7:15pm and there will be 2 intervals. Tickets are £15 and £8 for children.

 

 

On Thursday 8th. through to Monday 12th, Messums are showing the work of ANNA CECIL, the 2nd local artist they have selected to feature during the month of February.

 

And on Thursday evening, the Tisbury NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY is holding its AGM in the Victoria Hall at 7pm. This will be followed by its usual monthly meeting at 7:30 where speakers from Natural England will talk about an ambitious programme to reintroduce Hen Harriers to the South of England. Whether you are a member or visitor, all are welcome and the Victoria Hall’s doors and bar will be open from 6:30pm.

 

Also on Thursday evening, TISBURY COMMUNITY CHOIR are holding rehearsals for their Spring Concert at the Methodist Church Hall from 7:30-9:30pm, and they are appealing for more male voices to join. If this is of interest, call Helen Hooper on 07810 185007.

 

 

On Sunday 11th, the Magic Lantern Film Club is showing WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY (Che Bella Giornate) in the Victoria Hall at 7:15pm. This comedy is currently the 6th highest grossing Italian film in Italy. Tickets are £8 for non-members.

 

 

 

And throughout February, there are free HEDGE-LAYING ‘hands-on’ courses. These are usually held on weekends and on Fridays. If you are interested, contact Jenny Allan at jeallan@hotmail.co.uk for more information

 

 

And finally, a reminder, as mentioned by Mary and Julie Ann last week, Coffee Angels is operating a cafe in the Nadder Centre over the next couple of months.
