Words From The Word Of God
A topical, and expositional study from the Word of God, in order to Glorify and Exalt our Great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; that we may reach the world with the Gospel, and grow in the Grace and knowledge of Him.. Grace and Peace to all, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.(Isaiah 52:7) "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!"(Isaiah 55 10-11) 10) "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:"11) "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."(John 3:16)“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 14:1-7) 1)"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."2)"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."3)"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."4)And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."5)"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?"6)"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."7)"If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."(Romans 10 :9-10;13) 9)"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."10)"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."13)"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Words From The Word Of God
The Battle Is Already Won: Walking Daily in Christ's Triumph
How do we apply Christ's wilderness victory to our daily spiritual battles? This powerful conclusion to our series on Matthew 4 unpacks practical strategies for living victoriously in a world dominated by temptation.
Christ demonstrated a profound template for spiritual warfare—responding to Satan's timeless tactics with the unwavering truth of Scripture. "It is written" became not just a defensive maneuver but a declaration of the living, active power of God's Word. What's remarkable is that Satan's strategies haven't changed in 6,000 years of human history, yet Christ's response provides an eternally effective counter-strategy.
The Apostle Paul's teaching in Ephesians 6 illuminates how we're equipped with divine armor for spiritual battle. The sword of the Spirit—God's Word—proves central to our defense against principalities and powers that seek to undermine our faith. Victory isn't achieved through our strength but through Christ's finished work.
Through personal testimony, we witness how genuine surrender to Christ transforms lives overnight. Those burdened by addiction, worldliness, and persistent sin find liberation not through willpower but through the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit. This victory requires daily commitment—taking up our cross, starting each day in prayer and Scripture, and leaning on Christ's strength rather than our own.
Whether you're struggling with temptation or walking in freedom, this message offers hope and practical guidance. For those who haven't yet trusted Christ, there's an invitation to experience this transformative victory personally. For believers, there's encouragement to keep eyes fixed on the author and finisher of our faith, whose victory is eternally secure.
Join us next time as we continue exploring the life-changing words from the Word of God. What spiritual battle are you facing that needs Christ's victory today?
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
If you haven't received Jesus Christ by Faith, as your personal Lord and Savior; I strongly encourage you to do so before it is eternally too late!!!

Hello and welcome to this another edition of Words from the Word of God and the series conclusion entitled Living in Victory here from Matthew, the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 4. I know we've been here for quite a little while and we're taking our time as we go through the Word of God, but I believe it's significant that we tie all this together that we've discussed in this series and these segmented messages. Throughout this series we've walked through the wilderness with Jesus. We've unmasked our enemy, satan the devil, the deceiver, the slanderer, the accuser, satan, the devil, the deceiver, the slanderer, the accuser. We celebrated our high priest and studied the template that he has set forth for victory, that he has greatly demonstrated to us here in the scriptures. But what does it mean to live in that victory every day? To live in that victory every day? Let us today reflect on how Christ's triumph empowers us to walk boldly in faith, resisting temptation and helping others to find hope in him. What does it truly mean to live in that victory? Well, for this answer, we must shine the light of other scriptures upon this.
Speaker 1:Today, yesterday, or in the last broadcast, we looked at Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 12, where the apostle Paul, in his epistle to the Ephesians. There, verse 12 says For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, discussing how the battle that we fight is not against man, it's not against other people, it is a spiritual battle. It is a battle that is fought by ourself, by our own strength, our own resources, our own ability. We would greatly fail and falter many, many times more than not. But the apostle Paul gives us encouragement. He tells us to take on the whole armor of God, here, starting in verse 13 of Ephesians, chapter 6. He says Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. You hear that, having done all to stand, you hear that having done all to stand. It is an active process, is it an ongoing process? And we must continue in this fight.
Speaker 1:But, as I said yesterday, you know satan's attacks. His tactics have not changed in 6 000 years of human history, from the garden of eating to the wilderness, all the way into this present day. We still have to defend against the same tactics, against the same lying and the same slandering of God's word and the power and authority of God's word that he brings into our lives on a daily basis, speaking of Satan. But Paul tells us here what the armor of God is, the whole armor of God, and I want you to listen to how many times the word of God is mentioned, the word of truth, the sword of the spirit, listen to what the major defense here is. Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth. Whose word is the truth? The word of God? Having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness, that is, the cloak of righteousness that we have, not of our own effort, not of our own merit, but the righteousness that we have in Christ Jesus. And verse 15, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, speaking again of the word of God, where we find the gospel of peace Above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked and take the helmet of salvation. And listen closely to the latter part of verse 17 and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Speaker 1:Praying always. Notice this. Praying always. You know, paul encourages us in Thessalonians to pray without ceasing, and that's praying not only for ourselves, but praying for the victory for others, other brothers and sisters in Christ, and the salvation of souls as well. Praying always, with all prayer and supplication, many different types of prayers in the Spirit, in the Spirit of God, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Did you hear that? For all saints, not just for ourselves, but the victory lived in the lives of all of our brothers and sisters in Christ. And you know I thank God for the ministry that we have. You know, through it, the Lord has worked in such a way as he's brought many people throughout the United States, many people in other states and, might I say, other countries around the world. He's brought us together as a family in Christ. And you know, we're a one body. We're one body in Christ Jesus and that is the universal church and that is the body of Christ. Universal church and that is the body of Christ. Those who are true born-again believers, those who have truly given their heart and life to the Lord, accepted him, could repent of their sin and turn from those sins and turn to him by placing all their trust and faith in him. Truly born again, born from above, born of the Spirit, but Paul gives us the format for the whole armor of God and a large portion of that armor has to deal with the Word of God, and that's what we must look at this morning.
Speaker 1:I'm going to look at Matthew, chapter 4, verses 4, verse 7, and verse 10, and bring about how Jesus sits forth, the pattern pattern, and we already talked about this. But I want to make it clear. Verse 4 he says, but he answered and said it is written man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Where do we find the words that proceedeth out of the mouth of God? In his word, in his love letter to us, jesus says there it is written the way that is written in the original language. It means it is written, it stands written and continues to be written. We understand that God's word is eternal, god's word is alive, god's word is powerful. Jesus said in verse 7, it is written again thou shalt not tempt the Lord, thy God. He said again in verse 10, get thee hence Satan. For it is written thou shalt worship the Lord, thy God, and him shalt thou only, shalt thou serve if you will turn with me to hebrews, the book of hebrews, chapter uh four.
Speaker 1:There I want to read a couple of verses of scripture. Turn with me over there to hebrews, chapter four, and let's read, starting in verse 12. Let's read there. It says and we all covered some of these verses yesterday it says in verse 12, for the word of God is quick, that means it's living and powerful, that means it's active. It's living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, the thoughts and intents of whose heart, our heart. James would compare, as we read yesterday or in the last broadcast, that it is compared to a mirror, that we look into that mirror and if we're not a doer of the word, we quickly go away from that mirror, not understanding what power it has in our lives, and we forget who we are.
Speaker 1:If we continue in the word of God, prayerfully praying, always, as Paul told us, wielding the sword of the Spirit, not our sword, his sword and the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit that dwells within us, helps us to wield the Word of God in a living and powerful way in our lives. Jesus gives us this template. I think it's wonderful that he refers to the word of God. The word of God is the power of our hearts and our lives as we walk through this world day in and day out and continue to deal with these same temptations of the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. You know, I think it's important, but let's, let's see how, the light of other scriptures. You know we got the word of God, we have that foundation in our hearts. So let's shine the light of the word of God on Matthew, chapter 4, verses 1 through 11. As we look today in the conclusion of and living in victory, as we shine these light of other scriptures upon that, that text in Matthew chapter 4, we see how we can live in Christ in victory number one. We must understand that the victory has already been won in Christ.
Speaker 1:The word of God tells us in Colossians 2, verse 15,. And having spoiled, speaking of Christ, having spoiled principalities and powers, who do we wrestle against? What did the apostle Paul say there in Ephesians? We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. He says we wrestle against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Colossians tells us. 2.15 tells us and having spoiled principalities and powers, he, speaking of Christ, made a show of them, openly triumphing over them. In it, christ's victory over Satan was sealed at the cross of Calvary and the empty tomb. As we come up upon Easter and we commemorate and we celebrate the crucifixion of Christ and his resurrection on that resurrection morning over 2,000 years ago, where he defeated death, hell and the grave for us and Satan and his tactics, he overcame and that victory, we must understand, has already been won at the cross and at the empty tomb. His triumph is the very foundation for our daily walk. That's how we can know the victory has already been won. We look to the cross, we look to the empty tomb.
Speaker 1:Walking as overcomers is our second thing that we want to look at. The Apostle John in his first epistle, in chapter 5, verses 4 and 5, says For whosoever is born of God overcometh what the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world? But he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God. Victory is not about sinless perfection. It's about faith in Christ's power and his promises. It's about faith and keeping our faith surrendered and centered upon him, living a Christ-centered life following his example that he has set forth.
Speaker 1:And I think it's a wonderful study that we're doing now, going through the gospels, learning of Christ in every way that we can. That's why we're taking such careful time to go through these scriptures and not hide or plan our way through that. We see the example he set forth in his sinless life completely obedient, humble and surrendered to the Father's will. If we follow his example, we will be the same. We will be completely surrendered, we will be completely centered in the Father's will. Not only that, but we must see that we have to do a daily surrender.
Speaker 1:Jesus would tell us in Luke, chapter 9, verse 23,. If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily. Did you hear that? Important? Not when we feel like it, not when we think it's right to do. No, he says if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, deny himself. That takes humility for us in this prideful society that we live in, that puts self first. We must have the importance set in our heart that we're willing to humble ourselves to follow Christ and deny ourselves to follow Christ and deny ourselves and take up his cross. Take up our cross daily. And that is fighting this battle with the temptations. He says take up his cross daily. It is not a once a week thing, it is not just on Sunday morning, sunday night and Wednesday night. It is living from Sunday to Sunday, completely surrendered to the will of the Father in Christ Jesus, our Lord, following his example. And he says take up his cross daily and follow me. Living in victory means choosing each day to surrender to Christ. Means choosing each day to surrender to Christ, following his word and walking in the spirit not our spirit, the Holy Spirit following his lead.
Speaker 1:Not only that, but if you consider, think of someone in your life who has struggled with addiction, who has struggled with sin. Maybe it might be pornography, it could be alcohol or drugs or something along that way. And I have met many men through my time in ministry, my 20-something years in ministry, who have been defeated by addiction and I have seen them give their heart and life to the Lord. I've seen their life completely change. And I'll give you this. You know I wasted a good part of my adult life living in the world. I really gave a large portion and I regret those years. I'm not proud of those years that I lived worldly and I wanted nothing to do with the Lord. I wanted nothing to do with his word.
Speaker 1:But I will tell you, in the latter part of 2004, and the reason I can't remember the exact date is because of the migraines that I suffer with and the medication my memory suffers. But I know that it was the latter part of 2004 that I surrendered. I surrendered my heart and life to the Lord. I asked him to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I confessed, I repented of my sin and I can honestly tell you all of what I was involved in the world, all that completely changed overnight.
Speaker 1:Now, have I struggled with those things along the way? Yes, but I've had the victory by surrendering my heart daily to him. And I want you to understand that I don't preach because and I don't and I'm not passionate about the gospel of Christ because I'm better than anybody. I'm just a sinner saved by grace, as we all are. But what I am proud of is the fact that he alone changed my heart and my life. When I was born again into the family of God, my life completely changed and I've not been the same since, and my wife Teresa can attest to that, my family can attest to that. I wish my dear dad was alive to see it today, because he preached the gospel to me over many years and I ran from it. I struggled with it. I ran as far as I could from the Lord living in the world. But overnight, overnight, I can assure you that my life changed, my destiny changed, my eternal destiny changed overnight, the very moment I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ.
Speaker 1:Not only that, but we must start our day in victory today, before the busyness of life takes over each day, we must commit our day to God through prayer and scripture, acknowledge our dependence on him and invite the Holy Spirit to lead us. Not only that, but we must lean. If we are to walk in victory, we must lean on his strength and not ours when temptation arises. Remember Philippians, chapter 4, verse 13,. The apostle Paul said I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me. Call on him in moments of weakness, call on him in moments of struggles and temptation, when you're burdened down with the temptation of the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life. You want to put self above everything else. Call upon him and he will provide a way of escape.
Speaker 1:He assures us in his word and we find that in 1 Corinthians 10, verse 13. He says there hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man. Don't think that you're ever alone in your temptation, because just the temptation you're dealing with, someone else is dealing with that as well. Another brother and sister in Christ is dealing with that as well. Another brother and sister in christ is dealing with that same temptation. But it says there is no temptation taken you, but such that is common to man.
Speaker 1:But god is faithful if we will lean upon him, if we will lean upon the, the strength of christ, the one that strengthens us, that we can do all things through. We remember that we live in that victory. He is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you're able, but will, with that temptation, also make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it, that ye may be able to bear up under it, that you may overcome it. But we don't overcome it. In our strength, in our ability or our resources, we depend solely upon him and his spirit that resides in our heart. We reside on that divine power, the divine power of the living and active word of God, the powerful word of God in our lives. We must say it is written. We must be ready to say it is written, it stands written and it will always stand written. It will never falter, it will never fail. The word of God endures forever. It is quick and it is powerful. Not only that, but we must live as a witness to others when we have the victory, whether we're struggling or whether we're having the victory that day. Always be ready to share your faith with those who are struggling, pointing them to the hope you found that we have found in Christ, encouraging them, offer encouragement, offer scripture and, more than anything, offer prayer along with that scripture to those in need.
Speaker 1:Victory in Christ is not about avoiding every struggle. It is about trusting the one who has already overcame all things, the one who has set the example for us here in this scripture that we've been in for quite a few broadcasts now. Matthew, chapter 4, verse 1 through 11. Not only this scripture, but as we go through the gospel. We will see him overcome, overcome time after time, his divine power. We will see his divinity on display. We will see how he lived a sinless, perfect life. That he might die that sinless, perfect sacrifice on Calvary's cross being made sin. He who knew no sin was made sin for us. That we might be made the righteousness of God in him. No, victory in Christ is not about avoiding every struggle. It's about trusting the one who has already overcome. Our strength will fail, but his, and understand this. Mark it down. Write it down today, today's date. His strength will never fail. Walk confidently in his grace, knowing that he who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it. If you wonder what verse that is, that's Olympians, chapter 1, verse 6.
Speaker 1:Invitation as we close, I give an invitation to the lost, those who have not trusted in Christ, repented and trusted in Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you feel defeated by sin, overwhelmed by temptation or burdened by guilt of your past or what you're involved in right now, jesus knows, he sympathizes with you, but he was tempted in every way, that we are yet without sin. If you've given in to the sins of the world, you've given in to that temptation of Satan of the world. You've given in to that temptation of Satan. You have lived by your master, your father, satan, all of your life and you are tired of that burden of guilt. You're tired of that sin. You're tired of that addiction. Jesus invites you to share in his victory. He died and understand this. He died on the cross to pay for your sins and my sins.
Speaker 1:John would say he was the propitiation for our sins, and not for our sins alone, but the sins of the whole world. He rose again to give you and everyone who received him by faith new life, and everyone who will receive him by faith, new life. All you have to do is believe in him, confess your sins and surrender your heart to him. He promises to forgive, to restore and to transform you. Will you accept his invitation today? He says I stand at the door and knock. If any man will open up, I will come in and sup with him and he with me. It means he is actively seeking all those. He says I came to seek and to save that which is lost, that one sheep that's out in the wilderness. I have left the 99, and I've gone to find that one that I can bring him home, and he's calling to you to come home today. If you're ready to give your heart and life to Christ, I ask you to pray with me right now.
Speaker 1:Now, understand this I cannot save you and a simple emotional prayer cannot save you. It must be from your heart and you must do it in true repentance, willingness to turn from that sin that you're in, willingness to turn from the world and turning to Christ in faith. That's where the salvation comes from. If you will read with me Romans, chapter 10. Turn over there with me. If you will, romans, chapter 10. Let's turn over there.
Speaker 1:I want to get scripture on. This Word of God says let's see here, starting in verse 9, he says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith Whoso believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the jew and the and the greek, for the same lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved.
Speaker 1:If you truly want to be saved today, pray this prayer with me. Pray it from your heart, really meaning not just an emotional experience, but repenting from where you're at, turning from that, turning from the world and turning to God by fleshing your faith in Christ. If you're ready for that heart change not just an emotional prayer, but a heart change If you're ready for that change in your life today you're tired of where you're at. You're tired of the guilt, the burden of guilt that you're carrying because of your sin, the shame. He knows where you're at, he knows what you're going through and he calls you to be saved today. Pray this prayer with me this morning, in earnest, in your heart.
Speaker 1:Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of your grace. I confess that I am a sinner in need of your grace. I believe that you died for my sins and rose again to give me new life. I surrender my heart to you and ask you to be my Lord and Savior. Help me to walk in your victory each day. In your precious, powerful name I pray. Amen To those who prayed that prayer. Welcome to the family of God.
Speaker 1:Let someone know about your decision and, most importantly, find a Bible-believing, bible-preaching church, a fundamental church that preaches the word of God and stands upon the word of God, and begin walking in the newness of life that Jesus provides For those already in Christ.
Speaker 1:Keep your eyes fixed on him, the author and finisher of our faith.
Speaker 1:As Hebrews tells us, temptation may come, but his grace is more than sufficient and his victory is already eternally secure. Through the wilderness temptation, jesus had revealed that victory is not just possible, it's promised to all who follow him. As we go forth, may his word dwell richly in each of your hearts, may his spirit guide you and may his love compel you to live boldly for his glory. And that's what it's about Living in a way, in such a way that every word, deed and action, that every breath that we take brings glory and honor to his name, living in the path of righteousness, being led in the path of righteousness for his namesake. Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey through Matthew, chapter 4, verse 1 through 11. Until we meet again, may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ and God, our Father, be with you all. I love you all in Christ. Thank you again for joining us. I look forward to the next time that we can share a word from the word of God. God bless.
