Grace and Peace to all, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.(Isaiah 52:7) "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!"(Isaiah 55 10-11) 10) "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:"11) "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."(John 3:16)“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 14:1-7) 1)"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."2)"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."3)"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."4)And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."5)"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?"6)"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."7)"If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."(Romans 10 :9-10;13) 9)"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."10)"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."13)"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Hello, welcome to this another edition of Words from the Word of God. Thank you all so much for joining us this evening. It's so exciting to be back with you as we continue to look into the Gospels, starting with the Gospel of Matthew. So far we've been in Chapter 1, and we have read as far as Verse 25 to the end of the chapter in the last broadcast, where, if you recall in the last broadcast, and where, if you recall in the last broadcast, we looked through the eyes of Scripture, where we saw the promised King and Messiah, jesus Christ, the eternal sovereign, as the fulfillment, jesus being the fulfillment of the promises made through Abraham, there, in Genesis 15, 5, genesis 22, 17, and 18, and to David, in 2 Samuel, 7, 12, 13, and 16, being the fulfillment. And we talked a little bit briefly about the lineage of Christ and how God used faulty individuals, might I say, or flawed individuals, sinful individuals, not that he approved of their sin or had anything to do with their sin, you know no relation with that but they were redeemed and used for his purposes, his eternal redemptive purposes in Christ, to bring his son into this world, which we will look at this evening. With that foundation being laid. I want to pick back up in verse 16. We've already looked at Jesus' royal lineage and his genealogy in some depth, but we will get a little deeper into that as we go along. But now we want to turn our focus to marvel at the incarnation, the pivotal moment in history where God became flesh to dwell among us and that we will find is encapsulated in the profound name of Manuel, god with us. Now, as we look further through the eyes of Scripture this evening, we want to look at the presence of God, the presence of God, emmanuel, god with us. If you will begin reading with me in verse 16 and take note here as we go along, and jacob begot joseph, the husband of mary. Notice, the last begot in this genealogy is from joseph excuse me, from jacob to joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. So all the generations from Abraham to David are 14 generations, and from David unto the carrying wind of Babylon are 14 generations, and from the carrying wind of Babylon unto Christ are 14 generations.
Speaker 1:Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise. As his mother, mary, was espoused to Joseph before they came together. She was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph, her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately. That means secretly privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream saying Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary, thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. That which is in her is conceived in her womb, is of the Holy Ghost, and she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. Now, all this was done. This is very significant, especially for tonight's message, as we will look into this. All this was done that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is May the Lord bless the reading of his word to our hearts this evening.
Speaker 1:I draw your attention there to verse 16. As we begin this evening, I want you to notice a couple of things here in this verse that are a blessing to my heart, and I pray there will be a blessing to yours. As I said, if you notice, there it says and Jacob begot Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom pay particular attention to that phrase of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. The phrase of whom is in the singular feminine tense, pointing specifically to Mary and Mary only. This affirms the virgin birth, underscoring that Jesus was born of Mary only and not of Joseph. This detail highlights the divine nature of Jesus' birth and setting the stage for his unique role, as in God's redemptive plan for humanity, role. As in God's redemptive plan for humanity.
Speaker 1:If you will notice there, talking about the Begites, it says right there it says you know, jacob begat Joseph. That is the last Begite in this genealogy. That's significant also because this further underscores that Joseph in no way was the, he was not in any way the biological father of Jesus Christ. It says right here, and this is confirmed. Now, the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wife. When, at his mother, mary was a spouse to Joseph, before they came together, before they were intimate with each other, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost, again in verse 20, that was verse 18, but verse 20,. But while he thought on these things. Behold, the angel of the lord appeared unto him in a dream saying joseph, thou son of david, fear not to take unto thee mary, thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the holy ghost joseph. There is no begot from Joseph to Jesus, says Jacob begot Joseph. This further underscores again that Joseph had nothing to do with Jesus being conceived. He was not his biological father. Instead, it emphasizes that Jesus, as we read there in verse 18 and 20, the Word of God makes this very plain.
Speaker 1:Matthew in his gospel makes it very clear for all of us to understand. This is a miraculous and divine nature of this birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord man. He was not tainted in any way by the seed of man. If you notice verse 22, speaking about fulfillment, if you recall I said and I think I've said it several times Matthew's key word in his gospel we will find as we go through I think he writes it and says it about 33 or 38 times is fulfilled. You will hear the phrase now this was done, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken of by the lord, or of the lord by the prophet. You will hear that said many times If you notice right there in verse 22,. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying that fulfillment of prophecy. And then we move to the prophecy that's fulfilled, right here we move to the prophecy that's fulfilled right here. Behold, a virgin shall be with child and and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name emmanuel, which, being interpreted, is god with us.
Speaker 1:The prophecy that matthew is referring to and looking back to and quoting from is Isaiah, chapter 7, verse 14. Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and they shall call his name Emmanuel. There's a Hebrew spelling there, so it begins with an I in the King James Bible. It may be different in your version of Scripture, I don't know. But the important thing here is to see the fulfillment of prophecy here, the importance and significance of that as we go along. Fulfillment of prophecy is very, very significant, very, very significant, and we will look at that.
Speaker 1:But another prophecy that was fulfilled is Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6 and 7. Now, matthew does not refer to this, but I'm bringing your attention to it. Isaiah would also say of the virgin birth. In Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6 and 7,. We all pretty much know this. If you've been a true born again believer for any amount of time, you know probably know this scripture by heart.
Speaker 1:But let's read. It says for unto us, a child is born. Unto us, a child is born speaking of his humanity, the humanity of Jesus Christ. A child is born speaking of his humanity, the humanity of jesus christ. A child unto us, a son, is given. That draws my immediate attention back to john 3, 16. For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For unto us a child is born, isaiah, chapter 9, verse 6 and 7. Unto us, a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor. The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end Upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice, and henceforth, from henceforth, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this, certainly speaking of that fulfillment of the virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, as it says, the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Messiah. Jesus Christ the Savior the Messiah was on this. Wise Christ the Savior the Messiah was on this way.
Speaker 1:It happened this way when, as his mother was espoused to Joseph before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost and Joseph, her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, her a public example was minded to put her away privately the Jewish custom in that time, unespoused bride, so to speak. If she was found in infidelity or immorality or fornication and especially conceived a child, she could, according to the law a Jewish law, the law given them outside be stoned to death. It could have meant a death sentence, but Joseph, being a just man, was willing to give her a divorce, but do it privately, not bring any shame upon her. But he receives this message from the angel. We'll find out. He's a blessed man because the angel speaks to him many times about how the Lord wants him to raise Jesus and how he wants to control that circumstance. That prophecy may be fulfilled, it's divine providence as the situation unfolds here. In scripture we will see this but says in verse 20 but while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the lord appeared unto him in a dream saying joseph thou, son of david, another that support to the lineage, the royal line. Joseph was of the royal line. We say well, why is it important? Because it establishes that lineage, even though he had no part in the birth of Christ.
Speaker 1:But you notice, mary is included in this genealogy, the genealogy of Mary and Luke the doctor. Luke, who is the author of Luke, the gospel of Luke will give us the genealogy of Mary herself and he will follow that all the way back to Adam, speaking of the humanity of Christ, the Son of man. But here Matthew in every way presents Christ not only as the promised king, the promised Messiah, but also Emmanuel, god with us, as the fulfillment of prophecy, very significant for us to understand. Fulfillment of prophecy of prophecy, god's willingness to enter our world and live among us is the ultimate expression of his love. It is the ultimate expression of his love In Jesus. God took on human flesh and experienced life as we do, yet without sin.
Speaker 1:This is remarkable and many have a hard time believing this. This is something that is truly accepted by faith, just like all of the Word of God, just like everything of God's redemptive plan in Christ, just like receiving redemption and being saved, it takes faith. Faith in what is not seen, faith that what you can't grasp and hold on to, because the things of this world, as we will discuss here in a moment, even though you can see them and you can hold on them. How much stress can you place in the things that you can see and hope? How much stress can you put in those things? So why is it so hard to place your faith in such a wonderful and remarkable promise as God becoming flesh and dwelling among us in the person of Christ and him dying on the cross, living a sinless life, it says, speaking of his incarnation?
Speaker 1:This is the profound mystery of our faith, of the faith of every true born-again believer. It is the foundation of the faith of every lost sinner who will come to faith in Christ. Throughout the human history, before Christ returns and the tribulation period sets in Every person that becomes a son and daughter of the Most high God through repentance and placing their faith in Christ. This is the foundation. This is the mystery, the foundational mystery of our faith that Jesus is fully God and fully man. He experienced our joys, our sorrows, our temptations, our struggles, yet remained sinless I stress that sinless showing us the way to the father, the way of righteousness, and it is through him that we can put on his cloak of righteousness, as he died on calvary's cross to pay our sin debt in full, which we'll talk about, probably as the lord willing, in the next episode.
Speaker 1:Through jesus, we see god's intimate involvement in our lives. He is not some distant deity. You know, people have so many gods that they worship. I have dear friends that do not believe they believe in a higher power, but they don't believe in Jesus. They don't believe Jesus became flesh in God, god became flesh in the person of Jesus and that he lived a sinless life. He suffered the things that we suffer, yet without sin. He died a blemish-free sacrifice, sinless sacrifice, on the cross, being the only one who could do so, as the one and only mediator between God and man. They don't believe that. They believe that any other God, that as long as there's a higher power, everything's going to be okay. No, that is wrong. That is not.
Speaker 1:According to the word of God, jesus Christ, our focus is to be drawn to one person, one man, one man that was all God and all man, the incarnate Christ. Jesus Christ, the son of the most high God. Jesus Christ, our redeemer. Jesus Christ, our savior, the one who paid it all upon Calvary's cross that we might have the right to be called the sons of God, we might have the right to be called the sons of God, that he might give us that authority by receiving him by faith. Jesus' incarnation bridges the gap between heaven and earth. He tells us in his incarnation that God is not some distant deity that we can't believe in, that we can't put our faith in, but a loving Father who is close to us.
Speaker 1:As I said, jesus' incarnation bridges the gap between heaven and earth, between God and man, making it possible for us to have a personal relationship with God, the Father, through God, the Son, jesus Christ. But we must understand something to receive the true, the truest blessing of all this. For us to receive that truest blessing, it must be understood that this was all part of God's eternal redemptive plan for humanity, a plan founded in his heart in eternity, past the apostle Paul and I love this verse would tell us in Ephesians, chapter 1, verse 4, he says for he, speaking of God. Verse 4, he says for he, speaking of God, chose us in him before the creation of the world, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in his sight, be presented before him holy and blameless in love, not that we loved him, but that he first loved us. There is nothing in us for us to be loved so much. There is not one thing in our sin nature, apart from Christ, that makes us lovable. But God still loved us enough to become flesh, become all man and all God, in the person of none other than Jesus Christ.
Speaker 1:Emmanuel, god with us, the presence of God, god with us. How remarkable is that, my friend? You know, as we reflect on the profound mystery and significance of Emmanuel, god with us, we see the depth of God's love and his intimate involvement in our lives through Jesus' incarnation. Through Jesus' incarnation, through the presence of Jesus here on earth, dying on the cross, shedding every drop of his precious blood, taking his place in death, that we might have a chance to take our place in life through repentance and faith in him. By his blood our sins are cleansed, and we will talk about this in the next broadcast, as we talk about seeing the provider of salvation, but tonight we must see the presence of God, emmanuel, god with us. What did it say? And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, the Lord. Save Yahshua, the Lord save, for he shall save his people from their sins, the Apostle Paul would tell us in the letter to Corinth I believe it's 2 Corinthians 5, verse 21,. Speaking of God, he says For he made him. God made Christ to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. As we reflect on this great and profound and most significant mystery of Emmanuel, god with us, god becoming flesh and dwelling among us, we see the depth of his love and his intimate involvement in our lives. Jesus' incarnation, the divine presence, not only brought God into our midst but also set the stage for the ultimate act of love and redemption, the place that stands in the center of all eternity, calvary's cross. Calvary's cross, and might I say, speaking about fulfillment, you know there's about 25 to 30 percent of scripture is prophecy and the majority of that has already been fulfilled. That tells us that we can trust. We can stand upon the solid rock it with all faith and no one else but Jesus Christ.
Speaker 1:In a world that often seems unreliable and filled with deception, we hear so many voices talking now that this new government is taking over and everybody's placing their trust in Trump. Trump is a man. If you need to understand the truth about who you need to truly understand, truly trust. Please read Jeremiah, chapter 17. Please read Jeremiah, chapter 17. You cannot. Cursed is the man that places his faith in man and makes flesh his strength. Trump is not going to fix what is wrong with our nation. He's not going to fix what is wrong with the hearts of men. The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart, and the only one that can change that is no one else but Jesus Christ. We must share the gospel instead of being worried about what the government's going to do. You cannot trust in anything in this world because it is guided by the God of this world, who is full of deception. Jesus called him the father of lies, as John, chapter 8, verse 44. This pervasive deception can make it difficult for individuals to trust anything fully. However, the fulfillment of prophecies in Christ offers a beacon of hope and a solid foundation for trust.
Speaker 1:The accuracy now you listen close to what I'm saying the accuracy and reliability of these fulfilled prophecies, as we look through Matthew's gospel, demonstrate that God's word is true and trustworthy. For instance, as we looked at Isaiah, chapter 17, verse 14 being fulfilled in Matthew, chapter 1, verses 22 and 23,. This fulfillment is evidence that God's promises are reliable and that he is faithful to all of his word. Fulfilled prophecy gives us that hope, and that hope in God's eternal word, god's eternal son. That hope is eternal redemption, eternal joy, eternal rejoicing in him.
Speaker 1:In contrast to the deception of this world, jesus proclaimed I am the way, the truth and the life. This declaration assures lost sinners that in Christ they can find the ultimate truth. By trusting in Jesus and his word, they can break free from the lies and deception of this world and find the true path of salvation. Furthermore, the promise is made to Abraham in Genesis, chapter 12, verse 3. That says where the Lord says in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed, is realized in Jesus Christ. We've already talked about that, but it is worth mentioning over and over and over again. This fulfillment highlights God's sovereign plan to bless all nations through Jesus. It reassures all sinners that God's intention has always been to offer salvation and blessing to all humanity.
Speaker 1:For those who feel lost and betrayed by this world's deceit, this message of Jesus' fulfilled prophecies offers you a lifeline. It invites you to turn to Christ, who is the embodiment of truth and the fulfillment of all of God's promises. Just read through the Old Testament prayerfully. Number one you need to repent and receive him by faith. If you've never received Christ as your Lord and Savior, I want you to understand this that in Jesus you can experience the unwavering love and grace of God and find a trustworthy foundation to place all of your faith.
Speaker 1:The significance of Jesus' incarnation cannot be overstated. The foundation of Emmanuel, god with us, cannot be overstated. He is not just a historical figure. He is not just a man that was a good teacher. No, he is the sovereign promised king and Messiah. Emmanuel, god with us. God in the flesh, died on Calvary's cross, and he is the only one that could do that, because he lived our life and experienced all the things that we experience, yet without sin. He is the only one that lived a sinless, blemish-free life that he could die that perfect sacrifice to satisfy God's holiness upon our sin, his judgment, his wrath, his righteous requirements upon our sin. He must judge sin and he judged our sins, the world's sins, as they were all placed upon his son on Calvary's cross.
Speaker 1:I'm getting ahead of myself, but I can't help it. We'll look into this tomorrow as we talk about or in the next broadcast. I keep saying tomorrow, but I pray that the Lord will allow us to join together tomorrow, but in the next broadcast I keep saying tomorrow, but I pray that the Lord allows us to join together tomorrow but in the next broadcast we'll talk about the provider of salvation. They shall call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sin. Folks, emmanuel, god with us.
Speaker 1:Jesus Christ, god in the flesh, all man, all God came for a purpose, for a plan to fulfill a purpose and a plan of God to redeem humanity. And he is the only one that could ever do that and he is the only way to the Father. Because there's a conclusion to that verse. We read there and quoted from John, chapter 14, verse 6. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. No man, no woman, man, woman, boy or girl comes to the Father, but by me. But by me. It is only through faith in him and him alone you can't work for it. We talked about that as we closed last night.
Speaker 1:I want to close with it again Lord, lay it on my heart, for by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. Through faith and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not a works, lest any man should boast If you have not received Christ as your Lord and Savior. With this message, on all of our postings on social media there is my phone number and my email. Please text me, call me. I cannot save you, but I can lead you to the one who can, if you need somebody to pray with you.
Speaker 1:But I tell you, it's as simple as saying Lord, I come to you, a sinner. I know I have done egregious things in your sight, and it doesn't have to be in these exact words Whatever is upon your heart, upon the conviction of the Holy Spirit, because if you're feeling drawn to him right now, that is the Holy Spirit drawing you to the saving knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is calling out to you right now. He says I stand at the door and knock. If a man will open, I will come in unto him and sup with him and he with me. That means he is actively searching, actively seeking to save that which is lost. And that's you.
Speaker 1:Tonight, sinner friend. All you have to do is confess, and that's repentance, repent of your sin, turn from the sin that you're in, change your mind. That leads to a change of action. Remember, I said the heart of the problem is the problem of the heart, the heart transformation. And you receive him by faith, as the risen son of God. And he said him by faith as the risen son of God. And he said whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That's an emphatic, it cannot be changed shall be saved. Whosoever calls upon him shall be saved. You follow what the Holy Spirit is speaking to your heart tonight and you call out to him in repentance and faith. And I promise you, by the authority of God's Word, you shall be saved. Thank you so much for joining me tonight. I look so forward to the next time we can share in a word from the Word of God. God bless you all.
