Okay. Here we go. Tonight! Tonight! Chapter 10 and 10 verses, praise the Lord. Anyway, this is some interesting stuff. I probably struggled with this less than any of the other chapters so far. So that's thank God for that. I was telling you what. Anyway, so we're gonna just start, jump right in. Some more symbolism. Remember, this is the revelation of Jesus Christ. And you know, you know, I love that scripture in Colossians 3.11 says Christ is all and in all. And so I mean I'm seeing Christ and all these angels. I mean, I know they're not all Christ, but a lot of them are. And I think the first one is says, then I saw another strong, super strong celestial messenger. You know, we interpret that as angels, but it's a celestial, heavenly announcer. That's what it is. Hey, when you guys get into the spirit in a heavenly spirit, you're kind of a heavenly announcer. You know, a celestial messenger. You have a message that's a heavenly message. But anyway, then I saw another, this is interesting, super strong celestial messenger. Now listen, remember John was caught up the remember, he was heaven was opened up the heavenly realm, and he was caught up in the heaven. But now he's hearing all the seven seals break and the trumpets blow, and this is kind of the seventh trumpet. But now it says it descending out of the heavenly realm. Interesting, isn't it? Now, for you know, he starts off in Patmos, and Yeshua in his all uh incarnation and divinity, Son of God, Son of Man, shows up, and then of course the letters to the churches, which I think it should be backwards. You'd think that would be the end, wouldn't you? But it's not, it's at the beginning because Christ was crucified from the foundations of the world. Then he's caught up in the heavenly realm and he's hearing things, right? And he's recording things and he's seeing things. But now this very strong celestial messenger descends. Remember, you know, in Philippians, he talks about how you know Jesus came down, right? And even though he was fully God, didn't uh claim to be God or didn't see equal with God, and he was fully God, fully man, descended into our hell, really, into our darkness. So he says, now listen, the symbol symbolism here: a strong celestial messenger descending out of the heavenly realm, clothed in a cloud. Okay, get the visual. This is all symbolism, clothed in the cloud. What's the cloud? Well, I mean, the cloud in the Old Testament, he led, remember, he led the people of Israel cloud by day and pillars of fire by night, correct? When Jesus was baptized, a cloud came over and the voice came out of the cloud. They said, This is my beloved son, whom I'm well pleased. And the transfiguration, a cloud shows up, they're enveloped, and a voice in the cloud says, This is my son, listen to him. And there's another time when Jesus is speaking and the cloud speaks of this is my son. So the cloud is is, in my opinion, is a representative of God. So here comes this messenger clothed in the presence of God, the Father, Son, Spirit. Or really, in my opinion, this is Christ here, but that's just my opinion. And I'll say this everything I say hold loosely. Because I mean, I could change in my mind at any moment. And I know as soon as I get through the end of this, I'm gonna look back and go, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. And it's gonna change. And we went through it a second time, it'd be different. Every time I go through a book, it is different, which is great. It makes it fun. So, you know, just listen to see what the Spirit's saying to you. Just kind of hold, like, you know, it's water, let it drip through your hands, let it get your hands away, but you know, just let it flow through. Now it's clothed in, don't think angels clothed in the presence of God, his head is crowned in a rainbow. And of course, we know that the rainbow is a covenant. It's a sign of a covenant that God made to the righteous man, the man of faith, Noah. And that it was that he would never destroy the world this way, whatever. But notice it's a covenant of promise because God didn't say, if you did this, then I won't do this. He said, I promise I would never, this will never happen again. And the fact that it's around his head, it could have been around his clothes, but it's around his head. So it's marked in his brain. This covenant that's from his side, it's a covenant of promise. So here we got the presence of God and the covenant of good news. I won't destroy you, it's always good news when he won't destroy you. Anyway, then his face was shining like the sun, and that to me is deity. Back in Revelation 1, when you know, when John, remember he turns around to see who's talking to him, he says that his hair was gleaming, his face was radiant. Radiant means shining, and the transfiguration, actually, Jesus, Moses, and Elijah were radiating white, weren't they? It's a divine being. Yeah, white light. Now, this is to me, this is interesting. And his legs were like pillars of fire. So you get the visual. This is all symbolism to describe. And like I said earlier, in the wilderness, this is to a primarily Jewish audience, he led the children of Israel by cloud by day and pillars of fire by night. Now, isn't that interesting? So legs would be stability and legs cause motion, right? And pillars of fire, so it would lead us out of darkness. He leaves the pillars of fire to lead us by night out of our darkness. And it's stability, isn't it? All right. He held a small open scroll in his hand. His right foot was on the sea, his left foot on the land. Now, this is interesting because he's holding a small scroll. Now, remember at the beginning of this chapter, or beginning of this book, or on the fourth or fifth chapter, I can't remember which, but remember that the one who sat on the throne is holding a scroll that has seven seals. It's not open. He's holding it, and only one being is worthy to grab it. And it's the lit, it's the lamb that had been violently slain, but yet was alive. Now, this being, which I think is Christ, because this is the revelation of Christ, Christ is clothed in the presence of God. He does have the covenant of promise on his brain, he does lead us out of darkness, and he's holding an open scroll, not a closed one, not for someone to scroll. It's open. So it's a little scroll, it's a little message from God. Now, what happens? His right foot was on the sea, his left foot on the land. Now, many of these can be interpreted in many ways. One is he's sovereign authority over all creation. The land is this is is is the earth, but sometimes the sea in the scripture is people. It's people, the roars of the sea. It's the roars of the people. So he's sovereign over the people, he's sovereign over the earth. He is Lord over all. He's Lord over all creation, isn't he? And he's standing on it in authority as a victor. Okay. And the commentary here, just Revelation 9:15, where the hour contains the entire prophetic thought that pointed from the generation to the specific year, month, week, and moment now concluded in the Lamb. Jesus is the end of the prophecy. All the prophecies point to Jesus. The slain and risen lamb, redeeming God's image in incarnate human form, is the theme and context and conclusion of the scripture. That's what the scripture is all about. Remember, Jesus said, if he said, You search the scriptures diligently, says to the Pharisees, because you think you in them you have eternal life. Those scriptures speak of me. All the prophecies point to Christ. And in Luke, he says what? He says, We're going to Jerusalem, and all A-L, I mean I said this many times, all the prophecies will be what? Fulfilled. His death, his resurrection, his ascension, and the outpouring of the third part of the Trinity that God had, the Holy Spirit, the blessed paraclete, Heilegeist, which I'm sure I said it wrong. But for you people that speak German, a good attempt. But anyway, think about that. The scroll is open, and he's sovereign. He's just holding it. Just like the remember when the one who sat on the throne was holding a sealed scroll, but with his open hand for someone to take it. If you hold something out, you're waiting for someone to take it. If you don't want someone to take it, you hold it with a grip. Alright. It says, so this strong, super strong celestial messenger, he cried with a great voice, which sounded like what? The roar of a lion, which is authority. He cried with a the great voice was sounded like the roar of a lion. In other words, the lion of Judah. Roar of authority. And when he cried, the seven thunders spoke. Now, nobody knows, but in Psalms 29 it says, God's voice thunders over the waters. It's interesting, the angel spoke, and the seven thunder spoke. And we have seven seals, we have seven trumpets, we have seven spirits, and we have seven thunderous thunders that speak. And nobody says what they are. Because the next verse it says, and I was about to record it. Remember, John's recording all this stuff. Like a scribe, which is what the Old Testament prophets did. They didn't experience, they experienced a little bit of the Christ spirit, because it says that in Hebrews the 6th chapter. But they were writing it down. It was this prophecy. He's recording it, but it says, I was about to record what I heard, but was told by another voice from heaven not to, but rather to seal their sayings in silence. In other words, another part of God's plan that at this point is not to be revealed. But we're getting some interesting stuff here. Okay, now remember the first two verses describing this strong, super strong messenger and how he's standing on the sea and on the land. Now it says, Then I saw the celestial messenger. He sees him again standing victoriously. He was just standing, but now he's standing victoriously. He's got the victory. There's all kinds of songs about Jesus has the victory, but then we and then all of a sudden we get into our own works and he doesn't have the victory. I gotta have help him with the victory. No, no, it's a finished work. He's got the victory. Behold the Lamb who takes away what? The sin of the world. Behold the Lamb, a God, who when he died, we died. We were raised, he was raised, we were raised, he ascended, we ascended. Ephesians 2, 2 Corinthians 5. Who restored our image and likeness. He's the victor. Standing victoriously on the sea, which could be interpreted as the people and the land, lifting his hand to heaven. In other words, almost like now he's in the heavens, he descends out of heaven, but yet he's connected because the presence of God, even though he's not in the heavenly realm, is surrounding him. He's clothed like a cloud in the presence of God, even though he's not in the heavenly realm anymore, is he? And he puts his hands up, he made a solemn oath, which is a guarantee. In him whose life spans the ages, forever and ever. Amen. Past, present, future. God has no beginning, no end. And an oath means he swore a guarantee. Remember in Hebrews, he said he looked to see if anybody, they swear by anything greater than himself, he found nothing, so he swore by himself that he'd give it, give the gift of grace as a virtue of a promise. And I always like to say, so we can't screw it up. Which I'm so grateful because I would. I know that. If it depended on me in one iota, watch out. I'm going down in flames. Whose life spans ages, in him who created the heaven, the earth, and the sea. In other words, he's swearing an oath to the one who created the heaven, the earth, and the sea, whose life spans forever and ever, the one sees on the throne, which really is the Godhead, the Father, Son, Spirit. And everything in them. This is what? The conclusion of the prophetic time. What does the conclusion mean? The end. When you have a when you tell a, you know, you teach something, you get a conclusion, you give a summary, but it's the end. This is the end of the prophetic time. Say the calmly, stop and calmly think about that. And he says that. You know, remember people in the last day. The last day was after the death, resurrection, ascension. It's gonna be it's the last time forever and ever and ever. There's never gonna be another last time. We're in the last days. There's a former rain and the latter rain. We're in the latter rain. We've been in that latter rain. So it's Jesus, death, resurrection, ascension, and the outpouring of the Spirit. And it's forever the end, the last time. The last time lasts forever because it's the last time. All right. Wow. Verse 7. In these days when the sounding of the seventh messenger trumpets commence. Listen to this. So remember we got the seventh trumpets. We just went through that. We went through the seven seals. Now, when in the days when the sounding of the seventh messenger's trumpet commences, the mystery of God will be what? Fully realized. In exact accordance with what the good news he announced to his servants of prophets. In other words, everything Jesus told the prophets that pointed to Christ, and Christ is fulfilled. Fully realized the gospel, the good news. The finished word where God did what no man could ever do. Wow. And I love the mystery, the mystery of God. Now, if you look at a lot of stuff at this the mystery, it's the judgments. But the problem with that is he bore all the judgment upon his own body. He says that several times in scripture. All the punishment that belonged to us went on him. He bore the judgment of all humanity. That's what he did on the cross. And he hung on a cross, a piece of wood, symbolizing, symbolizing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That's how he died. It's all symbolism to show you. He died to that tree. And we were included in his death. And if you talk about the mystery of God, no the mystery of God. The mystery of God. This is what mystery that's hidden from ages and generations. What is it? Christ in you. He's right there. How'd he get there? Oh, I asked him into my heart. Where does that say that in scripture? Nowhere. He just woke up, Paul, like Paul says, when God sought fit to reveal Christ in me, what was he doing? Persecuting Christians, but Christ is there. Christ is all, and he is in all. Ephesians 4th, chapter the sixth verse. There's one father over us all reigning over all and living in us all. Some people say that's just the Christians. Uh-uh. All. Just because they don't realize it doesn't mean it's not true. Like Francois likes to say, gold doesn't become valuable till it's discovered. It can be in the ground. It doesn't worth a thing until you discover gold. It's not valuable till you discover Christ in you. There's a mystery. What's the mystery? The mystery is the good news. How God, without anyone's help, forgave the man the sins of all humanity, who restored and redeemed everyone according to his plan, who restored your your innocence, your righteousness, who poured out his love upon you and brought it, brought you back to himself. And gave you a different covenant covenant of faith. And redeemed your uh image and likeness. Say, I am in the perfect image and likeness of God. That's what God believes. Well, I didn't do this. I don't care. For me to disagree with that is disagreeing with God. I'd like to disagree with God. I think God's right. It's good news. If I judge myself by what I do, I'm in trouble, but I judge myself by what he says. He says I'm his perfect image bearer. Therefore, he must be right. He must know something that I don't know. And if he does, then I'll just believe him. How's that? If I can't figure it out, just have faith. And again I heard a voice addressing me out of heaven. Now there's a voice, remember? This angel descended, he's writing, all this is going on. But now there's a voice addressing John out of heaven, telling me to go and take the little book that was open. Go and take the little book, the little scroll, this little mystery. Remember, he was told, don't write this stuff down. Remember the the thunderous seven thunders said something after the strong angel cried out like a lion, don't write this down. And now, and look about this. Before we're scribing everything, right? But now he says a voice comes from heaven and says, Go take the scroll. Now, the first in the first picture, no one was worthy to take the scroll, except for what? The slain lamb. But now he's telling John to take the scroll. And it's a scroll in the right hand, and it's opened, it's not closed, there's no seal. He says, Again, I heard a voice addressing me out of heaven, telling me to go and take the little book that was open. Now, this is great. Then the commentary talks about Ezekiel and says, The little book, the broken morsel of bread. Who is the bread of life? Who is the bread that was broken for us? Condense into bite size the entire prophetic relevance of scriptures fulfilled in this one man, in this one act of righteousness, Jesus Christ and him crucified and raised. Wow. Verse 9. I went. Now look at what the he's told to do this, right? He just witnessed the slain lamb. Nobody was worthy to take the scroll, the seven seals, and the I mean, this, I mean, what a creature to show up. Not a roaring lion, not a tough, big, tough muscle man, a a lion, or excuse me, a lamb that was slain so badly, but yet it lives. The symbolism. And now he's told to take the little scroll. So he goes up. And I went and faced the messenger. Whoa, a face-to-face encounter. He faced the messenger. He didn't go down like this. Sorry, my halo's glowing. But he did, he did. He walks boldly in a face-to-face relationship with the messenger and asked him to hand him the little book. Hand me the little book. He didn't say, Would you please hand me the little book? Someone told me I'm supposed to take the book. Do you mind if I take the little book? He said, hand me the book. Now listen, the strong, super strong angel, instructs him to take and do what? Devour it entirely. Eat it. The message is no longer scribed, it becomes incarnate. Kind of like communion. He instructs him to take it and devour it entirely. It would be bitter into the belly, but sweet as honey on the mouth. Now, that's a little interesting. And the commentary says this reminds of Exodus 12.8 that the same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with the bitter herbs and bread made without yeast, they were to eat the whole lamb. In other words, it's gonna taste really so good, like MM's, or something really sweet, or something you really like. But when it gets down there, it's gonna make your stomach go, ugh. Maybe think about the gospel. It is sweet to eat, but what happens when it gets down here? We contemplate on the death, resurrection of Jesus, what happened. And, you know, like over in you know the Beatitudes, he says, those who uh choose to live a righteous life will be what? Persecuted. When you really want to live by a faith life, you will be persecuted by who? Most of the religious people. So there, so even though this is got this great message, and Paul got his butt kicked everywhere. I say, to me, that's where maybe the little the bitterness was. You know, that you know, because there's some suffering that goes on with this the suffering of Christ, and there's our suffering. It's not we don't suffer for Christ, for it, we just suffer because of the good news, because people don't like the good news. They want they want to make sure that you we have something to do so we can pat ourselves on the back that we did this and we did that, or more we were right and they were wrong. That's what goes on in most denominations. We got it, we're right, they're wrong. And that's where love comes in when love does. Take into account the wrong suffering. Love believes the best of every person, whether you agree with their theology or not. But he says, if you he says, and if you are persecuted for my if persecuted tongues, any interpretation? Just teasing. He said, if you're persecuted for my sake, my name's sake, you're you're uh you're great in the kingdom of God, aren't you? You're gonna you're gonna suffer for the true gospel, for the finished work gospel. You're not, you know, a lot of people are persecuted in Christendom, but they're persecuted for self-righteousness and judgment, because they're not nice. They're not nice, and they're self-righteous, and they're persecuted for that reason and shunned. And people stay away from but it's a different story when you're you're a love vessel and you're persecuted for a work that that encompasses everybody, that embraces everybody, that includes everybody, regardless of their outward actions. And that gospel actually works. Alright, last verse. Oh, ten. So I took the little, so we so he says what's gonna happen, and of course, here at verse 10, it happens. So I took the little book out of the celestial messenger's hand, and I ate it up entirely, and it was indeed sweet in my mouth, and it became bitter in my belly. In other words, here is the incarnation in John. The message becoming flesh in not just Jesus Christ, but now John the disciple. This John the disciple that Jesus loved. I look how he says that he's the I'm the disciple that Jesus loved. It's a good thing to know, by the way. You should say the same thing. I'm the disciple that Jesus loves. So, in other words, this message is no longer written down, inscribed, it becomes part of you. And over in Hebrews 8th chapter says, He will write his laws on our hearts and our minds, isn't it? Does he say that? And verse 11, and he said to me, Necessity, or something which would be something that is required, necessity is laid upon you, John, to now disclose with new insight. You've just been given a little scroll, a new revelation. You've eaten it. New insight, the prophetic word again, this prophecy's time has come and is now relevant. You will declare it before many peoples, different nations, and their kings in their specific mother tongue and language, which he probably only knew a couple languages, maybe even you know, Greek, maybe some Hebrew, maybe some Aramaic. But he's saying, just because you're 90 years old and you're stuck on an island for my, you know, for the gospel of Jesus Christ and exiled, you are going to still be used, and you're gonna touch people of different tongues, kings, different nations, different mother tongues, and he did through his writings. Anyway, but the important thing here to me is he gave him an open scroll, which is a new revelation, new insight that John got, and he was to share it through the whole world. Amen.
