We often hear about “the mental game”, whether talking about professional athletes, assessing performance at work, or day to day life, what’s happening between the ears is often one of the most critical aspects to success. In Part I of a series on mental health, I talk to Nicholas Davenport, founder of the company Mind Body 1.

Nick, a former Division I athlete, and current educator, brings a scientific approach to training the brain, not only for athletes, but for the community at large. Using a series of self-created mental drills, Nick is helping athletes and business people alike take their mental performance to the next level.

In this episode, we discuss the science behind Nick’s methods, Nick’s entrepreneurship journey and how he’s overcome his own failures to achieve success. But don’t take mine or Nick’s word for it, as a bonus, we also talk to one of Nick’s clients … critical care nurse, turned amateur boxer Breanna Vandale, who discusses how Nick’s mental training helps at the hospital and in the ring.

Game 7: The Sports Business and Lifestyle Podcast explores the intersection between sports, business and lifestyle by interviewing some of the most interesting and successful people in their industry.
